Don’t use the Makkah Hilton laundry unless you really have to. An abaya I sent for dry cleaning was returned to me the same day, however the garment was not cleaned properly and had many additional marks on it that were not there before. The laundry manager denied any responsibility and argued at great length in an aggressive and dismissive manner, treating me like a liar who was trying to scam them out of 150 SR which is strange because the room rates start at around 700-800 SR a night! The laundry manager even resorted to a false statement saying “Dry cleaning does not remove dirt it only removes oil and perspiration”. After multiple inspections by laundry staff and multiple visits to the Service Desk the issue was still unresolved after 3 days when my trip came to an end. They offered to dry clean it again but I did not trust them to re-clean the garment because if they couldn’t get it right the first time why should they be trusted a second time. Some helpful tips: 1. Pack an extra abaya or two if you have space or weight in your luggage. 2. Check your garments thoroughly in a bright light before sending them for dry cleaning. Note any dirt marks, stains or defects especially towards the bottom of the garments. 3. When your garments are returned immediately inspect them thoroughly in a bright light to ensure they have been cleaned to your expectation. 4. In case of problems insist to see the manager in charge of the laundry department (only he has the authority to make a decision) 5. Conduct your discussion and make your claim at the Service Desk in the Reception area. Refuse to go anywhere else until the matter has been dealt with to your satisfaction. 6. Don’t allow the matter to be deferred to the next day, get it resolved there and then.

Nightly rates from $1 280
