Friendly staff nice rooms its not our first stay and won't be our last.

The room was so comfortable, nice and airy. very comfy bed and felt spacious. staff were attentive. would recommend to anyone.

Definitely don’t meet my expectations. Rooms felt like in a cheap motel.

Well, just checked in. Not impressed to say the least. I have honestly stayed in nicer rooms in a Motor Camp. For a cheaper price. Definitely not the room that we booked, and definitely not worth the 6.5 hour drive from Auckland. To top it off, we got asked if we had a “Radar” detector in our car… when I asked why, we were told that there’s a bit of a spate of car break-ins occurring. Nothing else taken other than radar detectors. Not a great welcoming discussion before we were shown the room…

Hi ya my stay at this hotel was very cool I had amazing sleep the bed was so comfy not like my brick bed I sleep on and the room was perfect size love the view that’s amazing and had a train in the gym this morning absolutely love the gym perfect shower is awesome perfect night there is a bar and a menu for dinner which was so convenient it absolutely a perfect stay and very close to the city center

Our experience was mainly positive, but there were a few let downs. We stayed for two nights after finding a great price on booking. Com (which included buffet breakfast). Really enjoyed breakfast & the meals we ordered through room service were generous and of great quality. However, the wheel on our bed came off THREE times, just from sitting down. We pulled the bed out each time to re-attach it, but gave up after the third time. The bathroom window was missing one of its latches. However the room itself was nice & clean & the fridge was quiet (unlike at some other hotels). The shower, although outdated, had great pressure. The room was unfortunately quite noisy though, even with earplugs in. And very hot. We kept the fan on all night & I nearly wanted to keep the door open (on the chain) to let some cool air in. Would definitely recommend investing in some air con. The staff we interacted with were all friendly & welcoming, so can't fault you there.

Had planned this to be a luxury end to our Christmas holiday. The photos of the room type we booked looked great. What we got looked a lot different which was a big downer. We had stains on towels, a super noisey fridge, old & dated bathroom, very hot and stuffy room which made for a rubbish sleep. Pretty sure our room was next to the loudest neighbors as well who we could bear in the next room for most of the night and up early the next day. Regretting the choice to go here to top the holiday off as it has left a big sleepless downer.

This was good value. Nice Breakfast included. We were in a budget (ish) room which was comfortable. Couple of minor niggles but nothing that would stop us returning. Close to city centre.

This hotel was alright to stay in. The room was nice and there were earplugs in case it was too loud outside (I didn't need them though). One thing I did notice though (and a friend of mine said the same thing) was that at check-in I was very much rushed, and the rooms were a walk away and it was dark. For me this was not a big problem, but for some people, they may not feel safe walking in a dark parking lot. Otherwise, I was happy with what I got and would return to the hotel in the future.

Very nice staff. So far they have been really helpful. The hotel is close to everything. Really good.

Perfect location, could not fault the room and staff were friendly and professional. The only area we were not impressed with was the evening wait staff in the restaurant. They definitely need more training. The restaurant also needs a slight decor change, it is too stark and not really comfy or inviting, with lighting way too bright for dinner time. Made us think of a hostel. Breakfast staff were fantastic! All in all we loved it and deginity recommend.

It was well presented and the staff were very helpful. I had booked twin beds by mistake but they were more than happy to change that for us. The only let down for me was at breakfast, the coffee was not the greatest but I am a little picky when it comes to this. Overall a great stay and will definitely come back.

To be honest. This hotel should rate 3 stars, but not 4 stars. The guest room of external building we stayed. It was very clean, but also very simple.
almost no decoration & also poor sound proof. I could hear people's conversation very clearly when they are outside of our room.
I also could hear loud noise when any car pass the drive way outside of our room. I just hope not too many noisy car pass our room at night.
luckily it did not happen.
But this hotel has 2 great advantages. (1) great location. Only 5 mins walk to The Square & The Plaza shopping mall.
(2) very cheap price when it is on special. Good value for money.

Outside rooms are horrible! Wasnt even part of the hotel. Regret staying there. There are better motels for same price and at least you will get a bedside lamp and a proper area for tea and coffee. Breakfast. What breakfast, no bacon, bare filled up and barely and selection.

Very nice as usual rooms upgraded since last visit tower block. Great buffet breakfast.

I arrived at 9pm on a Wednesday evening without a reservation while passing through Palmy. At first they said they were fully booked. As I turned to leave the manager said he had accommodation available in the older part of the hotel if I am comfortable with it, and since all I needed was a hot shower and a warm bed I accepted his offer. Well I was impressed with the room I stayed in for the price I paid, on such short notice. The room is large with a TV and about 10 sky channels, a queen bed and a single bed, and everything was beautifully clean. I had nothing to complain about. You get what you pay for and to pay under $100 on such short notice for such a large room that’s clean is impressive. The old part of the hotel (motel) is outdated yes, but cleanliness is all that matters at this price point. The room was comfortable and everything worked. Kudos to you guys. Well done. Expectations not only met but exceeded.

Stayed 19/5-20/5/18. Economy Room: — Very disappointed with our accommodation. Coffee cups stains on desk in front of mirror, large mat on floor wrinkled and scrunched up against the wall, TV only had 4 channels and the heater was very loud all night, no thermostat so kept heating. Had to manually turn down the heater. Every time husband turned over in bed, it shook the whole bed. My brother booked through Trivago, for economy rooms: — got the same price with breakfast, then he was upgraded to a more expensive room. I booked directly through hotel by phone, didn't come with breakfast. Sheets and bathroom were clean.

Really old breeze block construction. No air conditioning. Extremely basic amenities. Has the smell of years of habitation. Overpriced for what you get. Circa 1970s. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I loved the buffet. The rooms were neatly made when we arrived. The television was a bit fuzzy but other than that, this was the best hotel i've ever stayed at.

We stayed here while competing at a national fire fighting competition. We did not pay for the rooms directly. It was unanimous amongst the fire fighters staying in part of the copthorne that we had been booked in the cheap and nasty part of the hotel. We were told Wifi wold not reach our rooms, doors did not work ect. However I have stayed in the nice part before and was happy, just make sure you know where you are getting booked into when staying here because I would be upset if I payed top dollar here.

Wow what a waste of a an opportunity to be a great hotel rooms need urgent updating with air conditioning modern fittings an they need to work a lot harder an smarter to offer technology to bring them into the future.

I had booked this hotel for 1 night last weekend and to my surprise my husband and I were blessed with the night paid for all the food and mini bar included for free, since we never spend any time alone (grandchildren) and he is a volunteer in Auckland. Arrived into our upgraded room, opened curtains and 1panel was shredded. Next went to make us a coffee, and cup was dirty omg anything worse… yes, no air conditioning in every room. Spent most of the afternoon outside in car. Will not be back.

Just there for one night. One issue was that the laundry bags sat outside the elevator for the whole day. Just a bad look. Bed was good. No air-conditioning on a very muggy day.

No Aircon and a small fan to provide relief, but not a lot on these hot days, one of the windows looked as though it would fall out if you opened it and then the windows that were able to open let all the noise of the people out on the town and burger king in. Also had someone from the adjoining room try to open the doors between the rooms luckily it was bolted, Had to ask for the mini bar to be restocked of a couple of items from the last people staying and then had receptionist say there were was a couple of items from the mini bar to add to the tab, saving grace was that she was nice when I explained we had used none but wanted the option of all items on the list if wanted.

Comfortable bed and very nice big shower. Great location, 2blocks from The Square, but also nice and quiet. Very nice lounge to meet up for evening drinks. Breakfast was great, including fresh fruit and friendly staff. Secure parking too. Only problem was their Wi-Fi, it only works in the bar/lounge downstairs. Otherwise we had a fab stay.

Good, clean and big room. Excellent service. Lots of parking space available. Only caveat: no aircondition.

Comfortable room and bed. Friendly and pleasant staff. No aircon in room. Water pressure a bit low so shower not as refreshing as it could be. Would be happy to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Copthorn. Very reasonably priced and a great location only 2 blocks from the square. Great comfortable rooms.

Very run down. I had high expectations but there was rot in the bathroom that badly needed repair, decor very dated and breakfast was marginal also. I am not keen to try any more copthorne hotels.

The room was clean and tidy. Basic good value for money. Ate diner in the restaurant beautiful meal good service would reccomend it that was 5 stars.

Didn't really like the motel part of this place. Not enough towels. No microwave so that we could heat or cook our food. The beds were hard. Foot traffic was a bit on the hefty side and people going past on the street were noisy when they were walking home or wherever in early hours of the night/morning couldn't get a good night's sleep. Didn't appreciate having to fill kettle and wash cups in bathroom.

We love staying at The Copthorne. Of particular enjoyment is the Buffet Breakfast, as it sets one up for the day. The rooms are very comfortable and well-equipped.
The staff are very helpful at all times.
The only 'down' on this stay was the barely-warm bacon, but that was quickly rectified.

Callled last minute to arrange stay. Staff were very helpful and rooms are very tidy and clean. Would reccomend to anyone.

Basic but nice. Freindly staff. No Wi-Fi unless you are prepared to pay for it. Good teas and coffees in the rooms though.

I have stayed here a number of times for business over the past ten years — we rocked up yesterday both sick with a sick baby and the duty manager accommodated my request to change the bed options — he upgraded us and the new room made our night so much easier. Having worked for the M and C chain in London I understand the challenges facing the NZ sites with their age, size and the amount of money needed to upgrade them but for me a brand is about the customer interface and this was a winner for me. Because of this I will always chose to stay here when in Palmy! Thank you so much your gesture made a massive difference to the big work day I had to face today.

We had a family room, it was warm and comfortable. Some things were a bit oddly placed, but the staff were lovely and welcoming. They even provided two servings of warm milk for our children at no charge which they didn't have to do. So thanks for making it a nice stay and weekend.

$200 plus per night was extremely expensive for this very very ordinary hotel. Our rooms were not even in the main hotel they were outside in what looked like an old motel! The room did not even have heating. On checkout the staff did not even ask how our stay was — guess they already knew!

Breakfast and accommodation was nice although the rooms weren't very convenient. The budget rooms have a very limited number of outlets and no kitchen. The walls also looked old and weary. Outside was very dilapidated. My best points go to the meals. Incredible! I'd recommend paying a little more money for the nicer rooms in the main building. Definitely worth the money.

We booked via phone With Rachel late morning on Friday and she checked all my questions out with her manager. We arrived late Friday afternoon, how wonderful to be able to get a booking at such short notice. The hotel room was awesome clean, modern, quiet, spacious for a family of 5 and had a feeling of luxury.
The service for dinner was friendly and fast which is great with hungry kids and we didn't need to leave the hotel. The restaurant was busy but the 3 lovely service girls deserve acknowledgment for their hard work. The set meal was delicious. My children are big eaters so we ordered garlic bread, although we ate it all it wasn't needed, the platter of ribs and fries was massive and really really tasty. Chocolate lava cake was totally delish.
Breakfast was great with a variety of cereal, fresh fruit, breads and pastries all topped off with a full cooked breakfast. My children basically are their body weight in food.
And the cherry on the top our dino tickets were included in our package. This deal is very good value for money.
Would I recommend this deal — heck yes, just book it you will not be disappointed.
I have stayed in at least 6 different motels in Palmy and if I ever need accommodation there again Copthorne Hotel will be my first choice.

Nice facilities. Helpful staff. Good rooms and service.

Overall clean and comfortable, but no A/C so it was very hot, can't open the window much because of safety rules and no fan in the room.

New carpets. Great reception. Easy parking. Restaurant prices looked reasonable although didn't eat there. Supermarket right across the road. perhaps some more attention to detail with cleaning would be good but it wasn't shocking.

Let me park my Motorcycle right out front. Thats always going to be a plus for me.
