Rysara Hotel

A friend and I spent one night at this hotel before joining a tour group the next day. What a lovely hotel, where we were received with a warm welcome, with a glass of refreshing hibiscus juice. It was so delicious that my friend made her own upon our return to South Africa! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is not asian friendly! Beware!
The restaurant staff specifically the waitress that served us during our stay January 23, 2024 during dinner time was rude and treats asian differently than white customers, short tempered and easily gets annoyed if you ask questions.
Our stay and food was paid by the company and we wanted to try out most of the food on the menu and also we were so hungry that time but the waitress refused to serve us a second main.
We ask why we can only order 1 entree, 1 main and 1 dessert and explained to her that we are still hungry and to order at least 1 more main but we were refused! FYI our waitress on the previous night served us any food that we want. We mentioned it to her but she simply replied not on her watch! With attitude and gesture as if she owns the restaurant!
We would have been fine is she just said its not available but its a clear power trip!
We ordered at around 7:15 pm and got served after almost an hour for the entrees.
After finishing entree we had to wait for 45 mins again for our main, As were the least accommodated customers compare to caucasian customers.
We finished our main almost immediately because we are hungry even though 4 sides out of the 6 mains were served wrong! Some ordered fries and noodles as side but they just served us rice with steak along with other mains. I guess if you're asian they assume just give them rice LOL.

Our reservation at another hotel fell through and we were very graciously welcomed by staff in the middle of the night. Morning staff was also fabulous and went above and beyond to take care of us.
The rooms were very clean, modern, and well equipped. It was especially nice to have good air conditioning.

Love love love this hotel! The rooms are stellar, breakfast buffet is really nice and the dine-in menu incredible. I stayed long enough to sample a few items and everything was always on point!

We initially booked a two night stay and then we were going out of Dakar but returning later. We liked this hotel so much that we booked it again for our return. It is a quiet oasis in the city, a walkable distance from many restaurants, a beach and other attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On our first stay they gave us a complementary upgrade for the room and on our second stay a complementary fold-down bed. The provided free breakfast was ample and good quality. Their restaurant has a nice outdoor courtyard. We had a problem with our room one night which was handled professionally and quickly. I also think the value here is quite good. Other hotels we looked at that seemed similar quality were generally 1 1/2 to 2 times the price. I would definitely stay here again.

Modern room with a nice local vibe, everything functioning well, with a bit of wear. Well cleaned. Excellent Wi-Fi for video calls. No iron, but laundry/dry-cleaning possible. Staff very welcoming and very friendly.
It's a small boutique hotel with no pool/gym, but is also without the taxis, vendors and visible security at larger, similarly-priced hotels like the Novotel. It is at the southern edge of Plateau, so very quiet, esp after business hours. Also close to Cap Manuel, where people walk/run Sunday mornings and enjoy the sea views.
Breakfast came with stay. Reviews suggest that it is limited, but there is a decent spread and one can ask for eggs prepared various ways, including as an omelette. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant has excellent quality (esp salads and seafood) and reasonable prices, which makes up for the lack of other restaurants nearby. Local expats know it well as they prefer it for business lunches.

Stayed with them for about 1.5 days. Check in and check out experience was great. Warm, polite and friendly people everywhere. The restaurant gets a special mention as the food did take some time to arrive but it was worth it. The taste and most of all the quantity was superb. Helpful staff and service with a smile. No complaints at all. Tried all vegetarian dishes during meals and as expected the options aren't that much so had to be content with whatever was on offer in the menu. The room was spacious and well maintained, air conditioner worked fine and the bathroom gets a special mention for being bigger than most of the other hotels I have been to. Extremely good design. Everything worked well. Comfortable beddings and clean sheets. Locker available in the room, small but adequate mini bar, view wasn't much from the room but given the location it wasn't expected. The only complain I can say is that the room wasn't bug free. Couple of mosquitoes and a flying insect did manage to keep me awake for half the night. Also the elevator is quite small and stops with quite a jerk. The stairs are very much comfortable though. Location wise, I didn't get around much but saw a small shop nearby and everything seemed nearby.
Would definitely recommend the hotel for business stays and for the food. 🙏👍
