Lovely hotel and staff in an extremely convenient location. Our room was perfect — it included a huge terrace. Wouldn't change a thing about our stay.

We absolutely fell in love with this place and neighborhood. Friendly and helpful staff. Available parking at not too bad a price across the street. We stood in one of the terrace rooms, beautiful. Can't wait to visit PR again, as well as this lovely hotel.

Love this hotel! It’s close enough to see the sights and do a lot of shopping but quiet too so you can relax.

Such a lovely quaint hotel. Love that they preserved so much of the old architecture and feel of Old San Juan. A lovely rooftop sitting area that overlooks the city with a view of the sea. Truly a little jewel in this city’s crown. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Close to the market area to pick up any last minute forgotten items and history — next to the Cathedral where Prince DeLeon rest. Home away from home.

Great location, housekeeping does an excellent job, clean facility, no restaurant on site, but so many restaurants within walking distance. Staff are kind and courteous. Love the hotel kitty. You don't need a car at this location you can walk to all Old San Juan sites. I recommend this quaint hotel, I would stay here again.

This was a beautiful and culturally gorgeous building, the staff were absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to help me and my friend out, they watched our luggage as we had arrived several hours earlier than check-in time but wanted to explore the Old San Juan streets without lugging our stuff around. They also let us charge our phones while we were out walking around 2, fresh coffee and bottled water, clean rooms and a beautiful shower. The twin beds were some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, and the Rooftop chairs to gaze over the city with were awesome.

This hotel is conveniently located in Viejo San Juan. We did not rent a vehicle. It was our best decision. We walked everywhere. The staff in the hotel is so helpful and friendly. They gave us suggestions to where to go, what to do, where to eat and they always had a smile. They were very friendly with Donna, our service dog. The room was AMAZING! We chose the balcony one. So cozy! We had our own terrace, where we enjoyed a bottle of champagne that one of the owner gave us because it was our marriage anniversary. This is our second year coming to this beautiful place. We love the location, the common areas, the interior design, the rooms and the best, the staff! We will stay in Decanter Hotel again when visiting PR without a doubt.

Absolutely fantastic, I stayed here with 4 other people after a 7 day cruise. It was great, we all loved the hotel. They are surprisingly well staffed — we always found someone at the front desk, and they all spoke really fluent English. Will save it for my next trip!

The room was smaller than what we're accustomed to but it worked out perfectly for our anniversaryi stay. It gave a very close and intimate vibe the entire time there. Customer service is very good as well. We will definitely be staying there again on future trips.

Great stay! Rooms were extremely comfortable. We had a living room, kitchenette and huge balcony overlooking the streets of San Juan. Definitely recommend. We got off a cruise ship and stayed overnight for the next morning flight. Although check in is at 3. As soon as the previous guests left, they prioritized our room for service and we were accommodated by 12:40 pm. Oh and no extra charge like most hotels. Location is great, relaxing and you have the streets below u. Loved this boutique hotel! Brand new, very well kept. Bathrooms are beautiful. Really can’t ask for more. Thank you for being so friendly and accommodating!

An excellent hotel. Wonderful location and great attentive staff. I upgraded to a room with a balcony, and had a beautiful view of the cathedral and the area. You can see the bay and much of the city from the terrace. We bought a bottle of wine and enjoyed the sunset and early evening with the view. A special, homey place, they also offered a simple breakfast which got us started on our day.

Nice place to stay in old San Juan. It has bar and restaurant, where you can have local beer and different kinds of wine and spirit. Nice roof top patio with partial view on the harbour.

The hotel is not a fancy chain but rooms are great and taken care for and the staff will do their best to acommodate your requests and resolve any booking challenges. Overall, highly recommended.

What a disaster. Stayed in room 103. This shouldn't even be considered a hotel room. Basically a 10 x 10 box with no window, just a blind above eye level opening on to the lobby, meaning you can hear everyone entering or exiting the hotel. Great location and I could even live with the noise but for almost $300.00 a night it's a just a complete rip off. Don't be diseaved by the pictures — stay away.

Is a 3 star hotel, clean but nothing else there.

Reserved two nights for a superior queen with breakfast for 2. They tried to check us in to a standard twin at the same rate, telling us they didn't have a queen ready. Night clerk didn't know where rollaway beds were. Also told us they weren't serving breakfast. I didn't notice right away that he didn't return my id and credit card, and it took 3 rounds of going down the next day and explaining what happened, with the clerk assuring me they didn't have them, before the supervisor checked the camera footage and found them in their printer. To his credit, at that point he was very dilligent in tracing and returning them. Told them exactly when we were checking out but there was no clerk there at that time, and it took 10 minutes of ringing the bell, calling their number, and searching the hotel before we found the clerk, who complained he was on break. Beware their bait and switch and avoid checking in or out at night. Plus side they have an excellent live saxophone player and a decent rooftop view.

Old San Juan has always been a multicultural, sociocultural convergence point both international and local. Now for people, families and couples with an Italian food preference L'Osteria de Canter is blooming into a very attractive place for dining, with exceptional attention, treatment and service from all the staff, and it is also to the perfect place share time with family and friends and listen to good music. It is also a perfect place to have private celebrations, private parties, rehearsals and all kind of activities with outstanding results.

The best of both worlds, the outside brings the old charm for his historic architecture and balconies and inside is newly build, (mint) lovely spacious rooms and all the modern comforts. It is also one of the two Hotels in Old San Juan with elevator. And the only one in that area with Solar Panels. Near all! Wonderful service and kind staff. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful, charming hotel. Old colonial-era style building but everything in the room was modern and spotless. Great full breakfast served in the first-floor restaurant, also wonderful service provided at all times. The location cant be beat either, would definitely recommend staying here over other hotels in the area because you can tell its independently owned and that a lot of love was put into the renovation, 5 stars well deserved… and the view from the terrace!

First I found that the price is very good, the cleanliness excellent and as far as the location is adequate which allowed us to know a lot of the surroundings. I will definitely come back and recommend it.

Good value for money. The location also agreed as we could even walk to the port and from there we went to the BACARDI factory that we did not know is Puerto Rican. There is a lot of history and beautiful places to visit. A couple of blocks from the hotel you can appreciate the blue decoration of "cobblestones" so characteristic of San Juan, and their houses multicolor one next to another. A pass!
The hotel has very nice areas and the room, 201, was comfortable and quiet. Clean and untroubled. However, there are a couple of things that did not completely fit me: breakfast, which is supposedly "included" We never saw it (we up a little late but hey, we're rambling! ) ) Apparently breakfast is served up to a certain time when it should be available all the time by being included in the room rate, right? Well, we didn't have that. Why? I also wanted to warn and really draw attention to the fact that they have no service of the so recommended and necessary UBER (I always use it versus taxis because their rates are cheaper) nothing, just cabs. Finally, let us know that one morning we woke up some birds making very loud noises, we were scared, we thought we wanted to peck but fortunately we had the windows closed. Told:
Where are we, in a Hitchcock movie? Be careful with the birds.

Beautiful property! we traveled to the warm islands of the Caribbean. Found this absolutely charming family-owned hotel whose staff service is incredible. Room was clean and common areas well taken care of. Walking distance to ports, forts, Cathedral… not to mention nice chic bars and restaurants as well as authentic cuisine (blends of Cuban and Puerto Rican) One thing I noticed is that the remodeling work is perfect: you can actually have a sense of the 1800 hundreds architecture and Colonial taste. We totally enjoyed our trip and will definitely come back in the near future.

I stayed in room 307. Magnificent terrace overlooking the cathedral. The service is 24/7 and always ready to solve everything. I was recommended the Tour of the Bay Biluminescent and El Yunque. It was great! I'll definitely be back. Beautiful architecture.

I've recently been spending a few days in the Decanter Hotel. This beautiful corner, full of history, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy this beautiful city as it is in the center. Provide impeccable service, their rooms are comfortable and cosy with excellent internet connection. I would definitely recommend it.
