The King Fish Beach Hotel

The service here was HORRIBLE! The food took long to arrive and the it was subpar in terms of taste and presentation l.
The staff kept changing the prices for swimming and paddling! And it was supposed to be paid to the staff personally (very suss). There’s no way to cross check the prices like a catalog or something!
Terrible experience overall!

There could be more wrong with this place. 1. Food took forever to come (1-2 hrs) and did not taste good there was no flavour. Drinks were bad too (juices/teas) 2. Service was so bad no one coming to take orders or check to see if you need anything. 3. Prices kept changing e. G. If you wanted to swim suddenly there was a huge cost. If you wanted to go for paddle boating the timr was 30 mins then 20 then 10. They keep trying to scam you at every moment.
The view is pretty. Thats the only good thing. But go somewhere else for it.

Myself and friends visited this place after 2 hours journey and the response we got from Manager and their collegues is totaly frustrating. I never recommend anybody to visit this Resort. The cuatomer service is totally pathetic and ignorance from all the sides👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

I came in this place with my family. We traveled for more than a hour and came while it rains.
The personnel for the boat were pretty decent, nothing much to add.
My main issue was the resort's staff when we came to the restaurant section to eat. Due to the weather, we couldn't swim so we decided to go eat and leave.
When we ordered our food. It didn't took 1 but 2 HOURS to come. Not only that, the waiter told us it'd take 45 mins but it took all that time and didn't notify us😭. All that waiting, and our food they delivered weren't up to the standards. How can you call yourself a 4 star resort when you can even take of your customers and feed them properly?
But the Location was still decent, took a few pics for y'all to see.

Nice place, but the food is not satisfactory. The salad is almost all carrots and onions…

Poor quality life jackets (even those were not enough to provide seat by seat customers), extremely delayed food serving, food was not hot, fish was not fresh, waiters too overwhelmed and frustrated because of loaded customers, just 2, 3 waiters serving the outdoor guests. Will not visit here again.

I had a very disappointing experience at King Fisher Resort. The service was incredibly poor—our food took hours to arrive, and to make matters worse, certain customers were given obvious preferential treatment while others, like us, were left waiting endlessly. This favoritism was both unprofessional and disheartening.
When we tried to address the issue, we were informed that the manager was absent, leaving the staff completely disorganized and unaccountable. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience, and I would not recommend this resort to anyone expecting fair and timely service.

Our visit to this place with kids turned out to be a frustrating experience due to incredibly poor customer service and mismanagement. The problems started right at the parking area, where we had to wait for a boat to cross the lake. Despite it being their responsibility, there weren’t enough life jackets available, and the captain refused to move without everyone being equipped. This caused a 45-minute delay for what was supposed to be a 5-minute boat ride.
Once we finally arrived, the experience only worsened. We ordered simple dishes like pizza and fish immediately upon reaching, but the food took over two hours to arrive. The waitstaff were unresponsive, and it was only after escalating to the manager that someone finally came to take our order. However, even after that, the service remained unacceptably slow, with the staff disappearing and showing no sense of responsibility or courtesy.
This venue has no service with long waits and zero effort to make the experience enjoyable. I would not recommend it unless you have endless patience and time to spare. We certainly won’t be coming back.

I am currently staying here, booked 2 rooms for 2 nights with my Mom and my Aunt but we are having a terrible experience unfortunately. Neither the direct mobile number nor the intercom are picked up when we need help, so I always have to walk all the way to the reception incase of anything. We ordered in dinner last night, after dinner I asked for the plates to be taken away but I was surprised to wake up finding the plates still outside the door and the remaining food scattered all over. Today is my Mom’s birthday but unfortunately it has already started with breakfast arriving an hour late despite me explaining to the receptionist that we need it on time for health reasons. The toilets also have a funky smell. I am very disappointed after only one night here and we still have another night left. 😔

We came here just for some relaxing time, not living in the hotel, had lunch, we ordered fish, 20000rwf for a small fish and chips (3000rwf), they offer very tiny mayonnaise, when I ask for adding a bit more mayonnaise, the waitress requests me to pay 1000 Rwf extra which I have never met this situation anywhere in the world, and which explains our family are the only clients in the whole place, and more what I feel very uncomfortable is that they charge 2000 Rwf per person for the boat from their reception to the restaurant. The owner is greedy for money at every chance while ignore their service,
The place has nice view but service is the worst, even when we ask for bill, it takes over 30 mins, and we are the only table here! never come here is best choice!

This place is fine but the road to it is very bad, it had two rounds towards it, one that goes straight to the place and another one that requires to leave the car at the one side of the lake and cross by boat, which is a bad experience, if the other straight road would be a good one, it can be best experience.

The service was beyond atrocious, with staff completely ignoring our repeated inquiries about the delay. We finally left, hungry and frustrated. This place is a disaster—terribly managed, with appalling service. Avoid at all costs if you value your time and sanity!

Our experience at Kingfisher was horrendous. We arrived as a group of 7 and ordered food, expecting to enjoy a meal by the beach. After waiting for an excruciating 1 hour and 25 minutes, our food still hadn’t arrived. When we asked the waitress about the delay, she rudely dismissed us, saying, ‘It’s not my mistake, it’s the kitchen’s mistake. ’ This level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability is unacceptable. We left hungry and furious. The service is atrocious, the staff is disrespectful, and the management is clearly incompetent. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!

Cool place, we really liked it. Cozy, beautiful, on the shore of the lake. There are places to take a walk, have lunch in nature, take a boat ride, or swim in the pool. And here is the most delicious tilapia. We'll come back here again.

The manager John went above and beyond for us whilst we stayed here as part of a bike race. We checked in late and needed breakfast super early but the team here catered for us with a smile :) Thank you so much! Made our week.
