Royal Sands was AMAZING! Our family felt at home and loved our stay! Staff and restaurants on the resort were perfect❤️ If you are going out to Porfirio’s Restaurant I would not recommend this place. Food did not taste well, expected a lot better! A few of us were sick that night. Would NOT recommend. The waiters Forcefully up sell making the experience uncomfortable. Added desserts to our order we didn’t request. Forgot some items I ordered and asked if I wanted them when I asked them where it was. Check your bill before you leave. Charged $42 in water they kept pouring in our water glasses before we even sat down.

Everything there is fantastic, the stay wonderful. There is nothing wrong, its staff of the best, a place where it provokes to return. I just say see you soon! CONGRATULATIONS!

Terrible service, they do not help you in almost anything and the security of there does not work, they are people without desire to work and a somewhat lousy treatment.

The beautiful beach with amazing waves and the friendly staff at the Royal Resorts brings us back almost every year! Love the fresh ceviche and fish tacos on the beach and the view from our beachfront villa at the Sands and the turtles laying eggs at night with the loving staff protecting them! It’s almost a family feeling and so much relaxed on the phase 2 side of the Sands — close to all high end shopping like Hermes and Cartier on one side and the Ritz Carlton on the other end and opposite Taboo and Helios high end restaurants! Our kids grew up attending T-shirt making and porcelain making classes and graduated to scuba diving and cocktails here! Love the Sands and the Grand Residencies! Our home away from home!

Definitely one thing that bothers me every visit is the saving of chairs. Towels on seats when it is barely light. Several occasions where no one visited the saved seats the entire day. Done venting.

We have been coming to the Royal Sands for years! We love this resort & all the of The Royal resorts! The people are so friendly & helpful! The Concierge Beto is the best! We have known him for years & every year we come back he greets us with a big smile & says what can I do for you? He has helped us so much we can't count them all! Thank you Beto! Quinn the sales person has helped us so much in the last few years as well! He is a great person to talk with if you need any info on the resorts or help while you are their! Thank you Quinn for all your help! We love the sports bar. The waiters & waitress are great! The pools & beach are amazing! You will love this place! Thank you to all the staff at The Royal Sands! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Everything perfect except for a receptionist who is at the first entrance all overbearing and unhelpful I do not know the name but if I report it.

Can’t wait to go back. Everyone was so nice and the facility was extremely clean. All day the staff was sanitizing the hand rails, the door handles, the lounge chairs. Fun and safe environment!

Great food great service Miguel the concierge is very helpful Alejandra the front desk manager is also very accommodating all the staff waiters housekeeping and bartenders everybody's very accommodating and very friendly the food is delicious and all the restaurants and the buffet good quality compared to other hotels I will definitely come back to this Resort again great experience I rate it a five-star.

My family of 5 stayed at this resort August 4-10. I cannot begin to express how wonderful this place is. The staff is great! Every single person so helpful and so eager to do what they need to make things perfect. Our room was kept so clean thanks to Modesta! The attention to detail is on point. Spotless, great food, beautiful place and most importantly the people that work here are amazing. Bring money to tip them. You do not have to but they certainly deserve it and appreciate it! Well done Royal Sands!

Wonderful option of hotel in Cancun with bedrooms and Villa stay if you want. It counts with a all inclusive package if you like. All the staff is really kind and they are always finding they way to help you. It is also really centric to everything in Cancun you can have great food options within walking distance. The spa is wonderful ask for Maria.

Spent a week here with my family and had an excellent time. Had all inclusive package and was well worth it, lots of good food. Lots of great restaurant choices. The service was great, everyone was very helpful. Staff resolved issues quickly. Nice outdoor pools, the beach was clean. Easy access to two local malls. Highly recommend this resort.

The Royal Sands is the place to be in Cancun! This is a family resort, but they have every inch of the resort and experience figured out and planned. The food is delicious, the amenities are super clean. Great views of the lagoon at sunset and the beach for sunrise! You can’t go wrong here. Their great thing is your room key and/or all inclusive works at all of their other resorts and restaurants. They also have a shuttle to take you to their other resorts. The spa is also outstanding. We have been coming here for over 15 years and have loved it every time.

This resort is amazing! We felt welcome from the moment we walked into the lobby. The room is great, the staff is amazing, and the resort is a true all-inclusive paradise! The staff at the restaurants have been great! The bartenders at the pool bar and Char Hut are amazing, especially Gabriel, Mario, Jose, and Raul. Our housekeeper Mayra always did a wonderful job. We have no complaints and I wish we could remember the name of every single staff member who has helped us. If you come, please bring plenty of dollars to tip these wonderful staff members. They don't expect to be tipped, but they work extra hard and they all deserve whatever extra you can offer. Each of the pools are amazing; the smaller pools are of course the most quiet, but they all offer amazing views. A true paradise!

We love this resort! Been there twice and plan on going back. Rooms are awesome and they all are beach front rooms! We took our kids this time along with another couple and their kids and we never worried about them walking around the resort. Employees were always on the look out and always there to help us in anyway. Service was amazing, never let us go without a drink or food. I recommend this resort very kid friendly. We had a blast!

Do not stay here. Everything smells here. They made us move rooms and there was a wooden lock on th toilet so we couldn’t use it until someone came to take it off. They are more interested in signing you up for excursions when it works for them and their time share presentations than when it works best for you and the weather. We have asked for the mini fridge to be filled 3 times so far and have yet to see it happen. Then they told us they can’t fill it until 2pm. What?!?! We paid to have it filled. So there is literally nothing in it. And not because we drank it all, because it was never filled in the first place. Again… don’t stay here. Luckily the staff is very friendly. That’s worth the 1 star.

Really beautiful resort, everyone is friendly and pleasant. The rooms are cleaned daily. The pools are clean and the grounds well maintained. There are plenty of food selection. The only complaint is the alcoholic drinks are watered down. You need to ask for an extra shot just to get the taste of alcohol.

A great resort. Beautiful view of the ocean. Our all inclusive package has included some wonderful restaurants. Very clean. Great spacious balcony. AC is a bit loud. Rooms are spacious. Several pools to choose from and all are beautiful. Swim up bar. Plenty of activities for the entire family. The spa was first class and my massage by Samantha was the best I've ever had in my life.

Good hotel, nice staff, very clean, perfect place, one con, food in La Veranda very repetitive. Almost the same dishes every day. Bars at the pools closed too early, Hotel and staff, top ten ; night entertainment, none. Nice and clean rooms. Very elegant.

They have to improve the concierge's attention, improve the food of the buffets and make more accessible plans according to the exchange rate for nationals.

Nice broad I like the villas are spacious and have good finishes, the pool of the best in its type and the atmosphere very pleasant, only that should include things like everything included more economic (thought in Mexicans) or some special promotions for members.

It is a beautiful place where you enjoy the sunrise watching the blue sea. And the sound of the sea until nightfall reflecting the moon in it. You tan. Exercise… it is a family atmosphere and very relaxing.

Big clean rooms. The pool is huge. There is also a second pool with a total of 3 swim up bars. The waves are a incredible on that end of the beach for body surfing. The food is excellent and if you get the all-inclusive package you're allowed to use the other Resorts and Facilities also which is great.

My family spent a week here, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The Royal Sands is a nice property, well maintained, and right on a beautiful beach! The water is absolutely amazing. The pool area is large and very nicely done as well. The buffet breakfast is very satisfying and contains lots of amazing options. I would definitely return!

First class Hotel, elegant and with administrative staff prepared! What I do not like is that it is too much the people who come to that hotel, I think they left the pool girl for the amount of people arriving!

Location is central, close to a great selection of restaurants (seafood, steakhouses, wine bars) and has a traditional Mexican hacienda sisal (traditional Mexican cuisine) right next to the resort. Suites/villas are spacious and clean and most of the staff are warm and friendly. Their spa is excellent and offers a variety of services that cater to all skin types and they are really accommodating. The gym is also pretty decent, has all the equipment and machines you need. The gym and spa facilities are not free for non-members but reasonably priced at 13 usd per day. Overall, would recommend any of the Royal Resorts locations to anyone visiting Cancun for the best type of experience in a great location along the main hotel strip.

Beautiful establishment with beautiful pools and a beautiful view of the ocean. The amount of customer all inclusive ruins the experience, diminishes the quality of the food and the quality of the service.

I'm giving the place a 5 stars first for the cleanliness, every where you go to the resort is spotless, the staff is very professional and super friendly this place is perfect for family and for young couples (like us) visiting for first time yo Cancun. We got the all inclusive 1 week package and it was the right decision. I was impressed with "the concierge" on top of having a regular concierge service you also will have your own concierge who will help you save some money booking activities and dinner reservation in other sister royal resorts (all meals are included in all Royal resorts if you have the all inclusive plan) one more thing to add is that the food in the resort is very good quality especially at the buffer area facing one of the pools, the pools are super clean and spacious. FYI: there's no snorkeling in this resort the ocean is often ruff but you can still enjoy a swim in the blue ocean and sky.

The beach is very good here… The service is also very good… but the food is quite bad, both in restaurant and on the beach and, unless you love to spend your holidays listening to the noise of the gringos playing chair, bingo or dancing macarena, I do not recommend it.

A good hotel, most guests are partners who have bought timeshares. Nice pool and beach. The bars are only open until 23:00hs and there are no evening shows as if they have other hotels. Good location. For that price you can find higher class hotels.

This has to be the best priced luxury hotel in Cancun. Food was great with plenty to choose from. The hotel staff are a real credit to the business. Location is great as it is literally on the beach and is far enough away from bars around Coco Bongos area to have a bit of serenity too. The hotel gym is great for a hotel with a variation of proper commercial gym equipment. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

Very good but the best thing is that you can go to the other hotels of the chain in Cancun then you go to different beaches and restaurants and you are not enslaved in one place and all x the same price!

Very friendly staff and customer service was top notch. Overall the resort is very nice and well maintained. Nearly half of the rooms have been renovated, with the rest to be complete in the next year or so. Just a heads up if you do an all inclusive option, you may have to change rooms during your stay, as it is a major timeshare facility that runs sat to sat… kind of a pain to pack everything up to leave with the bellboys while the new room is being cleaned. Overall though, it is a very nice resort, with large pools (heated in the "winter" months), and good food at the restaurants. Also, room service is a life saver for the kids to get pizza, chicken strips, or pizza when they're tied from swimming in the huge waves of the ocean!

Really loved the room and the view, the one bedroom suite was perfect for a family. The food was great and the service too. There are two pool areas, one of which is a bit more family friendly and quiet. The kids pool is quite big! The restaurants in the area are really good, we took a shuttle (provided by the resort) to get to them. Would definitely come back!

It is the most wonderful place to stay in the hotel area. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel's restaurant is delicious, the buffet is delicious and at an excellent cost (one of the cheapest places to eat in Cancun).

Good quality resort, at convenient rates. Check-in is always on Saturday, same as check-out. You have to rent a room for an entire week, or two weeks, etc. The hotel is all-inclusive, but you have the option of accommodation only. We rented an apartment that sleeps four people with two bedrooms, and a living room for 1500 USD per week, accommodation only. The rooms are spacious, clean and functional. Some have very nice balconies. There is a large heated pool adjacent to the ocean, so you can swim in both. The pool is fairly crowded, but there is enough space. There are two bars in the pool, on opposite sides. Margaritas are about $6.50. Rooms that have pools view also have a beautiful ocean view. The rest of the rooms have a Bay view, also very nice. I was impressed at the quality of the staff. They speak good English, they're professional, friendly, and willing to help. I came with low expectations to Cancun. I'm happy I found this resort that exceeded them. I would definitely recommend.

The Royal Sands Resort in Cancun was amazing! It’s a beautiful resort and the staff is amazing! They work really hard to make everything look immaculate! We loved the beach, the pool, the swim up bar was awesome and the food was delcious. Our room was gorgeous and spotless! We had such a beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony and outside of our room we had a beautiful view of the resort and pool area. I would highly recommend this resort! We had a blast and hope to return in the future!

Centered in the hotel zone, the Royal Sands is conveniently situated for safe, tourist friendly nightlife and right on the ocean. The rooms are clean, spacious, and nicely arranged for a longer stay. I love the kitchenette in the suite! We cooked breakfast in almost every day, and even dinner a few nights. Of course, having drinks and burgers brought to you on the beach is a real treat, and the casual dining options at the Char Hut are an advantage. The other restaurants in the hotel are also good, and I have not been disappointed by any of the food. Indeed, Hacienda Sisal is a very nice place to have dinner out. I would recommend it to anyone, not just those staying at the Sands. Overall, this is one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at, and I am so happy to return every year.

Beautiful place and great staff thats family oriented which brings people back over and over again. Food is fabulous and of wide variety of things to try. Stir fry, Big burgers, Nachos, Fajitas, Pizza, salad, fruit, etc. We got all inclusive so we only tip our bartenders (we keep one at each are for every night), room service, and waiters. Spa and fitness area in nice as well. Only thing I dont like is I have to call room service for water, beer, or sodas. They wont give us can sodas to drink later at pool or at night. Starbucks and grocery store if u want to cook or snack in your room.

It was my first time staying at an all-inclusive and I was not disappointed. From the second you step out of the shuttle the wonderful staff at The Royal Sands is there to help you with a smile! The food was amazing I was surprised that when we went to breakfast on day two our server from the day before remembered our names and made it a point to stop by our table and say “hi”. The rooms were cool, comfortable, and spacious. The pools were very nice and there were plenty of lounge chairs to go around. The beach was also well kept with lounge chairs and wait staff offering food and drinks on the beach. Usually when I travel I try to stay at different places every time to have a different experience but The Royal Sands was second to none and I will most definitely be staying there again the next time I am in Cancun!

Very pleased with my experience here. The food at all the included restaurants were amazing and I always left full. I had such a great time in this clean and well maintained hotel. No one bad thing to say!

Our stay at the Royal Sands was super. The maid service was great they were all on top of there game. The La Veranda was excellent the entire staff was very good and polite. Especially Fern our waiter excellent! Five stars alone. Don't ever let that guy go anywhere. We can't wait to come back again in the future. Thank you for great vacation and memories.

First night out to dinner had Rafael as a server and had a fantastic night, he was great at explaining everything, was very energetic and made sure we had a good time. The next day at the spa we had one of the best massages either my wife or I have ever had. The rooms are extremely well maintained, the grounds are clean, hotel staff keeps people peddling goods off of the hotel beach, the pool and hot tub are wonderful, wonderful experience all around!

Solid vacation spot. Food is amazing, so many options. Not a fan of pushing excursions and time shares when asking for help. Google has been most helpful for our style of travel so we don't have to do the package deals. Other than that I think the price is perfect for the high quality food and service.

Being a member I was beyond disappointed w the Sands Resort, its fails in comparison to any Royal Resort I have ever stayed at. I have come to realize that once u become a member of the Royal Resorts the amazing service disappears and you r left w being treated like trash. For example all of the members rooms are on the far north side of the complex no where near any of the activities that go on throughout the day, your are ushered through a small lobby near the back of the resort where u check in to a bunch of unfriendly faces who become frustrated when asked any questions … a far cry from the beautiful front lobby full of happy helpful faces that non members are presented with. Aside for this here are the major issues with this resort 1. Food — its horrible, buffet has cold food and options are very limited. Don't dare ask for a food that has run out bc the attitude given by the buffet service is unreal. (your only saving grace for food is the Hacienda Sisal, fantastic food and fantastic service we ended up eating here most of our trip because it was the only good option for all inclusive food) 2. All inclusive — is not worth it here, food restrictions at the buffet for dinner are ridiculous. You pay a large sum of money for all inclusive yet for most dinners u have to pay an additional charge for the meat they are serving.

Everything's good except food was better last time we visited. Were a bit lax when refilling our fridge with beverages. Beach and water is beautiful. Rooms are nice and clean. We were obligated to be part of a time share presentation as part of our deal and the presenters were a bit pushy. This was our third time to this resort and we have seen it change over the years. Not sure we'll come to Royal Sands if we do another all inclusive resort.

Third time here, but first time with the whole family. Loving it! This place is fantastic and great whether you're single, a couple, or a family. So many activities to do! The spa, pool, restaurants, bars, staff, and rooms are amazing! The grounds and rooms are immaculately kept! I highly recommend this resort and recommend taking advantage of the all inclusive option!

It is very family oriented. Most bars close at 7p. It is extremely quiet at 1030pm. Timeshare is HUGE. The first 15 minutes of checking into our room, we had a staff member try to book us a timeshare appointment. They will ask you to listen to a 90 minute presentation with an open mind. The timeshare salesman will not be happy if you walk in with no intention to buy. Staff is extremely friendly. This all inclusive resort promotes tips. We had to change our room on Saturday even though we didn't check out until Sunday. We stayed in 2 different rooms for our stay. There is a store located inside the resort.

All inclusive experience is a blast for adults. Room service included, helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and quiet. No entertainment or animation team to speak of (a plus for me but maybe a problem for someone vacationing with kids). The bigger rooms a nice and spacious, with a huge furnished balcony overlooking the ocean. One Mexican restaurant on premises, but there is a free shuttle to the other Royal hotels to dine there. The beach is really nice and spacious, you can always find a good spot. There are waves as soon as you come into the water, but you can swim once you get a bit further from the shore. Towel service is open till 10pm (! ). Did I mention very accommodating staff? They will keep the buffet open after designated hours if you come in late. Overall I am very impressed with this place.

"Welcome home" says it all. Every employee goes out of their way to accommodate every request. The friendliest! The rooms are clean and efficient. The grounds are spotless. And the beach is the best I've ever seen! I will be back!

Two big pools, tennis, spa, workout, sailing, yoga, dance lessons, kids program, great restaurants in walking distance, Facilities are a bit dated but updates are in progress. Great value. Would recommend to all.

Really beautiful resort. Super clean. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Especially Jose at the swim up bar! The buffet was decent and they switched it up a little from day to day in the morning and they have special themes every night for the dinner buffet. The food was good, nothing spectacular but good.

Staff was vey welcoming but our room was the opposite. Leaking from the ceiling and we were bitten by bugs. Not until we left did I realize it could be bed bugs. The food was ok, breakfast was by far the best. We had an all inclusive package and I have had better food at lower priced hotels in Cancun. There are only two main restaurants in the hotel and the others you have to make same day reservations with the chance of not making the shuttle due to space, so you either pay for a shuttle/take the bus or lose the reservation. The beach was beautiful. It is more of a family resort so if you are looking for a younger crowd this is not the place.

What a beautiful, tranquil and loving location. Everyone here is willing to speak about their experience here and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you are 100% satisfied with the service. If you come here meet Alejandro in the gift shop, he will make your day always and might even become a family friend.

The Royal sands is located in a beautiful area. The beach was clean, not busy. If not interested in the beach the pools are also clean and very well prepared. The staff are very friendly and the overall atmosphere, room is very clean. Would come back.

The hotel is awesome. My family got a suite and it was clean, and we had an amazing view of the gulf. My only compliant was our first dinner at La Veranda. The food was sub par and I would honestly say golden corals buffet is by far better and I hate golden coral. The next morning I went for breakfast and it was tasty with a wonderful selection. Lunch was also tasty. I reccomend you eat at hacienda sisal for dinner which is included with the inclusive package.

Rooms are average at best. Typical resort food if you want anything good costs you extra. Staff was great and helpful but overall over priced for what you get.

My and my friend went to Royal sands and it was amazing. The food was excellent, We loved the restaurant on the bay where you can see the alligator in the water. The staff was amazing-shout out to Antonio at the swim up bar. One thing we did not like with our all inclusive package was having our room key on us and handing it every time we got a drink or a towel and ate at a restaurant when we had a bracelet showing we were all inclusive. Very annoying. Your swimming in the pool and go to get a drink you need your room key. The beach was amazing the water was clear but very rough. Lost 2 pairs of sunglasses in the ocean. I would return back to Royal sands every year if I could. A lot of the guests that stay are in a time share and they are so nice. I do wish they had more activities to do on the property. We did however had a phone call every morning asking us to do a tour and to purchase timeshare which we ignored. The swim up bars closed early which was disappointing and did not open until 11AM.

Nice hotel. Unfortunately I was there when I enter a hurricane in 2007 and not really enjoy my stay.

Our room had an overwhelming musty odor and the sheets were stained in places. The room was definitely unsatisfactory. We would have complained but due to weather our flight was cancelled and we were only staying one night. Other than the room everything was satisfactory. The beach is beautiful and staff is helpful and polite. Drinks were good Food while being plain was actually pretty tasty. Overall decent experience but we would not come back.

Starting with the check in, the receptionists were very nice specially Marcelo, who checked us in, was very helpful and respectful. The place itself was amazing, the views, the beach, pool side, rooms, lobby, all were incredible! Special shout out to our concierge Nancy and our waiter and the pool bar Henry. They helped us a lot and made sure all our requests were addressed. Nancy guided us well for where we should go for tourism according to what we can handle and what would interest us the most. Henry was such a friendly person, he made us eat more food than we were planning on. The maids and room service was great too, every time we called for either one they showed us in time they mentioned. The food at the restaurants at Royal Sands Resort was better than the other restaurants we were able to visit. Overall everything was worth the money we spent. I would recommend anyone to definitely go to this place no matter if you are a couple or a person who's planning to take your family on vacation. This place is good for everyone!

The Royal Sands is worth your money. The grounds are beautiful as it sits on some baby blue Gulf of Mexico water. Definitely do the all inclusive package. All food and drinks included. Be sure to make reservations at all the various restaurants that are included in the package, they're well worth the time! I do wish there were more activities at the resort and things (outdoor bars) closed pretty early leaving you to go inside, which is not always desirable in paradise. Suites are very nice and offer a premier view of the water. Room service is included and very convenient!

Beautiful development for vacationers.

Although the service and facilities are top-notched, being a timeshare holder is only meant for rich people. I was convinced by a salesman to purchase a timeshare which I now regret. The customer service is better if you're white American. I've seen it with my own eyes. When it is time to pay for maintenance fees, you'd better have all the money as they will NOT give payment options. As I said, if you're not rich, stay away.
