Willander Resort

Willander Resort is definitely a must-try and highly recommended place to stay in Bohol. The staff are friendly, nice, and very accommodating. The location itself is great — and there’s even a 7/11 right outside for extra convenience.
The resort has a clean and spacious pool, plus plenty of Instagrammable spots that make the whole place feel refreshing and relaxing. Our room was clean, spacious, and beautifully designed. We stayed in one of the rooms with a jacuzzi, and it was absolutely worth it.
Perfect for families, couples, and friends — I’ll definitely book here again when I come back with my kids. The place is peaceful, the food is great, and breakfast comes with a buffet that’s super satisfying. Wifi is great as well.
It may not be as large as other big resorts, but it has everything you need:

The resort is beautiful. Rooms are very spacious and has an easy access to the pool from the second floor though the stairs leading to the pool is too steep so be careful when going down. Staffs are very attentive to the concerns and requests. Few things I notice, there is a bad smell when we try to open the shower, we don’t know where it’s coming from, shower and other stuffs in the bathroom are rusty and the bidet was leaking, we almost slipped. The aircon in the room took so long to make the room cool. However it’s okay, there is always a room for improvement and this resort has a lot of potential.

The hotel features a beautiful outdoor pool, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. My room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely balcony with pool access. The staff was friendly and attentive, making my stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxing getaway, and I would definitely recommend it!

The resort was fine, and the rooms were clean. The pool was nice, and each room had its own private deck and entrance into the pool. However, if you were on the second floor, the steps going to the pool were very steep. They played karaoke every night, which was nice and I even got my girlfriend to sing a few songs. The breakfast buffet was great, with lots of selections, and never ran out of food. The only drawback is that there are no restaurants near, so be prepared to walk 10-15 minutes to a restaurant, or you can use a trike.

I had mixed feelings about this place.
Pros:
The location was very convenient as there’s a 7/11 and coffee shop on the site. It was easy to get a ride just outside the hotel as it’s located on the main road. If you did want to walk it to the main area near Alona beach, it’s a very warm walk about 10 minutes (but there was always a bike passing by and I just jumped on.
Cons:
Not the best quality in terms of a hotel. It wasn’t very clean, my sheets were not changed the entire time I was there (4 nights) and I know this because there was a stain on the sheet. In fact mid-way through they just flipped my sheet over, which I thought was really out of order and the thing that has led me to leave this review because it was really annoying that they did that.
There was a gym advertised at the hotel, one of the main reasons I booked as I always work-out while on holiday. The gym was not yet built and would be available in June, why include a picture of it then.
The swimming pool maximum height is 4ft, I am a 5ft 3 petite woman and I struggled to swim comfortably and felt ridiculous each time I stood up and the water came up to my hips. Swimming was my best option of staying active and I wasn’t even able to do that properly.
I was passing by Bohol again during my trip and I had this hotel booked for the night, I ended up cancelling and booking a different one.

Highly Recommended!
We had an excellent experience during our stay. The equipment provided was top-notch, including both hard and soft pillows, indoor and outdoor sandals, and a very nice hair dryer. The shower room was spacious and included a tower for drying swimming suits and a bucket for washing, which was very considerate. It did take some time to figure out how to get hot water from the tap; an explanatory tip would be helpful!
The service was outstanding; the staff were incredibly kind and helpful.
The environment is quiet and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The location is extremely convenient, just 100 pesos by tuk-tuk to Alona Beach. Plus, it's right next to a 7-Eleven and a coffee shop. Additionally, there are some good spa stores nearby, and it's convenient to get a shuttle back.
We definitely plan to come back! Thank you so much for a great experience.

Our stay at Willander Resort was a total delight! They just opened last April 20 and we were so lucky to be the first few ones to have experienced staying at the resort! I requested for an upgrade to a room with direct access and they upgraded it for free! And the birthday surprise they pulled off for me was just the cherry on top. They gave me a cake, bouquet and banner. Just wow! 🤩
The amenities were top-notch, from the big spacious and aesthetic Villa, nice ambience, big screen TV, they even have dedicated workspace inside the room, and free breakfast! Plus, being near Alona Beach was just super convenient, yet the resort itself was peaceful. Not crowded.
But what really won us over was the STAFF — Ms. Jeck and the team were so friendly and accommodating! ❤️ And I love that they even had high chairs for the little ones. We're definitely planning on coming back for another amazing stay!
