We were there yesterday (10/2017), the staff is super friendly and helps in any case. Free breakfast an chillout area and kitchen to use. It is clean and absolutely satisfying. We can absolutely recommend to stay there.

This hostel is awesome! The price is great, location may not be the most appealing but just a short walk til you’re at the center. Feel very safe, the rooms are nice and there is air con in the rooms as well that be used from 9-9. By far my favorite breakfast out of all five hostels I’ve stayed at all over Mexico. Jorge the manager is incredible. The nicest guy, he’s given us wonderful recommendations and he really cares about keeping this place safe and maintaining the good vibes. Beautiful rooftop terrace, nice kitchen. Definitely recommend this hostel.

It was the first time I was staying at a hostel and I loved it. It is clean, the staff is very friendly, close to the airport, breakfast at ease, the terrace is nice. Highly recommended.

Downtown Hostel is the best place to stay in Chetumal! Staff is verry friendly and helpful. The Terrace is just amazing. You can relax in hamacs! There is a chilling spot with Netflix as well and the free breakfast is the best I had so far! You can make fresh juice… cook eggs and everything taste fresh and delicious. I highly reccomanded!

We paid for the deluxe room. You could hear everything outside the door, and there was no hot water. Breakfast wasn't ready at 8 am, so we had to leave without breakfast as we had to get a bus.

Relaxed place with positive vibes. Very clean, quiet, fast Wi-Fi. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A short walk from promenade and great local restaurant Taco Loco.

Staff is friendly and the location is good. Not a bad value for the price, but the walls are thin. We were stuck under the rooftop bar, so we heard music and partying all night. Also, the shower was only scorching hot — tried several different settings but to no avail. Good for a night, but glad we weren't there longer.

Amazing Hostel with super friendly owner and staff! Arrived on Christmas Eve and the staff threw a Christmas party on the rooftop terrace with BBQ Mexican food and free beers to all the guests. Also got to try virtual reality goggles and watch the fireworks all around Chetumal. Met loads of nice travellers during the party and the morning after the staff delivered breakfast to bed. I also got help booking ferry tickets onwards to Caye Caulker in Belize! All in all a hostel with great atmosphere, friendly staff and good rooms. Excellent Wi-Fi that is reachable in all parts of the building and on the terrace!

The staff were exceptionally helpful, good location to the ferry if traveling on to Belize. Hostel was basic, A/C in room worked well, free breakfast was a bonus! The ferry to Belize was cancelled the day I arrived and staff recommended the bus to Belize City, with connecting ferry to the islands as it was cheaper. The company was Marlin Espadas who were not very professional (first bus broke down, second bus ran into parked car) and ended up taking a whole day of traveling to save a few dollars. In my opinion, it would have been more worthwhile waiting for the next ferry.

Very good Hostel. Very clean rooms with air conditioning. Full breakfast with natural juice! Super friendly staff! I definitely recommend the Downtown Hostel!
