This place was disgusting. We booked here for our last night of honeymoon. Not only was the room not what was advertised in the pictures but it was dirty, smelly and had exposed wires.

The staff is by far the most amazing.
I love it.

What a dive. DO NOT book here. Place is filthy. Carpets stained. No towels even at 18:00. Even found a used pregnancy test in the wardrobe. Place makes my skin crawl. Staff are completely unhelpful and rude. Milk is cremora that I don't even use in my own home. Terrible beyond belief. Disgusted. And they refuse to give refunds.

They stole my niece cellphone. The manager is nowhere to be found in order to check the security cameras apparently he is taking a walk and he is not picking up his cellphone!

I love the hotel staff is friendly and place is clean the only thing need to change lift.

Very clean, people are friendly and will help anytime, car is safe under a roof and security guard looking after your car. Internet is slow.

Paid to have breakfast and when I got at the dining hall it was packed with no space to seat to enjoy my breakfast. I asked if I can take my breakfast and eat in my room but the answer was NO, had to go and eat breakfast at the restaurant.

Great hotel. The courtyard area at night is amazing and also for breakfast outside. Safe in the heart of the city. Staff are very friendly.

Durban Manor hotel is superb. Besides the beautiful view of the Yacht Club and the Harbour the Hotel staff are so welcoming. The rooms are built for comfort and the breakfast they serve is divine. I would recommend this Hotel anytime.

The hotel is in an antique old building which needs some paint especially on the Leslie lane side. It will not cost much for a few tins of green and black paint on the iron bars. It is not looking good at all. However, I got a good room with wooden tiles as I had hoped. I did not want a carpeted room because of mold and stuffy smell. The room was clean and the white sheets were always clean. I enjoyed the room size-perfect. The aircon was not heating. The workers are very polite and helpful. Great staff from reception to cleaners. Overall I had a good stay. Life is not perfect.

Very quiet and relaxed place and recommended for an inner city escape in Durban. The hotel is housed is a really old building with very modest upkeep but is fairly well maintained. Rooms were remarkably clean and beds were soft and comfortable very nice hotel linen as expected in most decent establishments. I opted for a very modest budget room that suited my needs quite nicely.

Best places I have slept at. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit Durban.

I wás not happy with the state of the room. The lights in the room were not working at all, dependent on sidelamps. We were given 1 bath towel 1 hand towel to share. We ran out of toilet paper mid stay. Reception was PERFECT though.

The things you see on the website is totally opposite to what you get… everything is just out and dull… its like they totally lost interest in maintaining the hotel. Id never come back to it ever… worst place guaranteed. The place must just be closed down! I'm so pissed off.

Old hotel but we had a very nice 1 night stay over there and it was nice and clean staff very friendly.

Clean. No noise here. Very friendly staff, really. 100% breakfast. Short walk to quick shopping, niteclub, restaurants. Right next to ocean.

Room was small but comfortable. In some rooms internet is good, and in some rooms it's worse.

The hotel is definitely not what the pictures show. It's an old dilapidated building. We were suppose to stay for 3 nights but could only stay for 1 night cause it's terrible.

When you are on a low budget it is really good… their food is to die for just that the rooms are a bit old. The carpets need a good washing.

It's convenient and quiet enough for all the basic provisions of a hotel. Nothing fancy or above average. Great breakfast though!

When I booked in a had an accident in the parking garage. Parking congested. Room with a view means room with a view of the roof and a tiny bit of the sea. I just booked out immediately. What an immense disappointment. I wanted to stay there for years and when I at last did it was everything but what I was expecting. So sad. Lost my money.

Quaint, Secluded and noble. Gives a sense of private abandon. Once in u forget the world.

A lovely historic building. Lots of the furniture is from 1904. It's absolutely beautiful. Our room has a few of the harbour. The bed is comfortable and it has basic dstv. The fridge is ice cold and the aircon works well. Our room had a shower/bath.

Chilled atmosphere… love the place would use it again.

I enjoyed my stay here. It's a peaceful place although their building looks Abit old on the outside. Nice and safe parking lot for Cars. I am definitely coming back end of Oct.

Looks very upmarket from the outset, but the building is shabby and in need of a paint job besides much else. Terrible staff training and slow service with mediocre food.

The place is so inviting, yes bedrooms are dated but with improvement sure it will look better, bathrooms really need a revamp, service is top notch (staff) food is always fresh facilities can be improved with time.

It's a timeless piece of architecture, hidden in the modern city of Durban. Very spacious and very clean. And the interior of the building keeps up with the theme of the exterior which is 1850s architecture.

Good setup. A bit dated. Good fir lawyers as the Durban high court is next door.

This hotel has got the friendliest, most respectable staff you will ever come across. From managent to the cleaners. The place is incredibly clean and gets thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. The courtyard is so beautiful and the architecture gives you a sense of the 1800's, a fact that should be more clearly stated in advertisements. Not all like the not-so-modern type of accomodation and sadly you don't know this before hand. The initial room we were given was incr…edibly small and looked more like a servants quarter then an actual hotel room. Those rooms should never ever be offered to people as accomodation and if it is, their price should be adjusted tremendously. Yes, sadly the hotel is not located in the best area, but it was pretty central for us since we needed to be close to the playhouse theatre. The place needs alot of work. I wish someone in management would pay attention to it. But my husband and I had a beautiful stay here in spite of some issues. The beautiful staff, the beautiful building, the beautiful courtyard and the beautiful food made up for everything else! Miss you Durban Manor!

Dis is our second day at dis place wit my gf tmrw wil be our last. I cn guarantee u m very much impressed I hav zero complaints bwt de place. The welcoming n friendly staff 'on point'. I'd recommend it to anyone who is less critic.

Bad part of town, attracts wrong kind of people. Used to b a grand hotel in 70s, so the building is quite impressive, but has been neglected over the years.

There are much better places to stay. It needs a lot of work doing. Like the air con fixing. Got bit to pieces by mosquitos. Not in the best area so please always use a taxi while travelling at night times. We had only been there 4 hours when we got mugged at Knife point. Our fault I know for not getting a taxi. Much better hotels near the casino as we found out when we returned and stayed there later on out journey.

I loved visiting this hotel. The hotel staff were friendly, and being hit by flashbacks of yesteryear was overall a great experience. The restaurant though, with its fresh dishes, but limiting menu items, seemed like I was dining with The Shining's Jack Torrance. The view is pleasing, whether it's upon the inner tranquil courtyard, or out on the docks, it's surely a sight to enjoy. I love to explore old buildings, and the innards of the hotel will definitely provide with enough to explore, you might find the Jan Smuts room, the first bathtub installed in the Durban area, and many other interesting items of historical value. The hotel is also situated a walks distance from everything you need, that is if you don't mind walking. I've found Wilson's Warf filled with enough restaurants for a week's visit, and a 2 km distance from Ushaka Marine World. Without the bells and whistles, it's basically everything you'd expect from your average 3 star hotel.

The hotel is near to the tourists attraction areas. Its clean and rates re affordable.

Place is a bit old but kept clean and staff consistently friendly and helpful. Great if you need a decent, safe place to sleep with decent shower.

Eventhough the staff tried to be accompanying in many ways, they could unfortunately not contain other guests. My 11 night stay changed to a one night and never again after a not so nice Sunday afternoon and being kept awake until 2am after various complaints. A hostel feel with guests drinking in the hallway and noises and banging and yelling 24hours! Website definitely not a picture of the real deal.

The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, the air conditioners are working well. It is indeed a good hotel to visit.
