Review of Azulik 5*

What a shame.   We stayed on a Saturday. My friend and I traveled for a girls weekend away from Nov 24-27. We had already booked a hotel for the duration of our trip; however, our first night in Tulum we decided to visit the restaurant in Azulik and fell in love with the appearance of the resort — love-at-first-sight. The resort was unique and the staff was wonderful so we decided to ditch our hotel for the night and stay here instead. WHAT A MISTAKE! I am reading other peoples experiences and be warned this incident is not deemed to just one villa, it is the entire resort. The resort proclaims to be a "relaxing retreat" and it is far from it. During the day all was perfect, at night we came back from dinner in an attempt to sleep, and rest-up to enjoy our full last day in Tulum. But instead we were kept up all night till 4AM by a RAVE from the neighboring resort. I understand that it is out of the control of Azulik but this should be disclosed to their guests before checking-in or they should find some resolution to accommodate guests. They do not have phones in their rooms; therefore, we used our phone to call front desk and endured long distance charges (we called twice and the front desk staff told us this RAVE happens each Saturday and they are sorry but they can't do anything about it). The next morning we insisted to speak to a Manager, Marcelo I believe his name was came out claiming to be a Manager explaining that this only happens during a Full Moon and I assure you it was not a full moon. When we confronted him that front desk told us it occurs every Saturday he denied it and said it happens once in a while otherwise they do disclose it to guests. I took the initiative to contact the neighboring hotel to ask them whether or not they have parties every Saturday and they do! As upset as I was that I did not sleep the entire night, I was even more upset that the Manager lied to my face and did nothing to compensate us for our horrible experience. We just received a SORRY which was not sincere.   Please save your money and if you would like to experience the resort — visit their Restaurant which opens at 5:30PM to have a drink and watch the sunset. Otherwise you will regret it unless you like to RAVE. We were not the only ones in the lobby confronting the Manager about the situation that morning and this will never end so stay away. It is unfortunate because otherwise I would give it a 5* if it was for not the RAVE and the lying "Manager". All other staff were kind and very helpful.
