Trondheim Vandrerhjem Hostel

Beds are comfy, shower is good.

I stayed for 2 nights and it is one of the best hostels I have stayed at. It is very good, very clean, and it is better than most everything else I have experienced around Europe. The staff is very good too. However, I am knocking off a star because I, like most people, do not like being charged extra for sheets and I do not appreciate exorbitant pricing. I witnessed another guest who was very hungry and in need of some food after arriving by plane late in the evening with nowhere else to go for food pay a lot of money for small items like potato chips and cheap packaged pastries sold from behind the front desk. I do not remember the price but it was not just a couple Euros too much — — A LOT. I have never seen prices like that on things like that in my life and I am from what is also considered an expensive country. And the guy even got a receipt from the register, so it was not the receptionist overcharging him; it was the hostel.

A nice public room with a TV and free Wi-Fi throughout the house. There are also from 7-11 always fresh coffee and tea to choose from.

I booked a bed in Trondheim Vandrerhjem only for one week just to visit Trondheim for a while. I decided to remain for a month for two reasons: Trondheim is a very nice city, rich of activities and attractions and in Trondheim Vandrerhjem I found myself very good. All the staff is amazing and I felt home all the time, so just before leaving for London, all togheter ate a Spaghetti Carbonara and marinated lamb. I have been in several hostels, all valid (except one in particular) but certainly this is the one where I felt more comfortable, I highly recommend it for every aspect that could affect your trip and if in winter you are hunting for aurora borealis, you have found the perfect place to admire it from Trondheim city and you don't need to go out of town. Very clean rooms, kitchen, and bathroom facilities. Friendly and helpful staff, and free coffee in the mornings!

Very very clean and nice, helpful staff, friendly guests of all ages. Quiet, not a party hostel like many I've been to, which is great as I was here on business. The Wi-Fi was totally out for several days, frustrating, but I guess there's not much they could do about that. Nice big kitchen and comfy common area too!

Great service, almost new apartments, everything works in order (even the fire-alarm). Nice city for site seeing and student life.

This is probably the best budget place in Trondheim. I've been here twice. The second time, we were apparently put in what usually is a students' dormitory. That was awkward at first, but nothing to complain about — large kitchen and living area, bathroom, comfy beds. Everything was very clean and tidy. And the rooftop terrace was simply great, especially at sunset. The first time, we had a room on the second floor with a marvellous view over the city and the harbour! Only minus point: Breakfast was not very good and way overpriced.

It was everything that I requiered. A place to sleep at a reasonable price.

I stayed here for two nights in a dorm room and had a very comfortable stay. The rooms are clean, and the kitchen well equipped with the essentials. Note that the bed linens are NOT included in the price of the room (50 kr extra). Free coffee and tea usually comes standard at most hostels, but I feel the coffee is especially good here. Breakfast is not included, but grocery stores are located within 6-10 minute walking distance, and the main bus and train transport hubs are close by as well. This is a good and affordable option for those looking for cheap accommodation in Trondheim.

Beautiful hostel. Nice location. Staff is wonderful person she is nice, helpful in anythings if I ask for, she make the hostel is perfect!

The stay was just about what you would expect from a hostel. You take care of your self, but get help if something is wrong. The only negative thing I noticed, was that all wendling machines was empty. I didn't use them, but it is certainly something that is necessary on a hostel. The rooms was quite nosy too, with a sofa place in the hallway just outside the room, but that didn't prove much of a problem for me. Overall, I had a pleasant and inexpensive stay.

Really chilled place on a nice location! Staff were very nice, and went a lot out of their way to make the stay more enjoyable. Fairly close to the city centre as well.

To spend the night at a good price and little more. The shared bathrooms. Site something noisy, paper walls…

Most basic hostel I've stayed in. The first night was okay. Very small simple rooms with bunk beds. The "double rooms" are actually just a single room they extend into a full size bed. Definitely not something two hetero males would want to stay in together. When we complained about the rooms the clerk was very rude saying "if you don't like it you can leave" very unprofessional. We ended up going to the P-Hotel and it was actually cheaper. Would definitely recommend the P-Hotel if you're visiting Trondheim!

Lovely friendly staff. Great 'apartment' type layout means only a few people to each very well planned kitchen and bathroom. We arrived super early before check in and they allowed us bag storage and use of kitchen before check in. Love Trondheim too — very beautiful city! But be warned, there is nothing to do in the city on a Sunday.

Location is a bit out of town, a few minutes walk to city centre. Is walkable from train station. Rooms are clean and simple, with very good cooking facilities and bathrooms. It is up a hill from the city centre, so bear that in mind if you have lots of luggage!

U have too search wary long to find a staff and comfort in another places. Thanks for all supoport and ounderstanding in a dificul time in my life. Gone miss u all :)

The most friendly, helpful and polite staff! The very nice girl at the reception made as much effort as possible to fing a hairdryer for me! Tak skal du have!

A good, clean Hostel.

A very clean place where pass a night or more. The only bad aspect is the position if you havn't something to move with: with baggage it was a bit difficult to reach. The structure seems pretty new and costumer is very kind.
