What a great hotel! The rooms and general ambience is lovely, at a very competitive pricing. We spent 5 nights, there’s always things happening and the space is buzzing with people. The real star of it all is Loman herself, what a pleasure to get to know her and her vision for this beautiful space. The location is great because you are in the middle of the city so both the north (almadies) and south (plateau) of the city are quite accessible. I would recommend staying here 100%!

Loman Art in Dakar is a unique guesthouse that blends art, comfort, and Senegalese hospitality.
We stayed with our kids in Loman’s house for 3 nights last April and we all enjoyed it. 
This place is amazing, different, you are Loman’s guests in her very arty house. You feel like at home.
And there is always something happening: art exhibition, yoga class by the pool, theme nights food on the rooftop bar etc. 
We loved it, it is a peaceful place to stay in Dakar and meeting Loman is also something. She is amazingly interesting and a passionate person with a very big heart and very talented too. We loved her work, so much that we brought back home a piece of her art. If you are looking for the human element of travel, a meaningful interaction, this is the place to stay in Dakar.

Loman Art Villa feels less like a guesthouse and more like a living archive. Metalwork flashes in the Sahel light, and the walls carry the marks of time. The space is arranged for more than rest, it stages encounters: conversations lingering by the pool, fabrics and laughter carried on the rooftop breeze. Each room reads like a small essay in repair and reuse, with welded reliefs, carved stools, and plants quietly curating their own corners.
Hospitality here is not a service but a method. Artists, travelers, and neighbors gather into a temporary commons where workshops and shared meals blur exhibition with everyday life. The villa’s architecture looks both to the Atlantic and to Dakar’s restless vernacular, refusing the sealed white cube in favor of porous thresholds and convivial improvisation. You arrive as a visitor and soon realize you’re already implicated: in the city’s creative ecologies, in the economies of care that sustain them, in the soft infrastructures that make art a daily, collective habit.

I cannot speak for the hotel itself because I was not staying there, but I can speak for the gallery! Amazing and free gallery highlighting local artists with an array of mediums. Tastefully curated & perfect space to also wfh if you go to the cafe/bar! A definite must if you are in Dakar!

Loman is an incredibly kind woman who went out of her way to decorate our room/apartment for our wedding night on short notice. The entire experience left an indelible mark and I couldn’t recommend this place enough. A+++ The Art, The vibe of the place is unlike anything Dakar has to offer.

Its a beautiful place. Come to visit the interesting art in the gallery, and appreciate the skilled metalwork all around the building. Enjoy a drink in the rooftop bar and watch the birds.

The place is beautiful and the people are very nice. The room we slept in was a good place to rest after a whole day of walking around the city, but we also gladly slipped out of it to one of the many atmospheric terraces. The bed was comfortable, the room relatively quiet — there is a large tree full of birds outside the window, so they made some nice noise, but they allowed us to take a closer look at several local bird species (black kite, weaver, magpie ravens), so already at the hotel you can feel like you are on safari. We started each day with a delicious breakfast, making friends with the dogs and turtles living on the hotel premises. The place is also a gallery, so the traveler is surrounded by art — you can even look at the work of an artist who has his workshop in one of the courtyards. Is there a better way to start a trip around Senegal?

I only went for coffee and brunch (for some reason my booking to stay here had to be cancelled).
But what a great spot. Art abounds, plants and dogs are everywhere — lovely.

An exceptional place to stay if you are a lover of art. Loman is such a warm soul herself and her team makes your stay worth the while. Everyone there is super helpful and very friendly. Loved the breakfast and the ease of getting a ride from the location.
This place will now permanently be my home away from home whenever I'm in Senegal.

Best value accommodation in Dakar. Huge rooms, tasteful furniture, a/c, fans, hugely comfortable mosquito nets. Spotlessly clean. The house is extensive with many areas for working, relaxing or even to hold business meetings: a patio, a pool side garden, balconies and a huge roof terrace. The restaurant serves a good range of delicious foods and local juices. Walking distance to a couple of amazing beaches, 5min taxi ride to Almadies and petite Corniche.

Lovely spot for dinner or coffee and checking out the art. Rooftop terrace is a highlight. Small boutique has nice items that you don’t find elsewhere.

When we entered we were greeted warmly by the staff and shortly after we were served what we ordered and enjoyed our beverages. During that we observed the owner of the place speaking in an absolutely disrespectful and condescending way with the staff of the place. Therefore the working conditions don't seem acceptable and we don't want to support this business anymore. We can't recommend it to anyone.

I encountered an unsettling experience at a hotel. There was very loud music playing, and people were shouting late into the night. Apparently there was a party which we were not announced about beforehand. Around 23:45, I went to the reception to ask when the noise would end as we didn't get such information at the check in time. But before answering I was asked about my nationality which was weird. I replied that this doesn’t matter in the context of the question. That felt a little bit xenophobic and not professional.
However, the owner was friendly. We were able to deposit our luggage and take a shower after a long day in the city, and they were genuinely sad about our experience. The room was nice and there is food at the restaurant.

Our family recently stayed at Loman Art House for our son's wedding on May 1. WOW! We watched as the main first floor space and 3rd floor space transformed into a magical wedding venue. All the special touches and attention to detail made this location the perfect place for their special day. Many thanks Loman!

This venue hosted our daughter’s wedding on May 1st & did an exceptional job! The pool area was beautifully decorated to include a bar area, live entertainment & DJ area, and seating for dinner. Beautiful decor floated in the pool, & a platform was provided for dancing and to allow guests to cut across the pool rather than walking around it. A large room just inside provided food that was catered by Maison Amie’s (another exceptional job! ). Overall, a fantastic experience!

Nice place to hang out in Dakar, good Wi-Fi and drinks. I loved it was filled with cats, dogs and turtles. We had lunch here, the service was extremely slow but aligned with the rest of the service around Dakar in my experience. The clothing shop on site is amazing but cash only.

Visited during the afternoon to view the art and have some drinks. Beautiful and colorful art made mainly from scrap metals and material. Such profound art. Loved the colors and creativity. Had the privilege to meet the artist and expressed my appreciation for her and her teams work. Had a great afternoon here. Definitely worth visiting and highly recommend.
