This hotel is brilliantly situated in the heart of Play del Carmen but you don't hear any noise from the bars and restaurants. Good choices for breakfast. The pool area was undergoing some maintenance whilst we were there but it's cool and refreshing after a hot day out. There aren't many sun loungers but this wasn't an issue when we were there as very few people were using them.

Amazing Hotel! The pool is awesome, the atmosphere is relaxing and the most magnificent is the attention of all your staff. Any request or help you need in your stay I am sure that they will take care to make your stay the most enjoyable!

We stayed at La Tortuga for our honeymoon in December for a week and were very happy with the location in downtown Playa, literally a block away from the shops on 5th Ave and close to the beach clubs too. We had a nice room in 218 with a comfortable bed and a jacuzzi which needed some work on the drain plug. The only other problem we noticed was the water quality which was very salty, but we realize that's an issue with most hotels in Playa del Carmen. It was very quiet during the day and night which was good since we worried about staying so close to Coco Bongo right down the street. The complimentary breakfast was good and we chose to have it delivered to our balcony a few times. By far the best part about Tortuga is the staff! They were some of the nicest people we have encountered and extremely helpful in locating good local places to eat and excursions to take. We decided to change up our entire plan for tours based on their advice and did not regret it. We want to give a special shout to Zeniff and Raffa for their courtesy and professionalism in helping us enjoy our vacation!

Beautiful hotel ideally located in the center of Playa del Carmen, a few steps from the famous 5th Avenue very commercial. The pool is beautiful, the staff very nice, the dishes served at ComoComo (adjoining restaurant) are delicious! The breakfast (served at ComoComo) is very good but very simple and ungenerous (a little disappointed on this point). This hotel is perfect but you have to have the means to afford it… for me and my limited budget it was only one night. Damage!

Amazing hotel! Have stayed here twice and will recommend anyone I meet to stay. Staff is friendly, location is perfect on 10th and 14th. Right next to the party street (12th) coco bango is on the posit corner. 5th is right there and you are walking distance to the ADO (bus stop) or the collectibos (public transportation). The pool is gorgeous and one of the reasons we came back. Breakfast was included and it was a full breakfast from 7-1 enough time to sleep in or wake up early for adventures. They have a spot where you can catch the sun and get tan! They also offer spa services. There is a place across the street that sales tacos if you want a snack.

The people here are so awesome the building is older but it is well maintained and clean. The pool area is beautiful and honestly the mosquitos are not as bad as I expected, I have only seen a few. The breakfast is delicious and plenty of variety and just the size portions. I would recommend it to anyone it has been a really wonderful place to stay, it is peaceful and relaxing and again all the staff have been a pleasure to deal with and very helpful.

Great hotel in Playa. The location is perfect if you plan on bar hopping and walking to the beach. The included breakfast is better than most hotels offer. The bar in the hotel has a happy hour that is good also. The pool is very relaxing but it is more for the ambiance than swimming or tanning. I have stayed here twice and highly recommend it if you are looking for a mid range hotel that won't break the bank.

We went here for a massage and found it not very good value for money. Technique was fine however the facilities were poor, head rest kept slipping throughout the massage and the music was not relaxing at all.

Beautiful place, central to Playa del Carmen, comfortable room, reception very nice and Disponibilissimi, super breakfast and staff at Como-como excellent! I would recommend it to everyone thanks to the staff Tortuga.

The staff were very friendly, and spoke English and helped us with whatever we needed. Since it was our first time, we got to update our room and stayed in the swim up room. The room itself was very basic, but it's okay since we were out most of the time anyways. The cleaning staff always did their job so we got to come back to a clean room. In terms of the pool, it was cleaned daily, however, the water was too cold and it wasn't heated, therefore we never ended up using the pool, even if it was attached to our room. That's the only downside I can think of. In terms of location, it's perfect. It's just a block away from 5th ave and a few blocks from the beach. There's a money exchange close by and everything is there. Now the food… the breakfast is included, and it was amazing. We ate there everyday, and the bread, butter and jam was lovely, as well as the 2 different salsas. No complaints there. Everyone is very friendly and the hotel itself is very beautiful and well kept. I loved my stay here and would consider staying here again if I come back to playa.

Beautiful and comfortable. The place is perfect to rest, the outdoor Jacuzzi is fantastic. The spa is perfect and the service very good. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's wonderful for rest. It's worth every weight.

It is a beautiful place, close to the main streets and sites of interest, the beds are comfortable and the staff is very friendly; You have to improve the Wi-Fi and the cleanliness.

Its a very nice and cozy place, I only didn't like the salty water in the shower and no elevators in the building and I had 3 pieces of luggage.

Awesome hotel! I spent the better part of a week searching the web for every hotel, hostel, and vacation rental around Playa del Carmen before choosing La Tortuga. Absolutely amazing pool and lounge areas in the center of the hotel, and a great restaurant overlooking it. Stayed in Junior suite 306 on the 3rd floor, which had perfect views of the pool oasis below from the 2 balconys in the suite. The upper balcony had a private Jacuzzi and lounge bed which was really well kept. The staff was extremely friendly and did everything in their power to make the stay a special one. I don't generally take the time to review places, but this hotel made my vacation, and deserves all the credit for it. Will absolutely be back!

We had a short stay in La Tortuga Spa, and it was a very pleasant one. The staff were friendly, and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, airy and cool (thanks to air-conditioning, balcony double doors, and ceiling fans). The refrigerator in the room was a plus, given the heat it was nice to keep our beverages cool. The common area is charming, and the are ample books available if you want to divulge your inner book worm. The pool table is also available when you want to get out of the sun. The pool and loungers are very convenient you want a break from the beach, which is only a stones throw away. Additionally, breakfast was delicious. The only qualm I would have was the Wi-Fi speed and strength. But it got the job done when it was needed.

Very nice staff very helpful room very clean spacious pool area is great breakfast and delicious… that positive if I have to go back to playa it will be in this hotel it's on… The Como como Restaurant is awesome the kitchen is Really delicious and very refined.

Nice property But on both occasions when I stayed I had very small rooms compared to the price paid. Good in restaurant inside where they also serve breakfast. In general it is not bad but surely at those prices you will find better solutions.

Though not on the beach, it is close to everything you want to do and the service is impeccable. You will find comfortable rooms for a good price that includes an excellent breakfast. The staff here and at the restaurant Como are very attentive and make your stay 1st class.

A Hotel in the center of Playa Del Carmen, a stone's throw from the sea. Fortunately now are finished also the construction work nearby that a little disturbed. However they did not stop me from returning as always to make my holidays. The staff and always very courteous and helpful. And lie at the poolside between palms and and plants and very relaxing. I am a travel agent who has been to the Riviera Maya 42 times. I have friends in Playa del Carmen. La Tortuga is a lovely little oasis of a hotel in town. The rooms were nice and the staff was great and the grounds were beautiful and lush. Breakfast was a real plus. I would recommend this to anyone and I will come back myself.

A Hotel in the Centre of Playa Del Carmen, just steps from the sea. Thankfully now gone are also construction jobs close that a little chanting. Still wouldn't keep me from returning as always to make my holidays. The staff and always very courteous and helpful. And lie by the pool and palm trees and plants and very relaxing. Second time, after 3 years I came back to La Tortuga, pleased to say that the rooms, pools, service is still top notch for the city center in Playa del Carmen, all shops, bars, restaurants and beach are walking distance, my only complain? That the menu of the breakfast was free what ever you wanted to have, now its a fixed menu (limited) and if you want other things, you have to pay, which I did most of the days I stayed there, I think management changed and thats the reason. Bring back the breakfasts! as it was one of the highlights of the hotel.

The top if you're too allergic to the cries of child by the pool from 9 in the morning. And you, it is forbidden for children (rhoooo), so it's the perfect place for your honeymoon or just a trip a lover, he is not on the beach, but the pool and the jacuzzi will make you eye, ideally located in playa del carmen, you enjoy the touristic heart of the city. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the impeccable service, for an unforgettable holiday.

We try to go to Playa del Carmen twice a year but have always gone all inclusive. This time we did it differently and tried La Tortuga. It was an amazing experience. This is a beautiful little place and our room was awesome. Breakfast was always enjoyable and "just right", and the whole staff was so helpful. Being private people we enjoyed the quiet and seclusion of this resort, plus the location to 5th Ave. Was perfect. There was just a few things not quite right but hey, when on vacation we try to be adjustable and make the most of it. We elected not to use their mini-bar, so we had no coffee in-room or bottled water which we missed but was really no big deal since you got great coffee with their breakfast. But we had to leave a $100.00 deposit at check-in which we were told would be refunded at check-out. We are still waiting for this to happen. The cost of going all-inclusive and staying here was about the same, except it was a much more intimate, quiet and relaxing vacation then a huge all-inclusive. I have to say again that the staff was totally awesome and we would stay here again.

We stay there for 2 weeks and we had a wonderful vacation. Nice room decorated and wonderful swimming pool.

The service is excellent and the personal is very kind and helpful. The location is great. The room is comfortable and the beds are very good. The swimming pool is very nice and the staff is cleaning it very often. For the negative points, the air conditioning is somehow hard to adjust and the Wi-Fi is very unstable.

The staff is porto of wonder. Sure we will return. We highly recommend it.

At Current's restaurant. Breakfast was top notch and very quick. Price is excellent for the quality of food.
