Ok hostel. Location is not that great. It's not in the town so you have to take tricycle. Because there's nothing around the hostel you kind of have to order breakfast from the hostel. They do not have complimentary breakfast so you have to purchase. Wifi never worked the whole time I stayed there (5 days) which was everyone's frustration. Despite all the negatives, there was a good group of people staying there. Very social and met lots of backpackers. Oh and they have lots of cute dogs.
Review from a traveller on a travel group I am part of — "DO NOT STAY AT THE FAT MONKEY HOSTEL IN CORON, BUSUANGA ISLAND, THE PHILIPPINES. Last Saturday night (03/03/18) a guy related to the hostel owner tried to physically attack my friend and I as he said we were being too loud playing cards. He threatened to smash a litre glass bottle over our heads, he grabbed my phone off me for recording his aggression and smashed it up. He then chased a guy who was defending us with a machete. When questioned about his behaviour he said he would do "whatever the f*ck he wants" including "w*nking all over us stupid sl*t b*tches" before starting to get his penis out. We were then kicked out of the hostel and forced to sleep on the street. We have already been to the police who said, I quote "What do you expect us to do about it? " I'm not looking for advice, attention or admonishment. I only want to warn other travellers, especially women, about this dangerous and misogynistic maniac. I AM NOT warning against travel to the Philippines, Coron or Busuanga Island. Similarly, I am not slagging Filipino people, who I have genuinely found to be the friendliest people in the world. This is one bad egg and bad eggs exist everywhere. I am writing reviews on all the travel websites that I can. I invite anyone who was there that night (there were around 20 witnesses) to do the same if you feel comfortable doing so".

Mobile signal here is ranging from 1 bar to non-existent, but they have a good Wi-Fi signal. Owners were accommodating, and food was okay. I was able to checked-in the one private room upstairs. AC is available, however you have to pay Php200 on top of your daily rental.
