Geilo Hotel

Stayed for a single night and it was pretty good. Wasn't loud and the beds were comfortable. There's parking in a gravel lot nearby the hotel if the gravel parking lot in front is full. Breakfast was typical so it didn't really stand out.

Overnight stay that was surprisingly comfortable. We didn't have any plans or expectations when we walked into this hotel, just that it was reasonably priced and we needed a place to stay for the night. The receptionist was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room didn't exactly have a good view as we were facing the road and parking lot, but it wasn't a big deal. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Good hot and cold water pressure, too. Bonus points for having a lovely sauna in the basement and a small gym. The breakfast buffet was scrumptious. Overall great value for the money!

I stayed here for one night. The room and the hotel was proper and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was more then enough and very delicious. A real good place to stay.

Another very comfortable and relaxing stay in this lovely hotel. All the staff were great — always friendly and helpful! The breakfast was superb with a huge choice of hot and cold food, with fun and friendly service from two ‘top notch’ Thai women. Thanks again Geir for a super stay — hopefully back again next year.

Unlimited coffee in the dining room but not advertised (we found it as we were leaving)
The breakfast is dreadful — eggs five ways and make your own waffles.

We stayed for 1 night.
We had dinner at the restaurant at night. My daughter had reindeer steak w/ vegetables, my wife had salmon, and I just a salad.
My daughter's raindeer steak was not cooked properly, but after a long drive from Bergen, 8hrs due to poor weather and 'kolonne kjøring', she was so hungry that ahe attempted to eat it. She immediately felt funny, and ahortly after she started to vomit. That lasted until the early morning, along with diarrhoea.
My wife's fish was also not well prepared. She left most of it un-eaten and was 'just' feeling queezy, but not as sick as my daughter.
My salad was OK, albeit extremely expensive with a very poorly boiled egg — asked for hard boiled, and it came out runny and soft. I did not eat that, as it looked hastily prepared.
The hotel looks cozy, but restaurant is in need of proper HACCP routines in the kitchen. Also the service, both at dinner and at breakfast buffet, was very poor.
The cleaner/house keeping gentleman was standing out; great attitude.
Also the lady who did the check-in was service-minded.
Generally, will not stay at this place again.
The Geilo camping is a FAR better place to stay at.

Not a bad place, quite a few facilities are under repair including sauna. Staff are not very friendly to foreign visitors except one gentleman with a big head of hair. If I only managed to get his name. Very friendly guy. Breakfast is good value and offers a good selection. If only the staff (except him) were friendlier. Trust me, when you guys come out to Asia, you would usually be treated much better.

The hotel is quite nice and offers a range of amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and several halls for meetings and events. We held our team-building event there, and it was a great day! We also enjoyed doing some outdoor activities.

Amazing Hotel from 1880! The owner seems to care about the buisness and everything is well taken care off! Stuff was helpfull and attended our needs, breakfast selection is great and the food quality outstanding!

Our room was very big, well stuffed with great views, the breakfast was nice and the staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpfull. We had a small problem with the flow of the sink — it was solved immediately. We had a very nice stay and the loved the bar with the nice fireplass.

This hotel was a total miss. We ordered first caurses and main caurses and got nothing. We got no food at all what an experiece. The room was b ad to come to even if it was on thev first floor. We got help from other travelers but no help from the staff. The peaple on the hoel was terrible.

Nice combination of old and new. The car parking was under pressure during our visit due to two builders skips on part of it, but this would only be temporary. There was a large on site restaurant but we did not try the evening offering. The breakfast buffet was extensive and included a cooked selection which was not quite as hot as we would have liked, but not too cool. The views over the ski area from both our bedroom and the restaurant were beautiful. The railway station was only a few metres away but railway noise did not seem to penetrate the building at all. Our shower cubicle was made with two bifold sides, so it could fold back when not in use to make the bathroom more spacious.

The price-quality is good, I liked the design of the common spaces. There is also a bar with draft beer, and a restaurant, which we could not try because it was full and open only till 20.30, I recommend you allow an extra service for guests who arrive later so they can eat, at least during high season, as there are not many options in Geilo. The room is spacious and has comfortable beds. It's good for hikers because various paths are available nearby!

Great hotel that's a short walk from the quaint downtown of Geilo. Our room had beautiful views of the valley lakes and ski slopes. We're definitely staying here again when we're back in the area. Only downside is that there are no EV chargers for guests.

Geilo Hotel is a nice hotel located at the center of Geilo.
It is a nice stop during summer to rest up if you go from one side of the country to the other. 7.5 to 8h drive.
During winter its a great location for a ski vacation.
The surrounding area is really calm during summer but bustling during winter.

An authentic Norwegian hotel with the local.
Classic touch. It is a typical Norwegian style hotel. They kept lots of the old nostalgic items. Quite a spacious hotel in a small town in Geilo. Lovely view of the ski slope. It still has snow on the ski slope. The hotel staff very accommodative and the restaurant seeing delicious food. The breakfast also nice. Will surely be back again.
