Stayed here a couple of years ago. Really good vibe. Called reception to make a booking and they found the best room and price for me. Fast forward a couple of years and I do the same, but had a completely different experience. After explaining my situation and requirements Jon's quote to me was: "that's not my problem… we've got to make money". I accept that things change, prices go up, people have good and bad days, but I really did go out of my way to explain that I had a good experience here and that I just need a small studio for a night. Instead of leveraging that, they turned a returning customer into a 1 star review.
Nice and warm the manager is lovely only thing I didn't like was that Being a studio room the kitchen was tinier than any room I've ever been in my life half a bench no stove… and a microwave to cook in and one small casserole dish for one person even though we had to feed four people and the window needs repaired cos all night long all we could hear was the wind howling through the cracks of the window couldn't sleep too noisy…
