Fantastic hotel the rooms are lovely and absolutely spotless, with all the facilities including fridge and coffee making machine. The reception staff are really good very welcoming as well as advising what to see and where to go. The location is also very good. It's about a two minute walk to the bus stop where the Autobus drop you from the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Because you can't set zero. 1 hour queue for 10 seconds of elevator. Catch a tourist. Unjustified waiting… The staff is unrivalled in slowness. Run away while there's still time!

The biggest tourist catch ever!
— If you have a transit ticket, just put a one-way ticket on it (1, 45th) and you can use it to get on! So no need to pay the 5, 15th requested.

Beautiful evatore to be seen for its original shape but… A bit closed by the palaces but over an hour in a row for a few second trip. Beautiful view that you have paying a Euro-fifty. To be fair I say that you can see it in a free but with nets in front of ruin the If you pay and can see it from the upper floor without the nets. I think ideal and walk up then pay and see the view from the top of the tower.

A tourist place and a beautiful technological creation. It will be interesting to enter, especially since the view from it opens excellent. What a queue, passed a few times on our hols at various times and it was always busy — 2 hrs min. Lovely piece of machinery. My advise is to skip the elevator queues and use the mall lifts nearby if you're in a hurry.

Definitely a show at night, last ascent shortly after 22.30… Moment in which the row had dwindled dramatically (we had passed by there around 20 just before going to dinner and absolutely discouraged, about 1 hour and a half waiting).
So if you want to enjoy the show from above you have to play cunning, early in the morning or late in the evening, during the day I think it only takes a lot of patience and wait.
Also in this case with the LisboaCard you have free access, otherwise it is advisable to get to the terrace on foot and pay only 1. €5.
The Elevador de Santa Justa, also known as El Grasciaro in the city, is one of the monuments of Baixa, the old town of Lisboneta. The ticket office is located behind the tower, in the descent of Rua do Carmo.
The ascent and the descent take place in two elegant wooden cabins with brass details, this is the peculiarity that fascinates the experience.
It is built in iron and decorated with Quadrifora while at the top of the tower, which is accessed by a narrow spiral staircase, is the esplanade of a place with beautiful views over the Rossio, the Baixa and the castle of São Jorge, located on the opposite Hill, and the Tago River and the ruins of the Carmo convent.

Great view of the city. Even after seeing a ton of other views from around the city, this was still worthwhile. We waited about 45 minutes in the line, but it was totally worth it. We went at night (9:30pm), and would definitely recommend doing it at that time. Came free with our Lisboa card, but I think it was 5.50 otherwise.

The elevator is beautiful and shocking at the tourist level. It brings a lot to the beautiful city of Lisbon, no doubt. But I must say that almost has become a "Guiris": I think the cost is 5 Euros (for years I do not climb) and you have to wait a queue for a long time. My advice: Just back there is another less touristy lift, free, which leads to the same place. Unless you want to do the grace of getting on the elevator for pure turismeo, my opinion is that it's not worth it.

Small secret tip. When driving up, the elevator can be left towards the high city and you can expect a small but fine restaurant there. If you can grab one of the few tables on the edge of the terrain (4 tables), you have a beautiful view over much of the city.

You shouldn't be put off by the long queue and an announced wait of more than an hour. Simply accept the footpath up and drive down with the lift without queuing. That's just as nice.

Visited the other day (19/5/2018) waited an hour for the single lift that was operating. The reason for the long delay is because the lift operator only allows 12 people on the lift which holds 35 and has a 5 minute smoke between going up or down. As mentioned by another poster, there is a small lift behind and you can use it to access the lower viewing platform/walkway via the convent viewing area. Maybe we tourists should simply boycott the lift until a proper service is provided by the operators.

Very tasty fish dishes, especially the grilled pulpo is a force. The staff is genuinely concerned for the well-being of the guests and has wit and charm. It's always a lot of operation and you have to put up with the hustle and bustle.

The structure itself is pretty, but the elevator itself it's not worth the waiting time in my opinion. We waited for around an hour to go up, and later discovered that there's another lift on the street behind that will bring you to the same level (you'll need to climb some stairs too so not a good option if someone is on a wheelchair). It's very nice. It has a beautiful view 360 *. There is always a queue to climb but it is pretty fast to pay entry and €1, 5 to go up to the last level. But if you drive in public transport and you get minimum the one that lasts 24 hours is included the general entrance. Upstairs there is a nice restaurant with normal prices.

It's a tourist scam. You just have to go up a little higher up the shopping streets to get to the bombed church and you can access the bridge for free and especially without queuing. Very nice view. For me it makes no sense to spend €5 (lift) doing an hour to queue up then in 30 seconds, and then having to add 1, €50 to the spiral staircase of the mirador, so I avoided the experience. Coming from the Igreja do Carmo you can practically enjoy the same panorama, free of charge. From outside the metal structure of the Elevador is so peculiar that characterizes the panorama, only the concrete pillar that supports the walkway jars completely with the structure.

A small observation deck. The review is not significant. From the walls of the castle of St. George's view is much bigger and better. The elevator inside is just old. Nothing interesting. You shouldn't have been in the queue for almost two hours. The excitement around the elevator is heated by its owners to get money from tourists. Excellent views, so long as your ok with heights it's well worth a visit. A lift takes you most of the way up then you've a couple of very windy, very steep staircases to the actual top where the view is fantastic. As a nice aside the ticket you purchase to take the lift €10 I think gets you onto the trams and Funicular network free for 24 hrs from the time you purchase them. It's a nice touch.

Can be used 24 hours ticket for other trams. I recommend to go on the sunrise on sunset time, you can make beautiful photo's. When you finish there is another scenic place near cathedral, you can rest over there on deck chairs, drink coffe or tea.

I really liked this elevator. It is an old elevator with the interior of wood and iron structure that is located in the center of the city.

A lovely view but a long wait. Also when we got on there were to many people in the lift so it wouldn't go up. Good thing that it didn't. But after splitting the group we got to go up for a lovely view. The price is high when you but a ticket only for this and I don't think worth wile but when you have a combo public transport ticked that includes this I would recommend heading up there!

Great place from which to admire the city from the top. Once you get to the top by elevator must pay 1, €50 to reach the last level via a spiral staircase. Obviously, it’s touristy but the iron structure is pretty spectacular and the building quite iconic in the city. If you pay, you can take the lift (which is not outstanding, but still fun) and then the stairs to go on the top of the building. The panoramic view over the city is stunning (yes, Lisbon definitely has many spots for breathtaking views). We went there early in the morning and didn’t have to stand in line. If you want to save some money, skip the lift and just pay 1, 50€ to go to the top.

To get just the regular daily underground ticket, but once up on you have to pay an additional 1, €5 to access the latest flight of spiral staircases to enjoy the view. Buy a ticket online or you can buy a ticket in person, you would still have to wait in same line. $5 or $6 Euro per person. I recommend taking the ride as you will see the best view of the city. Probably the most beautiful of the various elevators in Lisbon. It enjoys a remarkable panorama, and it arrives at the High district (Chiado). If you want to avoid the expense of can also climb directly from the high district, and do only the Belvedere. Great place for city view. I went in the evening 10.30pm. The last group to go up. We had around 15 minutes to take picture before it closes for the night. Always check if you are going to make it. You didn't want to wait in the queue and got cut out on the last intake.

A great view over the city but queues are often very long. Try going early or late in the day. We waited less than 15 min at 21:30 midweek in October. The night view over the city was spectacular. Lift ride is included in the 24hr transport pass, just 1.5 euro to optionally go up the spiral staircase to the viewing platform (you should).

The train day pass (6:15€) includes the ride up or down the elevator. It's easier to go down then wait in line to ride up so consider that when planning your day. There's a balcony at the top that cost 1.5€ and provides a great 4 directions view of Lisbon. Enjoy!

Even though the entry fee for this one is included in your 24 hrs viva viagem pass, its only until the platform which connects to the top floor of the hotel in the next block. You have to buy a separate ticket to go up the spiral stairs to the viewpoint above. We waited for almost an hour in the queue and at the end it was all such a waste. You would get a much better view from the other view points around the city.

The line up to this elevator is quite long. And it takes forever because they only have 1 person collecting money and running the elevator. When you get up, the view is stunning, it is a great view of Lisbon. We stayed for around 15mins at the top? And then we crossed the walking bridge to the other side. Where there is a Monastery, Archaeological Museum, a cute little square and lots of restaurants and places to sit and have a coffee or drink. the price is only a couple EUR dollars, and if you have the transit pass, it is included as well.

A must visit to know the marvel of a lift made a century ago. You can choose to not to pay extra and go up the view point above the lift. You can always get a better view from near by places. For entering the elevator, remember to carry your one day ticket for metro train and buses (costs me around 6 Euros in 2017). There will be queue of tourists but it is worth the waiting. You would enjoy seeing the centuries old marvel created by local govt to help people move form lower region of town to the upper part. It is a structural marvel for engineering and architecture students.

, very good hotel nice staff always ready to help, beautiful rooms with free and daily refilled minibar only downside is the constant sewerage stench coming from the sink in the bathroom. they tried fixing it but I think its a known problem all over lisbon… Not a fun way to start your day but you get use to it. all and all the service was grate, the location was very comfortable, the shower was a lot of fun although it didn't have a stable water temperature and kept changing by itself during the shower from cold to very hot to cold again… Still, one of the best hotels in lisbon.

Hotel very well located, close to the main pedestrian street. The service without complaint and staff very friendly and helpful. The street terrace bar is open until midnight. The comfort rooms are not very big but sufficient.

We have not stayed here but we went to the restaurant. The treatment has been of 10, we were attended by a responsible named Arthur, colored, incredibly polite and friendly, has earned us very fast with your smile. Promised very good food for a decent price and that as well has been. Very good hotel restaurant, with ambient music live, played by a blues band and very good decoration and facilities, such as a 4-star hotel should look.

One of the best hotels I have ever slept at. It scores high both on the usually most important characteristics (location, breakfast, tidiness, staff, comfort…) and the small details (coffee, Wi-Fi, power outlets, hygiene accesories…). I am looking forward to my next visit.

Interesting design from the top, beautiful views of the city. The top time to stroll around and to the elevador da Gloria not to forget down to the local lookout point (mirador).

Very good situation. In the center of the city. Staff very professional, friendly and speaking french. The room is modern and in very good condition. Good location, big bathroom. Good bedding, flat on the bed a bit wobbly.

From the roof terrace you have a good view and field of view over large parts of the old town… The€ 5 for the Elevator are well laid out.

Great view over Lisbon. The Elevator ride is recommended from top to down (was alone in the cabin, while below, a long line of decency). Makes sense with a 24-hour Ticket and then the travel costs in addition. The spiral staircase to the very top to cost you anything extra, but just for photo enthusiasts, it's worth it!

Ordered a dish with octopus- 1. Tasted good with good flavor of olive oil snd garlic. 2. However, I also tasted some sand (probably). 3. Octopus was not cleaned well. So rate three stars. Location good. Staff professional. Some need some more training. For example, when you have guests inside the resturant, don't start cleaning up and bang doors. Wait for all guests to leave and start your clean up.
