Amazing location and great building with the jungle but the whole system of telling everybody its dangerous isn't ok. Over all good great experience.

This place exceeded my expectations! It is breathtaking, low key, the people are lovely and there are multiple beaches to explore. I am going back instead of traveling elsewhere which was my plan. There is something there for everyone!

We had a dinner here, it was delicious, great atmosphere.

Had a blast at Palmar. Super friendly staff and great food and drinks. Yoga classes and other activities were awesome too! Very chill atmosphere in paradise.

Staying in the banana tent was great. Staff is friendly and the beach chairs are nice.

To start off, the owners were the people who made me feel the most welcomed. I didn't even realize one of them was the owner until after we hung out with other people, and that's how friendly he was. For my three days of stay, I was sleeping in the dorm and "interesting" things would always happen, by/on my bed, outside the window, and inside the cabin. It is a eco lodge after all, so do expect insects in the nature to be all around, which should be why you choose this place in the first place, to have the experience. The whole site is very well maintained, as well as the facilities. Ruben and Neil behind the bar are lovely people to be with if you get the chance to meet them!

This place is just heavenly! We loved the views, the vibe, the food, the staff, the room… We stayed in an air conditioned cabin. It was private, relatively quiet (except Saturday night when the volume was left cranked up after a deluge of rain. ) We met so many interesting people from around the world, there are daily events in addition to twice daily yoga, and the owner, Sebastian, was on site to take care of any incidental needs. Staff member Nhell at the bar/restaurant treated us like family. You can also take tours from here; we found the price the same as what you could get in town. We recommend Green Acres chocolate tour and Zapatilla island tour (the food at the stop is overpriced and tasteless, so pack snacks instead. ) We felt safe wherever we went, including on our trip to the island market. What great experiences we have had here! We just have a couple of suggestions for improvement: a room safe, softer pillows, and a basin at the room to rinse feet. We would definitely stay here again, though, as is!

Restaurant is so terrible as is service. Never really got what I ordered from the menu. Dorms are wonderful, but be prepared for sand in your bed, and a lot of it. Not my favorite stay in Bocas, access to some best beaches though.

FRAUD, DISGUSTING, NOT RECOMENDED AT ALL, KIDS ARE NOT WELLCOME! all they want is your money, I wend there with my family, I had book a cavin for 5 people, when we got there they put us in a comun hause with 2 more people, one of them was smokimg inside the cavin, aside from that, the cavin wasn't clean, there is no clean bathroom and the staff is the worst I ever seen I the 10 countrys I have been, I went to the reseption and ask the guy to tell the guy in our room NOT TO SMOKE because we had kids with us, the answer was (THIS IS A PARTY PLACE NOT MENT FOR KIDS) at that moment I told the guy I was leaving, he told me that there was NO REFOUND! they even refuse to call me a water taxi to get out of that DISGUSTING PLACE.
FRAUDE, este lugar es lo peor de Panama, una verguenza para nuetro turismo, reservé una estadia con mi familia de 5 personas, al llegar nos pusieron en una habitacion comun con 2 personas mas, una de las cuales estava fumando dentro del cuarto, lo cual ES ILEGAL en nuestro pais, el cuarto hecho un asco, le pedí al resepcionista que hablase con el otro huesped para que no fumara demtro de la habitacion ya que havia niños, su respuesta fue (ESTE ES UN LUGAR PARA ADULTOS, NO PARA NIÑOS) perdí mi plata pero estoy feliz de haver logrado salir de a hí, les pedí que me llamaran un taxi y hasta eso me negaron! LO PEOR DE PANAMA.

The restaurant is nice good atmosphere as to rest Nice beach and the place is nice but the staff is not good (they forgot my food order 1 hour and a half after I went the waitress q was lying in a hammock asks me if I had paid) lousy staff Can n should improve food is expensive.

Beautiful beach, comfortable tents, much privacy, nice sanitaries and already the journey to the island is and adventure. We liked it a lot.

The place is beautiful. But I put 1 star because the guy at the reception took my credit card and started writing my info in his cellphone until I stopped him. Then he said that was for security reasons, which has no sens.

The restaurant is lazy and carillo, I recommend going up to breakfast at Selina (a great buffet for $4). Don't be fooled by their chic reception, few common areas, apathetic staff, the beds are in the jungle, the bugs bite your feet by the way to the room, the bed is comfortable and has lamp and USB, but the bathrooms and showers are sooo precarious.
I recommend approaching Playa Polo (Calm sea because it has reef) walking as the waves do not give truce in Red Frog.

Amazing place. There are very few actual beach front places in the world, that are both affordable and nice. Palmar is just that. I slept in the jungle bungalow with the open air room. It was very nice to fall asleep to the sound of the jungle and the waves. Staff was really nice too. One of the owners Aaron made me a drink called an upside down hippopotamus, I recommend everyone try this. They dont have it on the menu, so you have to special request it (one time they even claimed they didnt know what I was talking about, but if you keep asking they will make it), but its totally worth it. Overall I wish I could move there and live happily ever after.

Reception organised a boat to take me surfing, but the driver never picked me up for the return journey. When I finally made it back to the island, 4 hours later, I asked for half of my money back but guy at reception who organised the driver said there was nothing he could do. No offer to reimburse any portion of the $30 I paid. They had organised the driver, who then abandoned me. Take some responsibility. Very disappointed. There is no kitchen, and food at the restaurant is extremely overpriced. $9usd for Gallo pinto for example. Only stay here if you're looking for an expensive option to get away from the Bocas crowds. There are far better options around.

This place is amazing! Where to start. The dorms are probably one of the coolest we came across in Central America. U have stairs to the top bunk so it wasn't even a mission to get up. U have a USB cable to charge phones etc and if u need to charge your laptop they will happily to it at the bar (but you won't be on your laptop while your here trust me! ) you also have a personal fan. The set up is amazing you are in the jungle walking down paths to your room and then bam your on an amazing private feeling beach. We stayed a lot longer than anticipated and altho the dorm was full the staff helped us out and organised a tent for us to move into. And although we kept extending our stay they were more than happy to accommodate us even ensuring we didn't have to switch tents. The work aways were really great and definitely get involved in social hour to meet some great people. You can eat and drink at palmar and put it on a tab which is nice because when you are beaching it you don't want to carry money around and it's hassle free and easy however there are other food options nearby if you prefer (the fish tacos next door are amazing). There are maybe two things not great at palmar 1) Wi-Fi — it's not the best Wi-Fi but it works just a little slow. 2) prepare yourself for the lack of service, really lower your expectations. One of the guys was maybe the worst server I've ever had.

I felt in love with the place and the concept. Guys, the owners, are stunning! And I slept. 11 hours in the tent. And I would sleep even more, but my iPhone woke me;). And Wi-Fi in the jungle amazes me too, you know;)

100% in love with this place and will absolutely be back to volunteer within the next few years. Solar powered, uses rainwater, nestled in the jungle yet right on the beach. Delicious food, although you are a bit stuck eating there as the options are slim in the area. Unfortunately cannot bring your own food as they do not have a kitchen, but I believe this is more to keep animals out of guest areas. Staying in the tents was a great little glamping experience, and somehow totally bug-free, and the dorms were spacious and comfortable. Stay here if you can! It's worth the trek.

This place is pure paradise. The location is ideal, nestled between the jungle and the Caribbean ocean, and the facilities are fantastic: you feel both close to nature and totally comfortable at the same time. The staff are all super nice and there is a fun, laid back vibe here whether you're enjoying a drink at the bar or getting your downward dog on.

Right on the beach! This is perhaps the only place right on the beach. We stayed for 4 nights and wished we could stay for more. The late night bon fires were amazing, getting to know the fellow guests and staff and the food was simply amazing. I'll be back!

Great place for a getaway vacation. Nice beach next to jungle. Owners have created great social atmosphere and have also made major improvements to the property between my first visit in 2014 and this past New Years. Good food and easy access by boat to Bocas Town.

Beautiful location on the beach with a very cool vibe. Loved the treehouse cabin I stayed in that they call the jungalow, enjoyed the yoga classes in the open air studio and food was great. Other visitors very friendly.

Incredible oasis on one of the best beaches in the archipelago. The staff is unbelievably nice, food is fantastic, and accommodations have something for everyone. Would certainly come again!

Spent 4 months here in 2014. Returned for a week here in the new villas this past April 2017. The staff was excellent, food was amazing, and the owners were hilarious, welcoming individuals. Certainly coming back down the road. Felt like home. An absolute must if you are in the Bocas area.

I recently hosted a yoga retreat at Palmar Tent Lodge and had an amazing experience. The yoga studio overlooks the water and jungle and is a peaceful place to practice. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and our entire group loved jumping into the water first thing in the morning. The staff at Palmar is great. MK took care of all of our needs and made sure we had a delicious custom menu. I highly recommend Palmar to other yoga teachers hosting retreats and any travelers rolling through.

Really such a chill and magical place. Good food, good drinks and good people. My favorite place to practice yoga. :)

Awesome spot on the best beach in Bocas! Great happy hour and delicious food.

Palmar is undoubtedly one of the greatest and most unique hotels I've ever been to. It's located right on red frog beach where just about 30 some yards away, you have some beautiful jungalows, lodges, and tents (my favorite) that you can stay in for a really affordable price… Palmar has a young, enthusiastic staff that shows great hospitality from the moment you arrive, to the time you leave. Everyone from the owners (Sebastian and Aaron) to the lovely volunteers from around the world, embody this contagious, positive spirit. They'll accommodate you with any of your needs — — and they create an environment where there is always something fun going on if you haven't already booked your own adventure / tour with the staff. I highly recommend the ATV tours, morning or evening yoga with MK, hiking to polo beach for some snorkeling, taking a boat taxi to Blue Coconut, the restaurant (all day), and one or two nights out in bocas town. Guys don't miss out on Palmar! This is a must repeat experience and I have a feeling I'm gonna be coming down here with my family and friends for years to come. Cheers!

Overpriced, bad service especially in the restaurant. They really have no plan! Staff only cares only about themselves having a good time. But not about the guests. Beach need to be cleaned. Rooms and facilities are ok.

The minute we arrived at the Palmar Beach Lodge I knew that we had made the right choice in coming here for our vacation. We had just stayed at the RIU Hotel (all inclusive) in Playa Blanca and coming to the Palmar was a big change, but a change that I will never forget. We stayed in the King Jungalow at the Palmar. It has 2 floors, a washroom and a shower. The water there is the softest I have ever had and felt. My hair came out so silky soft and my skin was so smooth it was unbelievable. The owner and the employees went out of their way to make us feel really good. Being in the jungle and having the beach right there was so amazing. The whole place was magical. We met so many wonderful people from all over the world. Everything about Palmar was beautiful. It was fun, relaxing, educational and entertaining. I have posted some photos of Palmar Beach Lodge. I will let the photos speak for themselves.

First things first: this is a slice of paradise. When you walk on to the premises, you'll know you've made the right choice. The location couldn't be better and the view is simply stunning. The people are lovely, the vibe is great and the food is good. The staff will go out of their way to make you comfortable. If I would have known how good it is, I would have spend more time here for sure. Just be sure to bring bug repellent, otherwise the sand flies will eat you alive (but that's the same on every island here).

A really sweet spot on the beach, ask about the flaming calamari!
