sure, no one steals or takes anything,
good facilities and clean,
I would definitely stay again.

Everyone who works in one place is very rude, the rooms noisy and dirty.

Super Cool! Good location in between the skyscrapers with many restaurants around the area. Maybe a little bar with some fast dish is missing. Great experience, staff really kind, good beds/rooms, nice pool and good idea with the TV in the common area. I booked through the hostel a trip into the canal's lake that really amazed me.

Great hostel in the middle of Panama City. Is very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Two mini-students are nearby and you can walk to the big supermarket for about 10 minutes.

Will gladly stay there again. Just about everything, location, vibe. For the price range I was looking and what I got was very reasonable. The hostel was quite, comfortable and peaceful and the staff was helpful when we needed them. Lovely!

Cool Hostel with nice vibe. Clean and nice community area. I really liked the commun area with the pool table! You can buy cheap beer within the hostel (1$) or also bring your own drinks. Staff is very chilled! Great place to start or end your travel in Panamá city!

Awesome and welcoming Hostel! You can’t visit Panama City without staying at El Machico Hostel. Roger is one of the nicest and craziest guys i’ve met. He is doing everything he can to help you have a wonderful stay! The Hostel is beautiful with very clean rooms and a good breakfast. You have lots of restaurants and supermarket on the way so the Hostel has a perfect Location. It’s definitely worth the stay!

Excellent atmosphere. Friendly and willing to help. Located in a safe area. Cosmopolitan. Clean. The only detail is that the lockers and/or lockers are small but really that happens second. Super recommendable.

I had a good stay at Machico. My bed was really comfortable, I had a good swim in the pool, the towel rental was $2 (not tooo bad, but I prefer when they are complimentary), the dorm was very clean minus some dorm mates that completely destroyed it (but the room was totally cleaned up and orderly when I returned a couple hours later), a friend I made at the hostel and I rented bikes for just $5 each for 5 hours and were able to see quite a bit! I didn’t book any tours but several were offered. My only suggestion is a better breakfast. It was OK, but with a full kitchen it could me much better. Some coffee creamer would be a nice addition as well.

Helpful staff. Seemed like ample amount of bathrooms. Only had to wait a couple of times. Bathrooms were also private which was nice. Lots of hot water! Hostel seemed very clean, noticed cleaning people at least once a day. Has a fridge at reception with different types of beers/drinks/candy. Only had two hammocks which one was always occupied due to the amount of people staying at the hostel. The other hammock was precariously perched half way over the pool.

I absolutely love the Machico Hostel! I have been all around world and it is one of my favourite hostels! Everyone is really friendly and welcoming and the facilities are excellent! Great spot for backpacking and meeting new people! Great location close to lots of pubs and restaurants.

I had a wonderful stay at Machico Hostel in Panama City, the staff were friendly, helpful and easy going. The dorms felt spacious, clean and homely. The pool has a great vibe. Would highly recommend!

I have traveled all over the world and have extensive experience with all different types of hostels and this one does not meet expectations on multiple levels. First, they fail to address the some very important areas; including charging $2 dollars to rent a towel. This is a ridiculous cost as you can purchase a towel for that much in Latin America. Most high rated hostels throughout the world provide this complimentary. Next they do not have soap in the bathroom to wash hands. This is highly unsanitary. Also, the bed that I was assigned in a mixed dorm was right under the air conditioner. It was cold and uncomfortable and there was not an outlet anywhere near to charge a phone or laptop. Furthermore the breakfast is not good. They provide some black coffee without milk or creamery and falsely advertise that maple syrup is offered with pancakes but instead provide some cheap Hershey's syrup. Finally, the service and knowledge of the staff is sub par. They just blurt out directions without clearly showing on a map along with key points of interest to help get familiar with a new area. They are too lazy to have a decent map of the area with the hostel and provide the necessary attention to detail. It is a clear gap of service that makes this hostel a no go. I cannot recommend this place.

This is an amazing hostel if you're looking to chill out by the pool and also shoot some pool. The staff were super friendly, the kitchen was clean and well equipped, its in a good location close to a massive supermarket and the rooms were cool with really good AC. Javier made this stay really good and knows pretty much everything there is to know about Panama City.

It's great and they have great breakfast starting at 0500 for the early birds with early flights or people who are going to San blas.

The best hostel I have stayed at before. Very very clean and the staff are all very friendly. The location is perfect and the staff have endless knowledge of things to do in Panama city and beyond. When I come back to Panama I will stay at El Machico everytime. Thanks for everything El Machico Crew. Much love.

Such a great hostel! I honestly think this may be the cleanest hostel that I have ever stayed at. The place had some of the best hostel showers that I have ever experienced, enough power sockets for everyone, plenty of lockers, hammocks, a wonderful pool, and the breakfast was more than the standard hostel toast and cereal. The staff were always so willing to help me out with any questions as well as book me tours and airport transfers. The hostel is in a convenient location as well. I do not have a single bad word to say about El Machico, the staff here puts in so much work to make it the best that it can be and their work really shows. I would highly recommend it to anybody.

Excellent location, great & always helpful staff, Hugh Hefner's bathroom and free pancake with coffee for breakfast… c'mon, what else do you need? Hammocks are by the pool and you can grab a cold beer on the way from your room. 5*+
