Fabulous! Central location in a beautiful old building. The bar serves excellent drinks and food and is open late. Super friendly people.

Lovely old building oozing with character and very spacious rooms/ hallways. Can't speak for the bar as didn't use it, but the restaurant is decent, if perhaps not up to the usual exceptional standard at other heritage hotels. Location is great also, as it's very central. There is also a small gym that serves the purpose well.

Gorgeous old building exuding so much character, spacious rooms, super comfy beds, central location, trendy bar, friendly staff, valet parking or nearby reasonably priced parking lots, walk to restaurants.

My friend and I stayed Saturday night and I loved it. Had got a great rate through an accommodation website and then received a free upgrade upon check in. Room was brilliant. Nothing exceptional in looks but room had all the things you need plus more.
Nice and clean and well maintained. The staff at check in and check out were really friendly and helpful. $20 for valet parking was a bargain.
Hope to have another stay soon.

Lovely building which has been tastefully adapted to it's current use. Friendly and helpful staff with some very appreciated nice touches (eg a bottle of water in the car when leaving). Unfortunately let down by issues with electrical appliances that weren't safe for use, seeming to be something of a testing and maintenance failure.

The hotel has a restaurant, but it's not worth going to. I had this idea that the restaurant would be charming and special, but it's just another hotel restaurant with average service and an over priced menu. There are so many better options in CHCH that you'll just be disappointed that you went here when you could have gone somewhere better.

Made the mistake of going here for breakfast too early. Although they open 6.30, allow at least 30 minutes before you get your food. The building is nice, restaurant space is nice. Coffee was OK. We had to leave as I had an appointment and didn't want to shovel down my breakfast angry. Staff were apologetic, but unfortunately my empty stomach didn't appreciate it! The odd thing is, we ordered bircher, and yet other people got their eggs Benedict before us. I suspect they just forgot.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Very quiet and comfortable in the heart of the city.

Classic We spent about a week here. It was a comfortable and convenient hotel. Well-equipped including laundry machine and dryer, stove, oven, etc. The beds were comfortable. The building was old style but well taken care. The location was good. We could walk easily to the park, the shopping mall, even good restaurants. They offered a valet parking too. Of course, we had to pay for that.

Both the restaurant and the bar have a nice setting and atmosphere. The food and drinks are very good but not cheap. The toilets are very small so you have to queue.

A great hotel in a remarkable building offering spacious rooms with impressive ceiling heights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts served in both the hotel dining room and OGB Bar are delicious. The hotel is also very central and the tram passes along it. Great place to stay though the interior design is very traditional and slightly outdated.

Getting an upgrade to a suite got us off to a great start, love the space and style of the Heritage, very nice place, with great staff.

Charming old hotel. Super friendly staff who was very helpful. Our room was supposed to be one of the largest, two floors with two bedrooms. Please note right now there is construction going on outside almost everywhere in the center, so this might cause some noise and also spoil the view a bit. The city is recovering however. The pool looks nicer on the pictures. All in all a really good hotel.

The service was really nice. We arrived late at night but the manager on duty gave us a very warm welcome with valet parking. There is also a cool bar/cafe there. The brunch was nice.

Located centrally in town next to the old cathedral (the state of which is still sadly indicative of the events of 2011), in a stunning building and equally stunning rooms. In close proximity to all you could want and more. A short stroll down to New Regent Street where you will find several stunning places to wine (or try your hand at the craft beers at The Institute), dine then potentially wine and dine some more. The hotel staff were outgoing, both behind the desk and out the front bar/resteraunt. If you're looking for a comfortable stay in the centre of Christchurch you could do a lot worse than this, however I'm not too sure you could do better.

Thank you for the upgrade to our beautiful suite it certainly finished off our stay on the south island on a high. Will recommend yo all my friends that travel to New Zealand.

Loved the rooms the furniture the service provided by the hotel. I loved it bro.

Only good thing is that they have OGB Bar at the entrance, otherwise Heritage Hotel itself would be nothing but very expensive backpacker shack… Building has more of historical value to Christchurch, but in the sense of that building to be a hotel with 4 stars… it is really — really, far — far away from even two star hotel standard… I am giving two stars (with huge exaggeration) on compassionate grounds to HH Christchurch.

It was a great place. Century ago, City hall building smells like a liter. Wait until the biggest room is a leap.

Fantastic old building tastefully presented using all the old features to make a great impression. The facilities are fantastic, rooms are really comfortable and we had a fantastic stay.

Walked into our room and we both said wow. Wasn't expecting such a huge suite. Opulent curtains and furniture, high ceilings and a bed like a cloud. And yet so practical with a full kitchen, washing machine and dryer and walk in wardrobe. Can forgive the street noise for all this.

An excellent drop of classic Empire opulence in the centre of the city (not that there's much around at the time of writing :). Staff were excellent, buffet breakfast was top notch and the suite was just as wanted. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 weeks whilst on a job. Even though Christchurch is still rebuilding the building itself is amazing and the rooms are huge. Gym also is well equipped and free to use as a guest. I deduct 1 star for the hotel internet which is accessible via voucher codes from reception. For the price per night internet should be included.

Wow. Five star comforts in an historic building at distinctly 3-4 star prices. My room had 20ft ceilings, a bedroom on a mezzanine level, a pillow menu and a bed I never wanted to leave. Wifi is annoyingly limited to 500mb but reception seem happy to hand out refills.

What a wonderful treat! Your first impression after seeing the front of this magnificent building is the friendly professional greeting at the reception. Kala is a Brisbane lass who provides a truly professional welcome, you feel she means it. We had booked a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite and found it spread over 2 levels, luxurious and spacious. There was a washing machine and dryer (important on a long trip) and a great kitchen with a coffee plunger and good coffee provided. The gym is a stand out indeed perhaps the best equipped hotel gym I've seen for many years including three Personal Trainers at the gym office. The indoor heated pool helped loosen tight muscles too. Our stay was only 2 nights but we hope to return soon.
