We thoroughly enjoyed our cosy stay this weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday. From the delicious 3 course dinner and breakfast to the relaxing, professional spa treatments, helpful staff and cosy accommodation, Fordoun really exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was my first visit to Fordoun and I will surely be back! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the attention to detail was just amazing. My hubby and I are in agreement that the massage we had at the spa was our best spa experience to date 👌🏼 The food was delicious and even the special red velvet cake arranged for our wedding anniversary was divine ♥️. To top it off, as we were checking out our vehicle had just been washed — after all the dust collected from meandering around. Literally everything was on point! Well done and a big thank you to the Fordoun team for making this such a memorable experience.

We recently had a Spa Day for a work celebration at fordoun and WOW! The friendly staff went over and above and our lunch was phenomenal. Will definitely be back!

It is a beautiful place. However the spa facilities are quite primitive. I went for a pedicure and although the treatment was good, I was very surprised that the therapist had to fetch a plastic bowl with warm water to exfoliate my feet. Really… There is not even taps in the pedi lounge. Further to that it was my 60th birthday spoil and although I had to fill in a form with my details, nobody noticed that my birth date is the same day! So really you can do better than that!

Great place. Highly recommend this super Hotel and Spa. Besides having amazing amenities and super staff, the food is superb. Just off the highway — don’t have to drive through poor road surfaces I would highly recommend this stop over.

Fordoun is a beautiful place that allows you to take a breath of fresh air! The most friendly staff, great food and even better activities. Our time there was tranquil and most of all we felt safe at all times. A really great spot, Well done to the Fordoun team.

Over priced for what they offer. Meals are average. No attention to detail or making any effort for special occasions. Lack of information regarding the Hotel (breakfast times, room service etc) in the Superior rooms. Spa staff & massage where good though.

We went for a halfday Spa experience. The flotation pool is AMAZING. Best hotstone massage, Liquid Yoga out of this world, Reflexology and express pedi. All was so lovely. Staff caring and friendly. Facility extra ordinary, nature close to heaven!

An absolute relaxing overnight stay with Fordoun. Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary and we enjoyed the Amorè Package. Everything about Fordoun is so welcoming and warm! Stayed in the Superior Mountain Facing Suite. 5 star plush and super cosy suite. Friendly courteous concierge, breathtaking scenery, good food, a beautiful spa with amazing staff that are patient and friendly and really great! Thank you Zee and Nomvu. Our treatments were more than we imagined it to be. Felt so pampered and indulged. This was our first visit and will be back! Thank you!

I had the pleasure of enjoying the day spa. Superb service, staff and facilities. The spa menu has a great selection to choose from. They have also recently opened a beautifully appointed mani pedi room for group.

WOW! We have been going to Fordoun for the past 3 years and each time they continue to exceed our expectations. From the staff in the gardens, to the admin staff, spa staff, restaurant staff and so on, they are all extremely friendly, always with a smile on their faces and completely obliging. The spa and treatments are out of this world, the rooms are elegant, homely and beautiful and the food is beyond decadent. We love the experience and the people of Fordoun!

Did not stay or use the spa facilities this visit, only had dinner. Delightfull dinner in a lovely formal setting. Good food, fair service and good wine list. Not cheap, but value for money, consistent with the setting and the ambience. Not much ambience in the bar though, almost as they don't want you to linger there. The lounges, on the other hand were very comfortable.

My partner & I had a memorable experience at Fordoun. Staff friendliness from pre booking and ordering room requirements service to checking out was 5 star. She needed a weekend away and got just that, everything was taken care off. Not too mention the Food was fabulous, Michelin star chef. We will be back.

Having visited various hotels, spas and restaurants in the area, I can confidently say that Fordoun is one of the very best. Staff are so pleasant and clearly very well trained, great food at the restaurant and the spa is divine.

What an awesome place to stay. The rooms are super comfy and stylish. Dinner was delicious. The service and attention was outstanding. Will definately be coming back.

I often go here to get a massage at the spa. The spa treatments are affordable and really good. I recommend the deep tissue massage. Get there at least half an hour before your appointment so that you can fill in all the required paperwork. What’s nice is that you can have some light refreshments — fruits/muffins and a selection of teas/coffee and juices. After your massage you can go for a steam or sauna or a swim in the indoor pool. So I suggest you pack some board shorts or a swimming costume. Usually, after a massage and a swim we would go to the restaurant for a meal. They have some great meal options-there are vegetarian friendly items on the menu. Alcohol is also served.

Food variety for dinner is limited, especially if you eat veg, chicken and fish only. For 5 star, the accomodation is poor and the prices do not justify it. The spa is fantastic and I think that is the main attraction.

Great stop for a spa and some good food. Beside the spa and bike rental you may need to leave to do more in the midlanda. But if you want to relax this is where you need to go.

What a beautiful place. I booked my weekend away months in advance needing a weekend of relaxation, spoiling myself and quiet. What an experience! From arrival the staff were attentive, professional and friendly. My room was lovely, the food was out of the world and offered something for everyone. The spa… wow. I was in heaven. Thank you to the ladies for spoiling me and especially Andile for my massage. I felt amazing that floatation pool is lovely. I would recommend Fordoun to anyone wanting a weekend of peace, luxury and pampering. And good food. Thank you too all the staff.

Beautiful old world hotel. Professional and friendly service. Ideally located in the heart of the KZN Midlands close to the N3 but away from the hustle and bustle.

Luxury in nature. Open, natural, peaceful, beautiful. Floatation tank, awesome spa, sauna, steam room, gym, restaurant, warm pool, cold pool. Quiet. Healing. Wow.

Normally my wife n I have the tradition of spending our wedding anniversary with you guys. Unfortunately this year we missed out on that opportunity due to my wife being heavily pregnant. Inspite of this we still decided to make a trip there for her birthday on the 16th of december and for the first time we stayed at the self catering units, and honestly we were not disappointed quite the contrary we were blown away. It is an absolutely wonderful experience. So peaceful and calm and views we didnt know you had (even though its the 4th time we've been there).
I cant recommend this enough to anyone. We cant wait to come back with our little one to enjoy your stunning venue with her too.

Spent an awesome five days at Fordoun, very relaxing, awesome environment, food, pools indoor heated and outdoor, bicycles and cycling track, great for mountain bikers and trail runners, great food. Five Star Service.

My wife and I have been coming to fordoun since we started dating. Its a fantastic place and we always enjoy the packages! Food is also great — especially the pork belly.

What an enjoyable stay! We stayed at Fordoun as we were attending a wedding at a location nearby. We had flown from Dubai. We were very happy and delighted with our stay. From the wonderful welcome to the wonderful staff, the little cute rooms (the floor heating was to die for), the rooms were so well stocked with snacks and coffee/tea making facilities, the rooms were cleaned and ready so so so quickly! The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was phenomenal. I honestly have nothing to fault! We stay in many different hotels when we travel and I will always have a special place in my heart for Fordoun! thank you for the incredible stay! For anyone looking into staying at Fordoun — DO IT! Book now!

Don't be fooled by the Hotel rating and reputation. As far as a spa facility is concerned this is far below average. This is not a world class spa experience if you are a seasoned spa goer. Be warned.

Very romantic place for couple. Quality of the food is top. Friendly, helpful, smiley staffs. Room is clean, cozy, well designed. Sweet and bedtime story for adult is placed on pillow at night is really cute. I had 2 hours treatment including steam, body clay mask, hot stone massage. It was very good.

Fordoun Spa is set in a magical place. Rooms are renovated farm buildings with modern fittings. Bathrooms are spacious and the spa is good retreat.

Only the best. Rooms are luxurious but you feel right at home. Trout fishing on site. These people know about customer service. One of my favorite places to stay.

My hubby surprised me with a weekend at your Spa for our Anniversary. We had the most remarkable experience from the awesome Spa treatments to the delectable food served to the friendly and always obliging staff to actually meeting family that own the Spa and learning a bit of the history of the place which I found to be remarkable. I cannot wait to take my daughter for mum and daughter getaway. I will become a regular here. The untouched wilderness and greenery in The Midlands is so appealing to people like us that need to get away from the rat race we face everyday. Jules you were an amazing hostess and we felt special every step of the way… as for The Rasul treatment … well… that was simply everything a couple looking to reconnect need. Thank you Fordoun Hotel & Spa… Please do not change the special way you run this establishment… God Bless.

Very beautiful place. Serene. A lovely getaway. However, we found a spot with quite a stench… it seemed to be away from the living quarters though. And the spa seemed to have a wide range of services on offer, however far too expensive for me.
