We booked a room online and wished for early check-in. We also called the hotel to make sure early check-in would be ok. We arrived at the hotel after 11am and at the reception a member of staff told me that the rooms had not been cleaned yet and early check-in at this hotel was not possible at all. We left and called the hotel and asked how it could be possible that early check-in was promised to us on the phone and then at the hotel we were told that the room would not be ready until 3 PM. The receptionist said early check-in should not have been promised. We had to wait more than three hours to get to the hotel room and when we asked for compensation, we only got bottles of soda. The receptionist did not even apologize once and did not seem to care anyway. Really poor customer service. The hotel is clean and well located. The hotel room was clean but old fashioned. Parking had to be paid for separately. Breakfast was really good.

In the center of the city, near all, recently renovated, beautiful, staff very very kind.

Very descent hotel, a little shame about the construction that was going on. It made the stay a bit too noisy and probably caused the leak in my first room. But other than that the amenities and breakfast was good.

It's a basic good hotel. Enjoyed my stay here, but would like to see a richer breakfast table. It wasn't bad though! Definitely worth a stay.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and did a quick scout around. Pizza place opposite, prices start at around £17.00, lemonade £5.00 and a beer £10.00. Sunday morning breakfast was chaos, staff do not sit you down, tables not cleared as people sitting down when people were leaving. Took about 30 mins to get a table and have breakfast. Lots to choose from juice, tea and coffee and buffet style. Paid for a suite on 6 or 7 floor could still hear noise from the street below. Staff friendly on reception. Free hot drinks in reception. Had dinner at the Art Cafe. Reindeer and beef stew around £22-24 English pounds. Good service and popular. Burger place around corner. Also expensive, serves pub style food. Spent 3 days in Tromsø and loved it even though pricey. Worth taking the bus ride to go up the mountain by cable car, cost about £39.00 per person for return.

The Scandic Grand Tromsø has to my opinion the best breakfast of all Scandics. The rooms are large and clean and the location is perfect for exploring the city. It is 100 m away from the central Tromsø parking garage which is build into the mountain. Prices for parking are reasonable. Actually it would be a five star Scandic if the night stuff would be more helpfull. At 2 am we experienced very loud techno music which last to 4am, no way to sleep. Several attempts to the stuff failed. A very good impression of a hotel drops if one can not sleep… Hope the management reads this and takes action to avoid this for the future because we would like to come back.

The room was warm and cozy even if a little bit small for 2 persons. The breakfast was huge with a big variety of choices (3 different kinds of eggs, bacon, sausages, meatball, beans, cheese… whatever) Free coffe or tea were always at hand in the hall all day long. The only annoing thing was the queue for the elevator as there were only one available from the hall.

Excellent attention. Especially Martin. I forgot my clothes and they sent it to me in the mail. Very friendly everything.

Makes the job of staying overnight. Breakfast is good, our room was very dusty though. Staff is friendly. Located centrally between harbor and public parking tunnel.

Great hotel. We were in a suite on the top floor and had amazing views. Room was very spacious and the bathroom had underfloor heating which was a bonus. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The only downside was that breakfast was a bit chaotic with no members of staff taking control during busy hours, meaning you had to hunt out tables and guess which were free and which were taken, and leave jumpers or something at the table if you weren’t finished in case someone took it. The hotel is in a great central location with buses and taxis very nearby and only a 10 minute drive from the airport.

Had stay for 4 day very spacious with lounge sit stay top floor the only is if they had fit the wooden floor to be heater as there no supply of foot wear overall great the heater is on and I got a great view … staff very professional friendly and helpful and the breakfast very good and they provide free coffee and tea on ground floor self-service. It's very convenient and it central of travellers walking distance to Tromso tourist information…

This hotel was fantastic. My room had nice, clean floors, a big bed, and large shower. The bathroom tiles were heated. The breakfast was great and the location was central.

Just spent 3 nights there the staff were very friendly and helpful was impressed by the rooms did not hear any noise the whole stay breakfast very good plus free tea and coffee it was a very comfortable stay recommend it.

The airport bus stops right in front of here. Rooms are clean, spacious and affordable. Breakfast buffet options are rather good and tasty. 24 hr we that is nice and polite.

Very disappointing visit, especially after having recommended the hotel company to my girlfriend after having had a wonderful stay at their Berlin hotel. Hotel could not find confirmation of our payment and wanted to charge us twice. Despite having confirmation of payment from our credit card we had to contact the company we booked with who sorted it out with a simple call — something the hotel could easily have offered to do. Room was very drab, cheaply renovated with wobbly floor but thankfully clean, bathroom lights didn't work. We were advised on checking in that hot water would be turned off at 10 am, no big deal — easy enough to shower before then. But they didn't tell us that breakfast was also stopping early so when we arrived we were rudely told to leave as breakfast had closed! No compensation offered, not even an apology! Went to a nearby Cafe (Risø) for an excellent coffee. Before booking had considered joining their frequent traveler scheme, now rethinking.

Very spacious rooms. Good value for money (for Norwegian standards). Their breakfast is the best part of the stary. Very good selection with very tasty bread varieties.

Room had no hot water and faulty toilet flush, when we reported it we were immediately offered a new and upgraded room. One lift is out of action due to noise from 9pm til 9am but it was still not working at 9.10am as we were trying to leave, other lift was so busy took us ages to get down.
Good location, great breakfast, restauarant only serves hamburgers.
In all a good place to stay despite above.

Looks pretty good at first sight. The beds are comfortable and there is free breakfast. The room costs about as much as a hut on the campsite (4 people). Parking spaces are nearby. There are also some restaurants and pubs in the immediate vicinity.
On closer scrutiny, however, there are some quirks: the floor is quite dirty (no dust), the bathroom is completely flooded while showering and the kettle in the room must be operated under the table, otherwise the cable will not be able to reach the socket. At night, it is quite noisy when the window is open.

Friendly welcome to this hotel. Good location in the central part of Tromso. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. A touch noisy on Friday night into Saturday morning but that's to be expected in this location. Rooms are nice and warm though and cleanliness is good. I would recommend.

Booked a room via airbnb and got a nice ensuite here. Awesome! Just in the city center, direct bus the airport. Amazing breakfast and free nespresso coffee in the lobby. Good hotel booked at backpacker fare.

The hotel is no longer up to date, can tolerate a hearty renovation. Rooms are OK and clean. The breakfast buffet is rich and fresh. Is expected of the Rica hotels.
