I’ve been in Kathmandu three times and always at Yak and yeti! I still remember the perfume you can smell in the lobby! Service is impeccable, food is great and the staff is adorable! It’s a hotel I really miss when I’m at home ☺️

I liked Garden Atmosphere!

Poor room with no air conditioning facility, they provide fan. Also the casino is closed no information with staff too that the casino is open or not (which was closed) seem like its a 2star property. Very poor service. Avoid this place if possible there are several better options around. This place gonna shut soon if they kept the same attitude. Writing this at 2am staying awake at property due to inconvenience. I rate is 2star property.

I am attending a Youth Conference at Yak and Yeti now. I have been to this hotel before but my experience in terms of food and staff’s behavior is extremely disappointing this time. I am not happy with the breakfast. Breads weren’t toasted and the butter was extremely hard. Bread and butter is suppose to go together but sadly it didn’t work that way here. Also, There was no vegetarian option so ended with just fruits.
I understand all of these things are based on budget but I believe a five star hotel must at least maintain a minimum standard. There are soooooooo many 3 star hotels better than this and I could recommend. I wouldn’t suggest a hotel like this.

This is one of the best hotel in Kathmandu, particularly for conference. Rooms are comfortable too. I love the open space of the hotel and definitely the food.

Hotel environment is pleasant, enjoyable especially garden. Garden area is full of lovely flowers, grass, pond and pool as well. We enjoyed a lot and recommend however staff at dinning hall need to be more polite with guests particulaly with kids. Anyway overall staying rating I prefer as per my experience 8 out of 10.

One of the finest and popular 5-star hotels of Nepal. It is centrally located and is easily accessible. The ambience and environment within the hotel premises is very surreal. It has fantastic rooms and suites. Food is amazing and the hospitality is top-notch. Poolside is very enjoyable.

Its a good property. I particularly liked the garden scaping which is beautifully done. You will love it. The interiors are well crafted with wooden carvings. Flip side — for single person two separate single beds given rather than one double bed. The room does not have chain lock, poor guest is at the mercy of staff who all have keys. Think of female guest insecurity?

This place was absolutely amazing! It was a true 5 star hotel with amazing service and food. When we arrived, we were just getting off a 12 day trek in the Himalayas and to be greeted at the hotel with fresh beers from the bar and jumping into the pool was a real taste of luxury. The staff are all really nice and helpful. They do money exchanges at the front desk, the massages were excellent, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. I recommend this place to anybody looking for a great stay in Kathmandu.

This one of the best known hotels in Kathmandu. Service is good and location too. However it needs to renovate the bathrooms and carpets. The surroundings, garden at the back, breakfast restaurant all are great. For a hotel of this price I expected toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc but there was none. Good fun because there are many souvenir stores, restaurants, casinos and money changers around.

I visited this place in 1987 around November. Centrally located great hotel and one of the oldest in Kathmandu city. Love this place. People are very friendly. Property's is so large and we'll maintained.

Although it is an ultra-modern hotel, the traditional Nepali architectural features have been preserved.

Upper scale oldish hotel. Well situated for city centre sites, nice breakfast and treasonable rooms. The old section is a former palace converted to hotel at the launch of the climbing tourism boom in the fifties and has some amazing rooms if you can get in (it's a conference venue). There are more modern higher end hotels but I like this one.

I would like to comment how pleased I was with the service provided to me by entire hotel staff. I was fortunate enough to attend a marriage ceremony on February 07 2018 of my sister. I have attended such ceremonies at many hotels across Nepal. However, I found this particular hotel pretty good and the staff very friendly. I wanted to express my appreciation for the superior service I received during the ceremony at the venue. The hospitality was efficient and the staff were… very helpful and deserve a great deal of praise for their excellent customer service. The staff maintained a positive attitude and ensured I felt welcome. I was amazed at the consistency in their performance and willingness to go the extra mile as well as the well sanitated environment. The staff were all well groomed. The Yak and Yeti Hotel resembles a standard that others should take inspiration from.

A very good hotel in a quiet location.

Big hall for corporate events, product launch, musical nights. Good food, good place @ center of city. Easily accessible jewellery shops, shopping malls, banks, restaurants.

Feels like I was transported back into the European Renaissance era with the exterior of this place. Doorman was really friendly and greets you every time you enter/ exit. We stayed at a room that has a pool view — very pretty view in the morning. Love the cleanliness of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. Strongly recommend. There’s a shopping mall right outside as well — perfectly situated with all amenities.

I surely like to meet that fool who has given any stars to this place. It isn't even a 2 star hotel. Find a word worst than horrible and give this place the name. The rooms, service, reception everything sucks. I am writing this review while I am still stuck in this dungeon (prepaid). The bathroom tiles are falling apart and the room is like a rat hole. Stinks! Got carried away with prior reviews!. I have my doubts on their authencity of the reviews now. Honestly, Just stay away from this place.

Not worth… 1. Wifi is chargeable.
Even in smallest of food joints, at railway platforms, at airports, everywhere now it is complimentary while at Y&Y, it is still chargeable as if we are still living in stone age. … 2. No bathroom slippers in a 5 star property. They later told it is a request item, as if it is something worth requesting for. Even a resort in a remote location, provides such basic items, WITHOUT REQUEST. And even if it is a request item, staff has no courtesy to inform the guest, neither at time of checking in nor through print advise in room. 3. House keeping staff has authority to tresspass the property in your posession, ie room occupied by you, on pretext of making up / cleaning up the room, even when u have not requested for the same. Who would own up for the lost items/cash is left to God only. 4. No stationary kit available in room. 5. No mobile charging stations/ point in ur room. Hotel management expects a guest putting up in a 5 star property to go under the table and fix up your charger there. 6. They dont even ask for ur feedback, as if they are confident of their futile services. 7. My worst experience till date.

My stay was pretty good, considering what Nepal can offer as a Hotel.
The room was not extraordinary, the Wi-Fi very low, knowing that the G does not exist, but hey, the staff was nice and warm, and we still feel that they "try" to do the best. So that deserves a good note, because I take into consideration the context.

The Yak & Yeti is a classy hotel. It has large, comfortable rooms and a highly efficient staff. It would be a good hotel in any city but really stands out in Kathmandu. Limited dining options while other restaurant is closed for renovations but buffet is adequate. Gym/spa/pool available amenities. Airport transportation included is a plus. Excellent value by international standards.

Been there multiple occasions. For a hotel of that many stars it certainly isnt my favorite place especially how less spacious it is. Everything looks cramped into a very little place. But the location is prime so easy access. Food is just average.

Probably one of the oldest 5 star hotels in Katmandu. It has a heritage building as the banquet hall. This hotel has an old charm with a golf course next to it. The staff here is experienced and courteous and they know their job.

One of the most decent yet beautiful hotel with a lake in the garden area. Different cuisines, locals are very humble, a casino to enjoy, the hotel has Shopping centre as well, the room service is superb. It was one of the most amazing experiences so far with beautiful architecture of the hotel and well maintained garden making your day everyday. Beautiful experience.

My recommendation for this Hotel and Casino … Don't ever go with ur family coz the staff is terrible. They are having truly insulting behaviour with my family on 25th June 2017. My family went first time in casino of Yalk n Yetti and played by using their coupon. In between playing playing they felt like having some dinner and approached for table. The staff immediately took back plates from their hands and asked for some coupon. I went several time there but never faced such issue. When I asked about this, the person sitting on counter behaved like we are beggars. I went several time but never felt comfortable as the staff and waiters are very rude. So my recommendation for this group of Hotels is negative till infinity.

Stayed here for a week. Very peaceful stay, the hotel has a big garden and all state of the art facilities and amenities. Location is right next to the royal palace. Friendly staff, highly recommended if you are looking for a heritage hotel that is filled with Nepalese culture.

Hello to everybody, who is going to stay in Yak and Yeti, Katmandu I think hotel Yak and Yeti can't be named a 5-star hotel. There are cockroaches in the hotel's rooms, and personnel of the hotel cheats the guests. Absolutely unpleasant situation happened with me in Yak and Yeti, while staying in the hotel, in may 2010. I made buying in jeweller's in the hotel. I bought precious stones — ruby, but a decision of a commission of experts shows that this «stones» are glass. It is impossible, that such situation could happen in 5-star Hotel with international standards. I was ready to give decision of a commission of experts and send back this «buying», asked the top management of the hotel about it, asked to take measures and help to solve situation. But I didn't got even answer! I think that self-respecting person can't be the guest/client of the hotel Yak and Yeti, Katmandu.

This is an oasis in the heart of kathmandu. And it's nothing at all like kathmandu! mostly a bunch of rich old people who want to tell their friends that they "roughed it out" in nepal, but spent the week playing tennis and lounging by the pool. When you go to kathmandu, you shouldn't be in a place like this but in a rented house or hotel room where you don't have a servant at your beck and call. The restaurant, however, is fantastic and not to be missed.
