Quinta das Vinhas

Average rating by guests Quinta das Vinhas: 3.5/5.0
Reviews 13

The 1st floor of the manor house includes the old kitchen, adapted now to a dining room but having kept the original water filter and bread oven. The old chapel was converted into a reading room and bedrooms.

Quinta das Vinhas is made of a 17th century house, 2 outdoor pools and small houses spread through the property, filled with vineyards. It is located in Calheta, Madeira Island.

The terrace with benches and centenary oak trees provides a tranquil setting for relaxation.

The small houses allow guests to prepare their own meals. Quinta das Vinhas provides guests of the houses with a welcome basket and fresh bread daily.

Funchal is 36 km from Quinta das Vinhas, and Madeira Airport is a 45-minute drive.

Nightly rates from $99 to $114.

Room OK, but dinner that was offered was too late for our taste (20:00). Took too long between the courses and was not well prepared. So keep to lodging and breakfast

It is not a 4 star hotel, for 2 stars it would be completely in ok!
Water glasses in the room were neither changed nor rinsed!
The coffee for breakfast more than bad!
1 sausage and cheese sus choice (both not good quality) and the same variety was offered daily. The O-juice is divided and the breakfast must be signed every day — serves for control!
Dinner, tuned price — performance NOT!
Instead of the announced barbecue was served cheap food. The 5 kl. Squid rings came from the TK, ready-made sauce, the tart was bought, 1/4 chicken with rice.
Garden furniture rocked and wobbly, the parasol not usable, since the stand is defective. No ashtrays, no fridge to cool drinks and other!
Staff
THE VIEW HOWEVER PHENOMENAL!
Luckily in the annex a room preserved, quiet and lovingly furnished!
Opposite is a supermarket where you can get BARista coffee. In the morning there my coffee drank and covered me with bread rolls and sausage for the hotel breakfast.
I checked out there and moved at my own expense to a 2 star hotel, which already deserves 3 stars for breakfast!

Hi, I was also there recently and can only confirm that it really is no more than a better guesthouse in Madeira, which should be recognized a hotel status of any category!

Romantic accommodation in the vineyards above Calheta, consisting of a main house (where there are rooms as well as breakfast and dinner) and several small houses on the hillside. All houses are stylishly furnished and have modern bathrooms. The location is top and the staff very friendly. If you like it rustic, without schicki micki, you will like it very much.

Really nice cottages, clean pool. Only downside is the beds are hard and there are a lot of barking dogs.
