My room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very good, in the middle of the Tibetan neighborhood, 8 minutes walk from The main stupa of Kathmandu. The price seemed excellent in relation to the quality of the hotel and the prices of the other hotels in this city. Definitely recommended.

Rooms are quite big and comfortable, but the service needs some improvement. For example, Kathmandu is experiencing power shortage according to hotel personnel, power interruption occurs several times in a day. Our room's air condition was damage. Hotel refuses to change room even our air condition is not working. We have experience sleeping with blinds and windows open for one night. So we have to go through a long unpleasant argument and negotiation, then finally they give us a new room. Other than the mentioned problem, everything is still okay.

Warm welcome. Nice little inner garden. Neat decoration. Very good food. Conveniently located a few steps from Boudhanath.

Very slow Wi-Fi in the rooms. Very nice staff and very expensive restaurant. Good food but 480 Rps for MoMo +23% surcharge? Most expensive restaurant (by far) we have seen during our 2 week Nepal trip.

Nice environment and good service.

After a three-month trip through Nepal, I spent the last days in a little paradise. The Tibetan-style hotel impresses with its beautiful furnishings, its very lovable staff and the very beautifully landscaped gardens. All this coupled with cleanliness contributes enormously to the well-being. I will certainly book it again on my next stay. Absolutely without compromise recommended!

Good hotel to stay in. Peaceful and calm place. A little far away from the main city but 20mins drive from the airport. Breakfast service can be improved. Recommend.

What a wonderful experience that we have as our first trip in Kathmandu and Shambaling is part of it! Hotel is well situated just 10 mins walk from Boudhanath… the staff are very helpful and polite… always smiling every time we come across them. I had a wonderful time there and definitely go back to stay next trip…

Stayed here with my friend for our last day in Nepal and we were blown away by the amazing ambience, service and amenities. Everything was perfect, down to the last detail. Staff are courteous, food was great, and rooms are impeccable. This place is like an oasis when you get tired exploring the streets of kathmandu. Very good rooms, lovely garden and food served. Nice showers and facilities. Howevef Wi-Fi is quite slow.

Last day I have visited this hotel to pick up my friend who came from Mexico for the tour. At that time I speak with recepsanist was very kind and helpful. I have wait my friend because he gave me a appointment at 9 am he was bit late and I asked to ring phone to his room then I find him a bit later they offer me for breakfast was very nice and had very nice Garden. Thanks to all staff.

Lovely place, very attentive staff. Great breakfast. Every floor is themed in one of the Tibetan colors. The approach road can be deceiving when it rains.

Quiet, clean and spacious room. Good location. Quite a gem.

Pros: Very clean. Functioning Wifi. Consistent hot water. Decent AC. Exceptionally helpful staff. Very close to the Stupa — only a 5-10 minute walk. Cons: Visited in August, and the road to get there was pretty rutted and muddy courtesy of the monsoon rains, but we were told that the government is meant to be sealing the roads within the next year. Food was ok — not great, but not terrible. Also charge $15 (plus 10% Service charge and 13% tax) for an airport transfer, when taxi's cost less than a third of that. Overall: Welcome respite from the craziness of Kathmandu.
