Lovely spacious rooms, conformable beds, great location, will be back.

We booked a 2 night stay at a considerable cost last weekend. The Covid lockdown then hit and we were unable to travel to Tauranga.
We have attempted to contact the Hotel on a number of occasions but they will not reply to emails and will not answer the phone.
They have now refused to refund our money or to shift the accommodation dates!
They have been absolutely hopeless to deal with and we wouldn’t recommend staying there to anyone.

Heart breaking behaviour of receptionist
Disliked · we went there and upgraded our room by paying extra $110 to get a $298 room and we found that the electric blanket was unplugged so I moved the bed to plug the blanket but found dirty shirt and rubbish behind it which is very unhygienic in the era of covid and we also found a beer bottle in balcony with cigarette butts in it. When the next day we went to check out then there’s a couple very rude. Told my partner to get lost and ruined our day I have video of them too. And pictures of dirty places. Very disappointed with there behaviour. Highly disappointed and will tell everyone to not go there.

Room was dirty. There was long black hair in the bathroom. I have blonde hair so not mine.
Really unimpressed for what was meant to be the honeymoon suite.
The bed was comfortable and the location is perfect.
But for $250 per night I would never stay there again.
The noise from the wrapped tower next door was terrible through the night and kept us awake.

Staff very rude. Said they processed our bond refund. Not in our account, refused to email or give any proof of transaction, but told us to follow up with our bank and put the phone down.

We feel, as per reading a lot of reviews on other booking sites that the way these rooms are advertised to customers vs what they actually are is VERY different. For starters, the room we stayed in was advertised as a executive suite and let me tell you, there was nothing executive about it at all. All furnishings are extremely outdated and dirty. Bed was very uncomfortable and worn out. Our first impressions was very underwhelming. Big stain on our carpet, hair in our bedding, dust everywhere. Secondly, the resort and towers are two separate properties and thus rooms should be labelled this way when booking. We thought for the amount we paid for one night we would be staying in the towers but no we was just down from the reception area in what seems like a 2 star motor inn or what is the “resort” area. We complained on arrival of the quality and was only offered a full refund as they was fully booked. Unfortunately there was no other accommodation available in the area or we would have left straight away. We thought most hotels these days would hold credit card/debit card details to charge if damage to room etc but this hotel still takes bond of $200-300 off visa debit card holders and takes 2 working days to refund. Reception had one staff on during check in time of 2pm meaning it was very rushed and long wait. Wifi service was poor and of course there’s the option to pay for better. I’m sorry but that’s a low punch considering we paid $250 for one nights stay.

Absolutely horrifying and racist behaviour from the concierge who overcharges people of colour.

Friendly service, great location by the beach. Spacious kitchen and rooms. Had a great time!

We couldn't be more scathing of this 'Resort'. We are regular vistors to The Mount & usually stay at The Pacific, which is lovely. This time for my wife's birthday we thought we'd go all out, $485 per night at Oceanside 'Resort'. Never have we had such a poor experience. There was no indication that the building was being renovated on any sites or with booking confirmation. We requested a room with good views & were put on the 3rd floor. The room, 3A, was crap. The balcony hadn't been cleaned for ever, rusted & dangerous looking balcony, absolutely minimal, old & tacky furniture, carpet bunched, & appalling lack of amenities given the price. You'd expect better in a $120 a night dive. The pool was only accessible by going out on to the street & walking around the block because of the reno's, maybe not a problem, if we had been made aware & could make a choice, but no mention in any publicity. This 'resort' is obviously very poorly managed, & when the rude woman at reception was made aware of our concerns she told us 'there was nothing she could do', in a way that basically said 'sod off'. As mentioned by others this rude person shouldn't be allowed near customer service.

Lovely room, massive living room, very comfy bed and a mega powerful shower Top place.

Highly recommend not staying here false advertising really poor service we got a studio room for 153 dollars for one night and paid for it before we stayed, had to pay 150 bond when we got there or had to have a credit card which not every body has, could not use visa, also when we checked out we got told, that we have to pay another 45 dollars because we used the 2 beds in our room which we were not told before hand, never going there again really bad experience. Not to add waiting 30 minutes at the counter waiting for some one to see us to check in, and the whole place stunk like curry! New owners I’m assuming what a waste!

Do not stay here! We used to stay here 3-4 times per year but since it's changed owners a year ago it has gone down hill and every visit has got worse. Last weekend was our final straw and we will never stay again. The staff are so rude, argued with my complaint even and it's getting more and more run down. Sad to see what used to be a 5 star amazing hotel turn into a 1 Star hotel. We will never stay again & suggest you don't either!

Great location, handy to beach, hot pools, mountain and restaurants.

Very disappointed with the state of our room. For what we paid, I felt like a motel would have been a better option. Bathroom was terrible, so outdated it felt like I was using a communal bathroom and should have worn jandals. Bed was terrible — apparently this is due to the mattress topper but I don’t believe that (I have one in my bed at home) it just felt like sleeping on a cheap foam mattress. No air con — rooms were very hot at night with just a dusty fan in the corner to use. Only thing going for this place is the location. For the state of the room, rate should be half what we paid.

Stayed in Oceanside recently. Single bed on lounge was way past it use by date. It had been sat on too much so when lying down felt like I was going to roll out all tbe time. Tried the sofa bed, but it was so old the bar was pressed into the timber frame and took ages to got the bed to open. Matress about 2cm thick. Sofa so uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time, the cusions so worn that there was no comfort. Toilet seat did not fit the toilet correctly… Told the office about the single bed and were informed it would be looked at but never heard back from tbem. Signage in room states you may be charged for any excess cleaning costs, pity tbat any earlier money collevted had not have been used to clean the tiles and caroets in our room.

Enjoyed the pleasant surroundings with family. Beautiful views. Close to the Mount for a great walk. Close to the cafes. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location and spacious room with both mountain and sea view. Very close to shops & restaurants. However can improve to include free unlimited Wi-Fi instead of one off 1GB.

We stayed a couple of nights here and booked 3 rooms. Reception was great and we were offered a large parking for our minibus. The staff really went outside there way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool as well as the free videos CDs. The only concern we had was the bad Wi-Fi connectivity. We bought a 30GB package but it was taking ages to download any item. We are visitors to NZ and Wi-Fi was really critical for us to stay connected with home.

We stayed at the resort over Queens Birthday weekend in one of the apartments. Not a cheap exercise but it was a special treat for my sister who had recently lost her husband. The apartment was OK dated but clean and tidy BUT the parking in the basement is a disaster. Too close and almost no space to back out safely. First night parked safely as the basement was mostly empty, second night had to park on the road as there was no way we could get the car into the allocated space. Third night again almost empty but when we went to leave in the morning the space was so tight scraped the side of the car against one of the pillars. When I spoke to reception was told that the parking spaces were poorly designed and she was sorry and hoped it hadn't taken the shine off our stay — and the manager wasn't the least bit interested. If you staye here dont park in the basement and in fact go to the apartments on the other side of the road their parking is superior and the units are more modern. It wasn't the damage so much that upset me so much but the management couldn't care less attitude.

This is a lovely, new property, right at the foot of Mt Maunganui. The rooms and bathroom are spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent, right near several restaurants and the start of the trail for the mountain. We were able to rise early and climb the mountain to view sunrise from the top. My only quibble is that the Wi-Fi was very flaky — cutting in and out. I would definitely return, if only for the great location.

Best place to stay when you are at the Mount! You are across the road from the hotpools, the Mount and the beach, in roomy self service apartments, and with its own swimming and spa area.

A fantastic location right next to the Mount. The hotel is a little tired although the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms large. Bathroom was a little basic but clean and functional. The pool was not large and was packed with kids when we went to use it (we went to the beach instead). For a short stay this is a great value option.

Advertised as if it's in twin towers but in fact it is a low level building behind it ayway where we got our room. The room was big and spacy, although there was an ant problem all over the kitchen space. There was a small stain in one of the sheets looked like blood from a cut. The room had no air conditioning just a standing fan. There was a pool near the room. Breakfast was not included. 2 people around 190 $NZ.

Great location across from the beach. Walking distance to a few restaurants. Staff was very friendly.

Amazing time here was really fun. A great place to have your honey moon and birthday party.

Decent rooms, good service and reasonable prices. A really great option is that they work with a list of cafes and restaurants on the area so you can charge your meal back to your room.

Pros: Room was spacious with a nice bathroom, comfortable bed, good underground parking. Cons: Some street noise, thin walls so you are able to hear other guests movement VERY clearly and the Wi-Fi connection was very inconsistent but was fast for the hour I bothered using it.

This Resort has a good selection of rooms. We have stayed in the Penthouse, the Standard Room and the Cheapest Room, dependant on our requirements at the time. Lots of choice just ask, they are very obliging. Great views, right next to cafes, restaurants and beach.

Room facing the mt, had small balcony. Parking in the basement. Has gym and sauna which is in another building. Decent size room.

Friendly staff, nice clean room. The free movies to borrow came in handy for the rainy days.

Had a enormous room which included laundry, kitchenette and 2 balconies. The choice of TV in the bedroom or lounge room was great. Leather lounge suites were very comfortable if mismashed in colour. Would definitely return.

I love staying here the rooms are gorgeous the view from the room we had is spectacular! I'd recommend this place to anyone to stay its sooooo relaxing and has an amazing settings all around inside the hotel and outside too.

Oceanside Resort is the best place to stay at the Mount, service you could not fault, a view to die for, our apartment was huge and not a speck of dust to be seen. Can't wait for my next visit, hopefully very soon.

Great location to the Mount, beach cafes and restaurants Staff amazing and always willing to help Rooms are HUGE and with the introduction of the heatpump/airconditioning units makes it the place to stay in the Mount :-) Will be back.
