Full of nice attentions from the staff, nickel room, hot water with good flow, air conditioning and fan. Pool outside nice. Simple and effective breakfast; hot drink, fruit juice, fruit, toast, yoghurt and cereal. I highly recommend it!

A beautiful hotel. All the details are rarely found in Tulum for such a price. If then you can't pay them. The staff was super super nice, helpful. It is really recommended.

Comfortable, great pool, nice breakfast, friendly staff. The staff helped us find great places to eat that were authentic and for the locals not the forest traps that are every where. Be aware all the places around that area are cash only and prefer USD.

Great spot to stay and explore Tulum. Very lovely design and private. Ten minutes walk away from the centre and 20 min drive by bike to the beach and Maya ruins.

Great little chic hotel. Read the reviews on trip advisor. Mattias, the afternoon/night clerk, does a great job. Would definitely return. Exterior is not impressive but wait till you get inside the gate before forming opinions. Nice breakfast area on platform beside pool.

The hotel building itself is beautiful and located a 8 min walk outside of tulum City. Reasons for my rating: — thin walls, you can hear everything from the hotel floor — very wet, small room with no door to the toilet. Very strange situation: even for people that know each other very well ;)

The water in the pool is very cold the most exclent.

A nice little clean and relatively quiet sanctuary very near the centre of Tulum. A bit more of a hostel than a hotel, but price very reasonable nonetheless. Basic cereal and toast breakfast and washing up for yourself afterwards. Pool and bar must be good in high and hot season, but very quite and therefore mostly unused while we were there — no comparison to the sea and beach! Rooms air conditioned, but ours was either on or off, temperature control not really working. Beds very large and comfortable and bathroom fully functional.

Really good hotel! AC worked, spacious room with king bed and one single bed, shower had cold and hot water, wash cloths, few towels, candles, water, free breakfast. All was great. It felt very personal because we got there very late. (Around 10/11 PM) and they left us a brief note, greeting us, Wi-Fi password and telling us when breakfast starts. The pool was clean and very relaxing. Breakfast was toast, jam, cereal, water, orange juice, and coffee. Had a really nice vibe and Joshua and Daniela were really great! You get two keys, one for your room and the other for the entrance. The neighborhood does seem a little bit sketchy if you're arriving at night but it's very well "protected" with a nightguard. Only complaints would be Wi-Fi was a bit on the slow side, and shower was small. No TV but given the fact that we're traveling, we don't really need a tv. But overall very good hotel. Beautiful interior and just a really good feeling.

Lovely pool and outdoor deck area. Room was good, a bit warm even with air conditioning and fan. Make sure you close all windows to avoid mosquitos. Location is pretty central to tulum city. They have bikes for rental.

My husband and I had an incredible stay at Howlita this past March. Tucked just a few blocks off the southwest corner of the main town of Tulum, it is quiet and secluded. We loved waking up each morning to the sounds of the jungle, and the warm breeze. The rooms are perfectly appointed — they provide you with drinking water each day, soap, and even a stick of incense. AC and Fans are in the rooms, as well as plenty of hot water in your shower every morning. It felt like such a luxury after staying on the beach where electricity and hot water are more of a commodity. My favorite parts of our stay were the extremely friendly staff! We were greeted by first name upon arrival by Maura and Joshua. They gave us a map of town, and marked off their favorite places (Batey, Chiapaneca, Posada) — which we went to all, multiple times! We had a rental car, and parking was easy — plus they offer bikes you can use if you want to bike around town or to the beach. Dinner (Chiapaneca) was just a 5-7 minute walk, and Batey an additional 10 minutes, and afterwards we took a cab home (about 25-50 pesos). Getting around was easy, and we always felt safe and secure! The beds are very comfortable, and with the AC you won't get too hot at night. If you prefer you can also leave your door open (there's a screen) if you want to listen to the sounds of the jungle.

Wonderful staff, clean and charming, bikes to rent, pool to cool off between jaunts. Definitely recommend! Note cold water showers.

The hotel is very small… but it is perfect! It's like a small private hotel. Wonderful. They take care of the details and have a touch boutique that makes them special. The bathrooms are different and one enjoys to be in them. The pool area is very relaxing.
100% recommended. Mary and Camila managers are very friendly and always with a smile. The hotel is very quiet and one can rest at ease.
The parking is very safe, compared to other hotels you have to park on the street. In the Howlite you raise your car ramp in the parking. In addition, it has security at the entrance and each guest has the key to the front door of the hotel.
The price is extremely accessible, and here not cut you current at any time. It is worth coming to the Howlite if you have programmed adventure tours in Tulum and then want to return to your hotel to sleep, rest or read a good book facing the pool. By the way, the pool was impeccably clean, and you offer towels free.

My husband and I spent one week at the Howlita just under a week ago. We are so glad we chose this hotel because of it's location in authentic Mexico. The hotel is tastefully decorated, continental breakfast healthy and the staff so friendly and attentive.

Nice rooms. Quiet neighborhood. Off the main road. Extremely helpful staff. Be aware, this is very much a poor neighborhood but very safe and well lit at night. People in the area are very friendly.
