The most outstanding hotel with the best owners. If I could live there I would. The rooms are beautiful.

Great atmosphere and the staff where so friendly.

It's just awesome nice rooms good food everything is on point.

My opinion is limited to the reception and dining area but This hotel really defines boutique; it's intimate, very classy, excellent service with a smile and the food is exceptionally good. A bit small but I suppose that's part of the boutique experience. Not really very wheel chair friendly. They have Wi-Fi (ask for password at reception). I went to watch a live performance and the music was great and well suited for the hotel atmosphere and ambience. In my opinion the main restroom could use a paint job but it was clean and neat nonetheless. Perfect for business meetings and romantic dinners and stay overs. They have standard cocktails with a few really good signature ones and the wine list is extensive and they have a fully equipped bar.

Good experience and friendly staff, however they only have a few staff working in the restaurant and breakfast takes forever to be served especially when they are busy. Another disappointment was with house keeping, the body wash and shower cap were not replenished daily. I had to make use of the same disposable shower cap throughout my stay and purchase my own body wash. Not impressed as this is a "four star" hotel.

It's not close to 4 star for sure, the rooms are ok and the bar/restaurant is ok. Alot of street noise and no parking.

Great service and location!

After I paid my bill today (19-05) I left about 10 PM to the restaurant across the street. The male receptionist looked at me so badly and dirty. I do not want to be treated like this, especially as a regular customer!

Old long established and revamped hotel and pub. Visited more out of nostalgia than for anything else. The memories got it a 4 ****, not the hoitel itself.

Spent 9 nights there. The entire staff was Amazzzzing. Um definitely coming back with my squad.

Scary area — Horrible views (Their excuse for this is that it's a urban hotel or something like that). The one night I was woken up by people fighting on the road. Had to park my car on the road because the staff said it the car is too low and the front bumper would get scratched if I tried to take it done into the underground parking — fair enough, but given the area other arrangements should have been made. Proper parking was only arranged for me on the last night of my stay. Also found a cockroach in my room Furthermore, when you complain on a review, you'll get snooty remarks back from management about how it's an urban hotel and if you don't understand that, there's nothing they can do and if you prefer the coldness of one of the big names then that's also up to you — this is bull, there's nothing warm about this hotel… I usually prefer guesthouses — rooms are bigger, more stylish, less used and the atmosphere very warm.

Located in a small town, there are several restaurants and supermarkets.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, clean environment.
Breakfast very varied and super plentiful.
In the area I recommend it.

I just spoke to an incredibly rude lady called Michelle over the phone. Her attitude was like nothing I have ever experienced. The error was made in the hotel's side, yet she has the audacity to talk to me as if it was my doing. Michelle you are beyond rude and you need thorough training on how to talk to clients. One would think you were raised in a unmannered, uncivilized environment. Disgusting!

The state of the art, the hygiene. And the is lots of fun. Some karaoke music and salsa dance. Definitely a place to be.

Very nice quite clean and perfect for the relation price quality.

The live band music was nice and the special treatment I got from the waiter was out of this world. The music was super the band made my night.

Good vibes, they dont have a wide variety of beer though.

Great location. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are equipped with everything you need including nice clean comfortable beds. The bar is open and friendly, and there are great restaurants within 2 blocks.

Lovely ambience, great coffee.

The music was outstanding from Jeff Dix. The waiter was very attentive and polite. Pity when I asked for a fish dish, the Fish was not available which has happened before. Not very nice if the menu has not got the dishes which are offered on hand.

We'll a very nice and chilled area here in Norwood with lots of restaurants to wine and dine.

Been here for breakfast a couple of times but haven't booked a room. Usually not very busy and an easy place to have a meeting. The food and coffee is very decent and reasonably priced. The menu is simple and uncomplicated but does lack the selection and variety one might expect from a place that looks and feels like the Ascot Hotel. The staff are very friendly and it's generally easy to find parking outside on the street. Norwood, Grant avenue in particular, has a lot of great places to grab a meal but mostly lunches and dinners. The Ascot Hotel is worth a visit if you're looking for decent and easy breakfast in the city.

My husband and I really loved the cosy room, nice dinner and champagne. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is cosy, lovely. Breakfast was great as well.

A fine effort to bring a dash of Cosmoploitan class to Norwood, a Joburg suburb not lately known for pizazz. Fine (really) wine by the glass, great single malts, an open fire in winter and an open terrace in summer. Friendly staff, a cracking dj and a more than efficient menu. Nice.

Ascot Hotel is every thing but what they advertise it to be on there web site! non of the pictures on the site even closely resembles how the place realy looks! it is no 4 star luxury boutique hotel they claim it to be, it is so ugly and badly situated that we did not reconize it the first time we past it, no glamoures glass entrances with bright lights and fine art pieces outside and red carpets! NOOO, more the look of a dodgy crack house or strip club! very very bad place and realy false advertizing!

Nice, fresh and not expensive.
