One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The building, interior, room, furnitures are all beautiful. The breakfast is tasty — I tried Mohinga — a rice noodle and fish soup, an essential part of Burmese cuisine. The bar is stylish and serves good cocktails.

A beautiful historic hotel with a classy grand lobby area. The staff will friendly and helpful. The place is absolutely marvelous. However, it is the stay is costly.

I stayed at The Strand for a few nights on a business trip and was blown away by the experience. The rooms are simple yet elegant, covered with wooden floors and a beautiful bathroom with a separate bath tub/ shower unit. The rooms are spacious and the bed was so comfortable it let me sleep through my jet lag with no problem. The food was phenomenal, we ate the breakfast at the cafe each morning and were blown away by how delicious each meal was. The restaurant is simply great, they'll even let you order room service from their menu, which is ridiculously cheap. My co-worker and I were concerned of getting sick while working in Myanmar but we never had a problem at The Strand, truly an amazing place all around. If the pool or spa doesn't win you over it will be the service. The 24 hour butler service is amazing, they'll get you fresh coffee or tea and even leave some treats on your bed before you go to sleep. I've traveled around the world and this is my favorite hotel so far, truly an experience for royalty. No wonder Mick Jagger stayed here! Make sure to stay here if you're in Yangon!

Beautiful, gorgeous, delicious, clean, classy… these words can describe this awesome hotel This hotel was real highlight of our travels. The history of this place blown our minds and we felt like to travel back in time in beautiful hotel. The food was just so delicious we enjoyed every meal we had there with no regrets. The pool side and spa area are awesome. The salty pool just puts crown on top :) Original pieces of minimum age of 70 years gave us goose skin. Have to thank to Grace, Mark and all of staff in hotel… They were absolutely great support during out stay on this hotel and without them it wouldn't be complete. Thank you for having us :)

Our two nights stay was part of our honeymoon travel and it was an excellent experience. We had the warmest welcome we ever received in a hotel and enjoyed top quality services such as massage and dinner in the restaurant. People from the staff is very kind, they are constantly wishing to help and provide a very comfortable relation with the hotel itself.

I went there with my Wife during Thingyan holiday for tea time around 3pm. It was a colonial building (over a hundred years old) and beautifully renovated. We had our coffee and snacks in Strand Cafe and spent the wonderful evening there. It was an amazing experience. The staffs are very polite and helpful, the food are great and price is also fair, just a little bit expensive ($4 for a cup of coffee) but I believe it’s worth every penny and will certainly go there again with my family.

I was able to eat here for dessert. I also had afternoon tea. Service, presentation, and taste were topnotch. Aside from the food, the hotel, the cafe and its interiors were beautiful. It brings you back to a different time.

We were there for just the restaurant. It is a historic hotel with very nice luxurious decorations, but the service was bad. We were dressed pretty casually and we were being followed around and stopped when taking pictures in the hotel because we weren't staying there. Some of the wait staffs in the restaurant were also giving us attitudes while they were all smiles toward the foreigners. Didn't feel welcome at all. It's too bad because this is probably the most iconic hotel in Myanmar.

Afternoon tea (classic English or Myanmar-style) for about 20 USD including food and a choice of tea or coffee. Champagne is available for extra. The staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly. The setting was relaxed, the only negative really was the the cafe was quite warm inside.

Don't come here for breakfast. Fresh fruit was able a tablespoon of mush. Why bother with the renovation if you are going to rip people off so they don't come back.

A little disappointed with the restaurant. If the frame and the dishes are flawless, the service was a bit light: error in to order, dishes arrived with bcp lag and 2 consecutive errors on the addition. Price in relation to the frame.

So stylish. Love this hotel! If there was a pool it would be perfect. Rooms are stunning, the food in the restaurant is incredible and the bar is very cool.

We didn’t stay here, only stopped by for lunch! Two stars because this place is iconic. Took 3 away because, well… regarding service they forgot to bring 2 (of 5) items ordered. And, regarding quality, after tasting the first three things we weren’t sorry.

Excellent afternoon tea. A range of 4 savoury and 7 sweet bites. All were excellent. Unlimited tea or coffee. Beautiful setting. Reasonable cost for afternoon tea.

Grand representation of a bygone era with a totally modern twist. Old colonial glamour coupled with modern service standards. Nostalgic and inspiring. Glamorous and chic. Well worth a visit even if not staying in one of its 31 suites.

The best hotel in Yangon without a doubt.

Very nice and chic hotel! Everything is just remodeled and you get a nice and clean vibe! Rooms are very spacious and decorated with a good taste. The concierge was one of the best in Asia! always willing to help and make everything happen! Coffee is great and the bar is super cool and food at the restaurant great as well! I was not a big fan of Yangon or Myanmar overall but this hotel completely made things easier for us while we were there!

In the area of embassies is undoubtedly a jewel of colonial architecture in Myanmar, necessary visit to enjoy the afternoon tea that is exceptional or enjoy its fabulous menu. Recommended 100%

Cocktails used to be much better, now they're pretty watered down, but they're willing to fix the drink if you reject it, so no worries. Gave 3 stars because their creme Brule was a joke, it had the consistency of vomit and the waiter insisted that's how it should be (it should be firm and hold shape, yet creamy). I then requested for a different dessert, lava cake, which was more like rich chocolate cake dough that wasn't properly baked (lava cake should have a distinct fully formed dough covering with molten, flowing chocolate flowing out when you cut it). Otherwise service is good and waiters are attentive.

The hotel was amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange a bubble bath with rose petals. Also, the in-room breakfast was delicious and offered many choices. We will definitely come back to this hotel the next time we visit Yangon!

First class dining, Menu & food very good & staff very attentive. Rather disappointed as the meal was previously booked to find the menu very European, would have liked to have sampled the local cuisine in such fine surroundings but cannot fault what we were served. Price of drinks! Och! very very hefty be warned!

Pleasant wood-panelled bar with interesting cocktail menu including several of their own. But heavily 'restored' so hasn't quite got the feel of other contemporary establishments in Asia. Friday evening 2-for-1 happy hour well attended.

We had a wonderful time cooling off at the Strand's beautiful, historic bar drinking their fun signature cocktails. One note: the location listed here is wrong. The hotel is actually a bit farther east down Strand Road by the British Embassy.

Strand Square is a commercial building, not the accomodation known as The Strand Hotel. This whole marker is full of incorrect information.

Beautiful hotel, but at a premium. If you're not staying here, but want a break from Yangon for a real coffee, it's with coughing up the dough for the atmosphere, cappuccino, and Wi-Fi.

The Strand Hotel reflects an era gone in most parts, but not forgotten here. The staff are friendly and efficient; the restaurant choices solid; the decor pleasant; and the location near to sights and the harbor.

Wonderfully maintained British time offering a delicious restaurant, a friendly bar and Hotel shops selling quality Burmese art works. I lived not because prices must be high.

As it seems completely devoid of any type southeast asian feel, come here if what you crave exist several thousand miles to the west. That said, it maintains a rather classy allure and the cafe has some nice options that are hard to find elsewhere in Yangon, though you'll pay for the privilege.

The dining options in The Strand ensure a steady stream of guests who come to enjoy the tasty cafe fare through to the delicious a la carte dishes. Art lovers will also find many treasures hanging on the wall of the gallery to the rear of The Strand, so too will collectors fond of jewellery, fabrics, books and clothing. TIP: If you visit with a guide, please pay respect to the hotel, it is not a museum, and the many in-house guests there should not be annoyed by cameras flashing in the foyer.
