My son is in MIQ there. It is very hospitable and considerate of those staying there and us visiting and dropping off things.

As far as managed isolation accomodation goes, this is excellent!
Quiet, it has a grass area that you can walk on, though it is extremely slippery when wet, and the rooms are truly bearable for a two week stint.
In the middle of winter, the heating is sorely inadequate, I was freezing in my room, even after I changed into a room that supposedly had a working heating connection I was cold. However, the water is scalding hot to make up for that, so taking long showers (the bathtubs have seen better days) before frostbite sets in keeps the body in some sort of equilibrium.
Room service was on point.

I would absolutely reccommend Chateau Hotel to family and friends. Been in isolation for 4 days. The service is great, the staff are friendly. The reception desk make you feel important everytime you ring. I would definitely come back here for a holiday.

Absolutely beautiful place to be.

No idea what the Chateaux is like during non covid times but can't imagine it could get any better! We have been so well looked after and have wanted for nothing. The food has been totally amazing! Comfortable rooms — the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in, so peaceful. The grounds are amazing, surrounded by beautiful roses and trees, not hard to find a quiet wee corner. I honestly can't fault the way everyone has looked after me — you're an amazing team who have made quarantine so comfortable and stress free! thankyou guys, awesome work.

I love that it feels like a garden hotel rather than a boxy urban style hotel. It does look older and rundown on the outside and the bones but the the rooms are spotless clean, roomy and beds are really comfortable. I like the pool, there may not be others in Christchurch. Very close walk to the park and to some good food places around as well. We got a good deal and a complimentary upgrade was the icing on the cake. Will definitely come again.

We just went for lunch today. Had the specials menu $21 a good selection of main courses our table had the Pork, lamb and beef and all were cooked superbly and all very tender with good veg or salad. The staff are all very friendly and Donna our waitress looked after us very well, so nice to have friendly staff especially ones that have worked there for years def recommend it.

We stayed there for 2 nights during our New Zealand trip and it was super comfortable and great service. Most beautiful part is the lovely garden they maintained inside hotel.

So close to the airport, we used the Chateau as our overnighter before heading to the snow fields. The rooms are big, clean and well outfitted in a beautiful building with a ton of character. Absolutely lovely hotel staff greeted us with warm cookies at our 11:30pm check in. It was a really nice touch after coming from an international flight.

I didn't stay @ the Chateau on the Park but went to a travel presentation that was put on there & from what I saw it looks like this place is a bit of all right.

We had a lovely night here hotel was clean and the room very good. All new bath wear and the bed very comfy. When the receptionist learnt it was my birthday she had a large bottle of wine delivered. A lovely touch and much appreciated. Will defiantly come here again.

We stayed for 7 nights recently and were amazed at the amenities and the service. Our room was comfortable and big enough for 2 people although an additional chair would have been helpful. The staff were exceptional-courteous, friendly, always ready to help or chat. The restaurant staff-managers, receptionists, waitresses, chefs, were the best I have ever seen. Everyone was friendly, nothing was too much trouble, they remembered our various likes (no dislikes as there was nothing to dislike), and the food was outstanding. They must have a very top rated chef. Service was quick. I would certainly really like to go back again and enjoy the exceptional service.

Friendly check in made even better with a complimentary cookie (warm and delicious). We arrived early, despite which they were able to accommodate our room, which was tidy and had everything we expected. We were surprised to even have a bath too. Breakfast was included which we made the most of, a good selection and good quality. Overall Great facilities and a great location, we would use them again.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! Got in late and the staff was very accommodating of this and had warm cookies for me and my family. The hotel restaurant stays open pretty late, and we had a decent meal. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast spread was incredible. It's probably worth staying just for the breakfast! The setting is also gorgeous, with beautifully tended gardens and courtyards. I highly recommend.

Fantastic place to stay. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I have stayed here so many times over the last year with my fiancé. Great beds, awesome showers, superb room service and lovely breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend staying here if you are in town.

Staying here at the moment, unfortunately we were not offered a welcome cookie as advertised so we cannot comment on how delicious it possibly was. We have a view of the carpark but when down stairs in the restaurant the view of the garden is pretty, the bed is big and comfy, rooms are warm but more for business people I think than holiday makers. Directly across from the park and botanical gardens and about 30 minutes brisk walk into Christchurch. Food in the restaurant was awesome highly recommend the roast! Chef knows what he is doing when it comes to taste that's for sure. Pleasant service staff wise in the restaurant and bar, will defo stay again and hopefully might get a cookie next time.

Stayed here as a base for the England v New Zealand test match. Great location, only a short walk to Hagley Park, the botanical gardens and the city. Check in was efficient and despite arriving early every effort was made to find us a room. The warm cookie was a nice touch and was appreciated at 4am when the jet lag kicked in! Breakfast is one of the best I’ve had in a city hotel. Plenty of choice, very friendly staff and no queues. Room is very comfortable, well equipped and with good bathroom. Could have done with a bit more storage but plenty of room for cases. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Really good and lovely but the toilet didn't work properly and there was no hot water but we only stayed there for one night and they offered us a free breakfast to compensate. All up I would recommend this place as long as the facilities work.

A large group of us attended a Meetup Group there last night, although they new we were coming, only one Bar Staff was on, a lovely girl but honestly who was checking in to see if she needed help? No one offered to bring more chairs into the back room, us ladies had to drag them into the side room, A gesture of some finger food maybe appreciated as well, as we have attended this venue quite a few times before. Very pleasant looking out at the water, but the service could be looked at. 16.3.2018

A class hotel as usual for Doubletree but unfortunately lacks the usual friendliness of the staff. In addition, there are not enough washing machines and dryers in the Laundryroom. There is one available, but it is not enough. I had to wait 4 hours yesterday until I was able to wash and 2hours the dryer again, since there was a separate snake. Today I glanced past the laundry room and found that there was a long line on both devices.

Currently staying here, Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is impressive. Rooms clean bed comfortable and room quiet. No negatives to post. Would recommend and stay again.

This is a great place to stay while I'm Christchurch! Our room wasn't ready when we arrived (after the approved check in time) so they treated us to a free drink from the bar and a cookie. How could I be mad with that haha. The room was spacious and clean, the AC was nice and cool. The views over he grounds were very acceptable. Over all a nice stay. A+++

Clean room, nice staff, lovely grounds with a courtyard garden, patio, and lawn. The bed was moderately comfortable. It's a bit far from the restaurants but you can walk through the park to get downtown in 30 min. A bit pricey for what you get but a decent choice when visiting Christchurch. Would probably stay here again.

Lovely staff. Received cookies at check in, late arrival in the night. Great location minutes from the huge Botanical Gardens and museum. Gorgeous interiors with ponds, and stunning gardens you can have buffet breakfast in as well. On site parking available and rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Would certainly recommend!

My wife and I would like to thank front office manager Ms Cecilia Zhong for her friendly assistance during our recent stay at this lovely hotel. We found our car battery was dead the morning of our departure and she went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out. Thank you Cecilia. Very good value for money. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The shower is amazing. The breakfast is also very nice.

A very beautiful hotel with average rooms. Unfortunately I was too tired to explore much so I can only base this on service and room service food. Check in was fine but not that friendly. The food was mediocre. The sandwich I got was too salty for me to eat. Oh yeah and I selected a room on the app and was given something completely different. I also mobile requested a beer to be delivered to my room and that didn’t happen either. Not sure what the disconnect was between the app and the hotel.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Very beautiful grounds and located near a large beautiful park. Hot breakfast was delicious and the restaurant had a wonderful dinner on site.

Had staff christmas do here in the great hall. Wonderful medieval style room — lots of character. Service was always friendly and helpful. Buffet was delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the Indian curry. Has parking lot and lots of free on street parking nearby.

Went to the Sue Nicholson show on Friday. Decided to go early for a drink and meal. Got our first drink then ordered our meal. Before our meal arrived I ordered 2 cocktails at 6pm. Was told they would bring them when ready. 40 minutes later, our meal nearly finished, we got our first cocktail. We were told we would get a refund for the delay and an apology. Also she had 2 customers to serve and then she will bring the second cocktail. We got sick of waiting after 15 minutes. Went up for the refund and the second cocktail. People were being served before us. We asked how long because the show starts at 7. We were told that they would bring the drink to us in the break st 8.30pm. Not good enough and not fair. Way too long to wait. Highly disappointed.

Disappointed with the menu as was looking forward to Wagyu Steak & Beef Cheeks as advertised on website but all in all, tasty salads with calamari, although calamari was thin but ok. Salmon and Blue Cod deliciously cooked. Cheese board was good, cheesecake also good. Service friendly enough. Atmosphere comfortable and decor could do with an update. Pleasant evening.

In August 2017 I took a group of 70 people to the hotel for a two-day conference and enjoyed the facility very much excellent conference management and a well run Hotel.

What is really fantastic about this place is the friendliness of the staff (I live in Sydney where they do fake friendly). The genuine friendliness of Kiwis is one of the country's biggest assets to domestic and international tourism there is. Market it more. The food is reasonable NZ fare — with a good selection of NX wines. The Garden Bar is s great place for a friendly, relaxed lunch with outstanding service all around — the standout component of this experience.

Had a really good night last night with ANZs Stephen Caunter teaching on How to promote your business using the Internet. Stephen is very easy to listen too as he is funny but also really knows his topic. Chateau on the Park put on a really good super catering well for vegetarians and gluten free. Thank you to all for a very pleasant evening.

Building and room standards are cool but service is not really clever. Tried to contact the hotel before my arrival with som requests but did not get any answer. Food in the bar was perfectly made. Breakfast is under average Hilton. Coffee not drinkable. Nice with the option for a $4 guest laundry.

In all the years I have lived in Christchurch I had never been to Chateau on the Park… Our friends suggested we go their for their lunchtime menu in their Doubletree Restaurant… Have to say it was great… From start to finish… Service and food was top rate and we shall be going back… Sooner rather than later… Thankyou Doubletree. Keep up the grand work. :) ps. Prices are good too.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a fantastic front desk team who hand you a warm cookie while they complete your check in formalities. The Château architecture is fabulous and you immediately feel like you are in a unique hotel. The rooms were impeccably clean and well appointed. The Californian king bed was perfect and I had an awesome nights sleep. The bathroom was to the standards that you would expect from a 4star hotel, very practical and functional. The was heaps of choice at Breakfast and the team was waitresses were very attentive and offered exceptional customer service! Check out was a breeze and took only a couple of minutes. The front team is very efficient and the concierge service is spot on. The hotel offered free WI-FI which was at a decent speed. I would recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

I took my partner here for their birthday 24/5/17 there were only 4 other tables in use it took 25 minutes to get to order a drink… while waiting for our meal we asked for a wine each to have with dinner. They brought the wine as we were just finishing our meal. So I said your a bit late we have eaten now… the waitress said we are short staffed… That's not my problem. … it was ment to be a special night dinner and a drink was very disappointed… so I said something on my way out and they said we won't charge you for the drinks yoy got. … "so generous of them"… oh the blue cod meal I had cod was nice but the salad was drowned in dressing. My partners seafood mix gave them an upset tummy later in the night. … would not really recommend this place. … 2 stars only because the 2 drinks were free one star for each drink.

This would of been the 4 time this year we had chosen to stay at Chateau on the park, previously we have always enjoyed our stay, unfortunately this was far from the case. We had booked a family room for 4 of us 2 children and 2 adults the first room we went to had 2 singles, we were then moved to another room same size as first but with a double bed and 2 singles squashed together we could barely fit. There was not enough cups, towels etc. The hotel is being refurbished which we were not advised of. Before 7am each day the work began below us. It was loud, dusty and it affected exits to car parks. Sadly we had recommended 2 other parties also to stay at the same time as us. I must say I was disappointed, want be staying again.

I had approximately $400.00 US ($600 New Zealand), along with two business checks and miscellaneous cards stolen from the room safe. Even though it is an electronic safe, and they had a record of me accessing the safe, they had no record of anyone else accessing it. The code I entered was erased. They talked to housekeeping who said there was nothing in the safe and that was the end of the matter. Because the business checks were stolen, I had to close the account and open a new business account at great cost, time and inconvenience. Do not assume that your possessions are secure in their safe. The first room was so musty, we had to request a different room.

We treated ourself to a deluxe room here for 3 days after hiking the Te Araroa trail (south island). The room we stayed in had recently been refurbished and had very tasteful decor. I understand the entire hotel is undergoing a big renovation as well. We found the value to be top drawer. The hotel is situated on 5 acres of beautifully kept gardens, including a rose garden you can lounge in. In addition (if gardens are your thing), a massive city park is right across the street. One thing that really stood was the room service. Only $1 more than priced at the restaurant! And you get it in your room! outstanding. Nice Pool too.

Love the free unlimited Wi-Fi (a rarity in NZ) and the service.

Hotel is ok'ish. Rooms are dated and in the process of renovation. Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable at times. The surroundings are nice though. We were told the rental bikes were stolen which was a bit annoying. The staff was overall friendly and helpful.

Had dinner at their in-house restaurant. The food was excellent. The only downside was that we've waited 35 mins after the entree was served and the restaurant was not busy.

Beautiful place to stay… Very cozy and the wooden floors and walls give that posh country like living. Close to city centre by car. Staff were very helpful. Even got an upgrade as my wife was pregnant and that we needed a bigger bed…

Almost completely missed out on the great buffet breakfast and a walk in the garden. These are the things that make this a great hotel. I'm so glad we didn't just spend the night and leave.

Stayed here for a wedding great facilities and fruendly helpful staff they even tracked me down after I left because I forgot to collect my bond. Super happy with my stay here and the staff.

Not sure what hotel these others are staying at because it's not this one. Our "executive suite" is a typical "junior suite" size except with the decor of my long-dead grandmother's house. Absolutely horrible place. Our pay as you go data plans on our phones have better download speed than their included Wi-Fi. Prices do not match the quality of the amenities.

Old old stuff here. CRT TV in the room. Fixtures from the 80s. But awesome garden. Like the shining.

My wife and I stayed for three nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very comfortable and provisioned to make our stay very comfortable. The Chateau's shrouding's and grounds have been wonderfully restored. Access to the city is very easy either using the your own vehicle or the Chateau's shuttle. The restaurant food and service was very enjoyable. It was very difficult to choose who was the most friendly staff member but Gary the House Feline won our hearts.

The staff at The Chateau on the Park gave my partner and I a magical civil union wedding and really helped to make our day special. The rooms, the food, the service were all perfect, and many of our guests commented it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Thanks so much to everyone at The Chateau who made us feel important and looked after us.

Our visit was in early Spring. No Airport shuttle only to rail station however they didn't pick us up as we took the train. Free wireless internet is super slow. 0.02Mbps Download and 4.77 Mbps Upload. I had them call their ISP but it was Sunday and the ISP was closed for the day. It should be better the 1 Mbps Down an 5 Mbps Up. They charge for high speed internet and won't compromise when told of problem on wireless. They are still rebuilding from the earthquake 3 years ago, Enter in the rear. Don't walk around the grounds, some areas ar unsafe Room was clean and acceptable No safe in the room, Hotel is non smoking, This is very good. No tobacco smell anywhere. Food in Garden Court was good but expensive and crowded. We ended up eating in the bar. Pool was filthy with ducks swimming in it. It is close to the park. This is good. This could be a first class hotel if the physical plant is improved and the staff trained better.
