Bucur's Shelter Hostel Hostel

Not my kind of place due to the condition of the amenities such as the toilet and the showers. My friend and I wouldnt attempt to shower during our 1 night stay. Location was okay. Some friendly characters in the hostel brightened up the place. Maybe an experience with a private room and ensuite would have been better but we stayed in a 4 bed dorm.

Very nice ambiance, great attention, comfortable bed. Good value for money.

For 5 weeks, in 3 "sessions", Bucur's was our shelter. — If you want to skip the intro… — Being in București for some work related lectures and an exam, we needed a quiet place that had to be close to the Ministry of Culture / City Center and to be compatible with some rest or study after our boring routine. Being on a very, very tight budget, thank to our employer, the hotels in the city center were out of the question, so a hostel was the solution. BTW, I kinda hate București, it was first time in a hostel and usually I'm a skeptic. I had a little bit of doubt whet it came to staying here, I imagined it being a noisy place, full of neo-hippies / punkers / clubbers / urban pseudo-explorers / semi-strays etc (not that I have something against them) especially after the BAD EXPERIENCE had by some colleagues of mine IN OTHER HOSTELS situated in the București city center (because, lets be honest, Romania is a great place and a magnet for cheap dirty fun). I WAS SO, SO, SO WRONG! — … jump to this part — I don't know if it was because we were lucky or because the staff was awesome and protected us, but for us the hostel was, how should I put it, FAMILY FRIENDLY. The rooms were quiet (even the time we stayed in a 8 person one) and CLEAN. Everything is so WELL ORGANISED. The living room is very well placed, if there's a party there and you are in your room you won't even notice.

Cozy bed, quirky signs around the house, great breakfast selection (eggs with golden yolks, toast, jam, frosted flakes, fruit), ten minute walk from the metro along a pretty canal. They lose a star from the vibes. The common room always had either someone sleeping or an employee snuggling with their lover… also there was no music playing, which could help helped the vibe imo.

One of my favorite hostels in Europe. The owners are very nice and helpful with info about Bucharest. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The location is desirable with a good mix of being close to the center but also in a local neighbourhood with cheap options for bars and restaurants.

A bit of a walk from the city center but definitely do able. Downstairs is a nice area to chill in. The receptionist and the volunteers were very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast consisted of eggs that you prepare yourself and stale disgusting crackers and spread. No fruit.

Nice place to stay and hangout with the friendly people, while you're not away discovering the beautiful city of Bucharest. And it wouldn't be right if I don't complement the beautiful receptionist's humour! Enjoy your stay at "Bucur's Shelter" folks :)

After 6 months travelling around North America and Europe, that was the first time I felt I was at home. All the staff is awesome and they promote an unique atmosphere. Great location, surrounded by many markets and 10min. Walking to the parliament and old town. Excellent structure and always very clean. They were always ready to provide me any request I could have.

I really enjoyed my stay at Bucur's Shelter! The hostel is very nice, the common spaces are cozy and well equipped, there's a courtyard where you can smoke, the beds are comfy, the staff was superfriendly. There's no air conditioning but there was a fan in my room and with the windows open I still slept alright even in the heat of summer. The neighborhood is a little dead, but it's just a ten minute walk to the old town, so it's not a big issue. I'd definitely go back!

I've been to Bucur's Shelter, And it's exactly the kind of hostel that every backpackers should love, where the atmosphere is so great, First I want to say special tahnks to the staf:
— First the Angels's boss Irina, who get so patient with me and my thousand of questions, and be so sweet, and carefull and positive
— Second Andrada to be the most positive person I met during my time in Bucarest, and for the all shot that we have drink together;
— And the last (and the best? ) to… Iona, I'm so happy that people like you exist, and that we met, I really wish the best for the future, and everyone should see more about your worshops, you are very talented.
After all that thanks let's go to the real s. Hit! In Bucur's you have a free breakfast; You have a welcoming shot; you have everything to cook if you want to; you have free Wi-Fi; you have, free biscuits and free candy's all day long; you have a supermarket just next to the hostel; and a night shop next to; you have a free locker after checkin; you have charlie the guinea pig; you have a nice small courtyard; you have THE bean bag who is really epic and impossible to going out of it; you have piata unireii (the central square of the city) just from 10 mins walking distance from the hostel. Bare necissities *Baloo* … and more.

Very cool, cozy and clean hostel, pretty close to the Unirii Square (10 min walking). Friendly atmosphere, cheap accommodation and proximity to the city center and Old Town makes it a must for backpackers and travelers on a budget.

I took the only single double in the hostel and it was nice. But I can not say any other good word because of the big fraud they did with the exchange rate. It was supossed that 70RON must be paid but 104RON was what they charged us. It is well known that every company/person will try to trick you with the exchange rate, but this time was a sci-fi situation… applying us a invented one which actually set a new historical maximum EUR-RON exchange rate. { They laughed at our face }

Cheapest place to stay, kind staff, breakfast was included in the price which was a nice surprise!

The hostel is very nice. The people working there are kind and helpful. The rooms are not quite big but just fine. The instructions hanging around are very funny and creative :) We only visited it for one night but we had a nice stay!

This is the place where you will feel like home and relaxed because everyone is so nice and friendly. Amazing staff, very friendly and ready to help. Good location and price and the breakfast is included! If you are looking for a place to stay alone, not talk to anyone and bore yourself to death — don't go to Bucur's. If you want to meet cool people from many different countries and have fun — this is the place to go! I hope to come back again for a longer stay.

Amazing place, like a home from home. It's a cosy, clean place and you'll meet the best people in the world there!

I spent 3 weeks there and met awesome people every week from every part of the World, the Hostel is 10 minutes walking by Piata Unirii it's really comfortable.
