AMAZING RESORT! Impeccable service! Worth it!

Truly such an amazing experience! Hard to know where to begin. It is everything you see in the photos but more. Not just beautiful, but the service is unmatched. Having travelled to 60 countries and enjoyed the cultures of so many, this experience is one where everyone is not just friendly, but so authentically kind and helpful. The food is exceptional. The atmosphere, the lighting, our private pool, soaring ceilings. It is all very magical. Had a wonderful dinner at Saffron last night, and terrific breakfast at Oriente this morning, but let me just focus a moment on Javier and our time at Cello tonight. There wasn’t a thing he recommended that wasn’t top notch. His friendly demeanor made us feel like we were being spoiled yet with a life long friend. Thank you, Banyan Tree Mayakoba. A few days more to go, but already talking about when we can come back here again.

A gorgeous place with excellent service and amazing food. Everything was just perfect! And since my kiddo loved the kids’ club it was definitely the best vacation for the whole family!

Just a piece of heaven on earth. Exceptional quality, service and location. Several gourmet restaurants and a massive variety of breakfast food. Beach, pools, spa and a host of excursions. (We snorkelled, swam with dolphins and has Balinese massages). Highly recommended, nothing too much trouble for the friendly staff.

Very slow buggy and in villa food service. Also, food is below average and you can expect to see issues with your order every single time. Secondly, they do not take guests to their rooms/villas through a boat. It looks liek they do from their website and any videos available online. Thirdly, they won't share information about activities or complementary tours until you inquire about them. Lastly, the rooms are very overpriced considering what you get in return for your money. By adding a few more hundred dollars I can stay at four seasons or one and only resorts. A full and detailed review will be coming shortly.

This place is beautiful and tranquil. I commend the sustainable efforts they do employ: composting food waste, refillable shampoo/conditioner/body wash containers in bathrooms, reusable cloth napkins at all restaurants, reusable hand towels in lobby/restaurant bathrooms and their preservation of surrounding natural areas. I would love to see them switch to paper straws or reusable stainless steel, bamboo, or glass and switch from plastic toothpicks to bamboo. It's too close to the ocean to have people littering their plastic disposable straws and toothpicks. Also, switch from plastic water bottles to cans or glass and switch the coffee pods to regular coffee pots in the rooms and or provide local coffee for all guests in the lobby.

Absolutely stunning couples getaway. Great with kids too. Such a unique setup with 4 amazing hotels connected with canals of Mayakoba where you can either take a water taxi to go try out the restaurants in one of the other resorts, or take a stroll or a bike ride through the jungle or a pleasant short walk on the beach (the Resorts are all interconnected in a verity of pathways). You can also take this amazing Eco tour though the canals to see local caves and wildlife. The service and the restaurants of Banyan Tree are outstanding. Saffron especially just blew our minds.

Spectacular resort with one of the most pristine beaches I have ever seen. They have a private boat transfer that can take you through the mangroves surrounding the hotel to the more-or-less private beach. Lots of wildlife (turtles and lizards) on the way.

Stayed for a week in May 2018 and it was absolutely spectacular. We will happily return in the future! To the wonderful staff: Thank you so much for making our stay so effortless and relaxing.

Banyon Tree — calm, serene, attention to detail, quality, impeccable service. We spent a week here to break the daily stress & pressure of work, we left relaxed & rejuvenated. The staff treated us like friends, welcoming, understated, and predicting our needs. The villas are made for complete privacy & the restaurants/bars for interaction. I'm sure there are areas that they can improve but I cannot think of what they might be.

Everything about this place is amazing. From driving into the complex, the beautiful entrance/lobby, the checkin process, being escorted to your jaw dropping room, the beach, the out of this world staff, delicious food, and everything in between — you’ll just be blown away. This was our first time in Playa Del Carmen and we couldn’t have been happier. We felt safe the entire time we were there. Enjoyed every minute of time spent at the Banyan Tree. You’ll probably never want to leave the oasis that is your room (with private pool and hot tub), but make sure you make your way out to the white sands beach via golf cart or ride the beach cruiser they give you down there. You’ll enjoy every minute spent here.

I just went to Banyan Tree Mayakoba for 3 days to attend my good friend's wedding. He frequents the venue and highly recommended it, so we decided to support him and explore a new resort in Cancun. The resort is astounding when you get in. You drive though forests with many trees. The staff are extremely courteous and their English is well spoken. Their buggy system of golf carts is effective in which they pick you up, drop you off, and more. Sometimes it takes 5-15 minutes to get one, but that's no big deal since the resort is so massive! Wi-Fi is also available at the resort, and consistent/fast. Always important! GOLF VIEW VILLA REVIEW — 3 floors: As for the villa, we tried a 3 floor golf villa. It's quite massive and comfortable. The AC was strong. The master bedroom was massive, but the other 2 rooms were not large in size. I would highly not recommend placing 6 people in this villa. As for the villa bathrooms, every villa bathroom has a serious problem. The shower door is formed irregularly like half of a hexagon. Because of this, and no rubber on the door protecting water from leaking out, if the showerhead faces the slit, it will shoot through and into the bathroom. However, the general manager did alert us that they are going to be updating the showers! So, if you're reading this review, you're likely to be lucky enough to have the updated rooms in which the bathrooms will be fixed, there will be a safe in each room, and more.

Perfect nothing to say a very nice place.

Fabulous holiday, I liked it a lot: 1) The great transport from — to the hotel though charged.
2) wonderful private rooms with own swimming pool and sauna.
3. Wonderful setting up of the villas.
The CDs with instrumental music that we listened to on the Bose system (so relaxing).
Room service is great (we ordered things like breakfast — eggs and sausages) and they prepared a wonderful assortment with different kinds of bread accompaniments/toast/Various kinds of jams, etc…)
5) Fantastic breakfast buffet 6) Excellent Wellness Center 7) Perfect beach with personalized service regarding the setting of towels/umbrellas and multiple tastings of free cocktails throughout the day.
All restaurants served great food.
We visited the adjoining. It was Rosewood Resort… even their restaurant is great…
9) Not sure if I would even recommend venturing out of this resort.

Excellent place I would say the best my stay was unforgettable I recommend greetings.

It is a different place to the concept of the hotels in Cancun, the architecture is more cozy and the spaces more personalized as well as the villas, very private with an incredible view to the sea.

Of the countless times we have been to Cancun and Playa, this hands down is the best place we have stayed. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s not all inclusive but that makes it even better. If you want to go into Playa and eat or shop, it’s a 10 minute drive. No need to go to Playa though. All you need to relax and indulge is on the property. We highly recommend the night time boat ride/private dinner.

What can I possibly saw? Any photos you have ever seen doesn't do it justice. It's a true 5 star resort. Service. Quality. Hospitality. You can't lose here. Except be warned if you pay $400 per night for your room, expect that you'll probably pay at least that much for food and drinks every single night.

This place was unbelievable. The entire resort was just beautiful. We stayed in the Serenity bliss villa and were just blown away. The private pool and hot tub were fantastic. The service we received was every bit of 5 stars! From the moment we arrived until the second we left, my wife and I felt like royalty the way we were treated. Carlos at the pool restaurant, Edwin at the pool bar, Mauricio our host, and Arturo who drove us around everywhere made our stay so enjoyable.

Best service, food was amazing and the experience overall was top-notch. Highly recommend it!

Dear Mr. Hechler, My family and I recently stayed at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba and your hotel and staff exceeded our expectations in every possible way! It all started with a warm and courteous driver at the sometimes chaotic Cancun airport. The car was spotless and the driver was knowledgeable and catered to all of our needs. As we entered the gates of the property the security team checked us in and gave us peace of mind that our personal safety should not be a concern during our stay. Upon our arrival at the main reception area we were greeted by several members of your staff. Our check-in was quick and easy, and we were soon escorted to a boat that traveled across the scenic waters to our villa. Our baggage was already in our villa upon our arrival and we were treated to fruit and a refreshing drink. Needless to say, the “hard part” of our trip could not have been easier or more pleasant! The property itself is beautiful. The property was masterfully planned and allowed for the natural beauty of the water ways to complement each and every villa. The architecture of the main buildings is unique and the spacious villas are perfect for my family of four. Our villa was well appointed, clean, and exactly what we were hoping for! Our dining experience was exceeded at every meal. The breakfast was spectacular and the combination of authentic and traditional foods gave of plenty of choices.

Com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around… Banyan Tree is an excellent luxury resort that I cannot recommend enough! The villas are incredible and very spacious, with private pools that you never want to leave! The service is also impeccable without feeling overly fussy. The resort is quite large, but it's easy to navigate around on the provided bikes, or just call a golf cart to take you around.

5 star everything! Upscale food, upscale spa, upscale service… the hotel offers private villas with swimming pool. You can walk throughout the property, bike (each villa is provided two bicycles) or call the reception for a golf cart ride… between the lobby and the beach there is a boat service also… what a beautiful landscape Banyan tree is built on top of a natural reserve… the only thing the hotel didn't offer was nightlife or entertainment… they did have a managers night on the lobby bar… and they also provide the guest with complimentary use of a Cadillac Escalade… I didn't use that service so I don't know the limitation on mileage… I loved this place and can't wait to go back.

I went there to start my honeymoon and it was the best decision I ever made. The hotel is perfect on every aspect. The rooms (or villas) are very big with own pool and are arranged in a way that no one bothers you or knows you are there. All of their restaurants serve excellent food and the staff is super helpful. Without a doubt you must go there.

From the moment we pulled off the narrow jungle road and up to the glittering reception area, the attentive, well-coordinated staff made our stay comfortable and fun. We had reserved the Ixchel dinner and arriving from the airport we had very little time to spare. The receptionist and porters at the entrance knew about this reservation and made us feel welcome and relaxed even as they efficiently walked us through an expedited checkin process. We had second thoughts about having chosen the Mexican rather than Thai menu for the Ixchel, but there was no reason for worry; the food was splendid and the boat ride was very romantic. Our pool villa was beautiful and well-maintained. In mid-February it would have been nice to have a heated pool like the sanctuary villas, but the afternoons were warm enough to make even our unheated pool enjoyable. The breakfast buffet at Oriente was the best I've ever seen. It had great variety and everything was very fresh and beautifully presented. It was always easy to get attention from random staff members around the resort; they were happy and able to solve whatever minor problem I had (needed directions, needed a bike, needed a golf cart ride). They remembered me later and my situation later and were ready to offer further assistance. When passing by on paths in the evening, golf cart drivers would pull over and turn off their lights (of course). The grounds are quiet and uncrowded. There were other guests around, but not too many.

Very well everything in this hotel, the attention is excellent and the facilities perfect. It is best to go by boat from the lobby to the beach. The facilities at the beach club are very good also. It seems to Me that the price of the food should not be so high and that the room should include at no cost more complimentary food water, coffee/tea and fruit, although the high price of the hosting itself is justified. I had a couple of problems in my villa: the air conditioning does not obey the settings; the magnifying mirror in the dressing room was broken; once it blocked the toilet; once the golf cart is not waited us even though it doesn't take us both out. All requests were attended to with promptness and efficiency.

I have worked in several weddings and events with Banyan Tree Mayakoba and it is trully my favorite place to work in the Riviera Maya. Here you can find a natural ambience combined with the privacy most of the brides can only dream for. The customer service is top notch and there are several venues inside the hotel that will blow your mind! It´s the perfect place for an original, private and creative wedding. The fact that is an european plan based hotel gives the brides freedom to personalize even more their wedding.

Had my wedding here. It was our third time to the resort. I absolutely loved my experience. You don't know true "customer service" until you've been to a hotel run by Thai management A taste of Thailand, with the convenience of a short trip to Mexico. I have to tell you that this place blew me away — utterly perfect. Worth every penny.

Exceptionally well run establishment in Playa del Carmen. Complete service without any of the snobby feel. All massage treatments are in individua units equipped with their own shower and a view over the jungle. They BOAT you to the restaurants because everything there is it's own individual island.

Stunning hotel in a beautiful place! There is Free Wi-Fi and very tasty food.
