Great location 5min walk to thamel! Very clean, shower with hot water (hot not warm) and clean. It's a travel agency also. If you need a your just ask the staff. The manager SanJay's nice always ready to help you! He bring me to the pick up point at 5 am! You have a rooftop bar/restaurant (very good) with a lot a choice! Also the Wi-Fi's good everywhere in the hotel! The room a nice and clean with hot blanket! Enjoy your stay!

Good nice and clean worth staying, quite place walking distance from the main market not too high prices having roof top restaurant also.

Situated at very good environment. Specially focused on international tourists with better facility. Good parking facilities and has a nice view. It has a wheelchair accessible entrance as well as wheelchair accessible parking. Staffs seems not that cool but facilities seems very good.

It is close to the local markets and easy to access to Durbar Sqr. Room was clean, and toilets not that bad. It worth the price! end staff is friendly and nice!

I am a senior lady solo traveler, spent 7 days in the Famous House Kathmandu Youth Hostel. My room and common areas were always clean. The breakfast delicious and the staff helpful.

The staff here made me feel right at home! Ganesh and Sanje went out of there way every day of my stay to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. Bishnu is an amazing cook and makes delicious food for any hungry explorer any time of the day. I highly recommend this hostel for any and all travelers looking for a high quality, clean, and safe place to stay on their adventure!

Dorm is great option for budget solo travelers.

Nice and clean place, just north of Thamel. There's lockers in rooms and quite good Wi-Fi. The terasse give a nice view.

Staff is very friendly. Everything was fairly clean and nice for what you pay. Food was very good! Had some issues with the showers water pressure on second level and our room had a fan but it didn't plug in or work so it was VERY hot. Having a fan would have been the 5th star! Decent value for the price!

It's a good place for backpackers, clean and cheap. When you come in, staff welcome you with a smile… but this might change easily if you don't contract a tour with them. Some of the men who hang around at the top floor restaurant try to arrange tours with guests. One of them has his own desk in the same hall as the reception is. We refused to contract his services as we just wanted to know the prices of some tours (he asked around 200-250 dollars pp). The day after, we wanted to extend our stay here… the girl at the reception was tense and avoiding eye contact… so awkward! She said she wasn't sure if they will have availability… meanwhile, the tour-guy was at his desk watching loud videos. Later we checked in Agoda and Booking and they had so many rooms available for the next days.

This very nice and cheap hostel situated about 15 minutes walking distance from thamal. Its a very clean and quite place. They provide independent rooms as well as sharing bed rooms. Price are very friendly. They provide free baggage storage. Staff is very friendly. Over all a good place to stay in kathmandu.

I've tried many hostels everywhere I've never met a such great staff. They are really helpful and sooo smiling! The hostel is clean with a lot of services (restaurant, free luggage storage during trekking, laundry, free Wi-Fi, …) and not far from Thamel — place to be in Katmandu ;)

Kathmandu Youth Hostel is located in a very peaceful area in Kathmandu but same time it is very close to the Thamel main road.
The hostel is very clean, beautiful, with very nice views, peaceful neighbourhood and has very great manager and very friendly, helpful and happy staff — one of THE BEST places You could ever find in Kathmandu!
