So much to say, not enough time or space. The resort and location is beautiful. Great location if you are looking to be away from everything. There is no snorkeling from the resort. The rooms were gorgeous. The view is spectacular. The food is mediocre. Breakfast was hit or miss and usually have wait times for anything in the main buffet. The carts were quick to pick up. Staff was amazing. Pool was awesome. The beach is sandy and beautiful. Isla Mujeres is a quick ride from the location. Cozumel is approx 1.5 hours away.

This a very nice resort. They have minor issues like a shortage of employees. This is noticeable in the buffet where the canisters are empty. Two people working four service stations. It will get filled but be prepared to wait. Good luck getting a spot by the pool. The beach is the ugliest in all my destinations. It’s not their fault but if you like swimming in seaweed then this place is for you. They don’t rake it off the beach like 4 or 5 star resorts do.

Take it from a guy who has traveled to 10 countries. All inclusive? Not so fast. I'm here right now. The "all inclusive" only includes drinks and food, most drinks and food that is. Besides that, all massages are hundreds of dollars each, the "free" golf requires you to pay a mandatory $100 just for a golf cart fee and there are lots of other gotcha fees. Nice rooms but not all inclusive. Don't even get me started on how bad their desserts are. Walmart desserts taste better. Choose a different resort. Right when we arrived they wanted us to waste 90 min watching a seminar trying to sell us to come back again. We didn't go but they were pushy and overwhelming. The $200 resort "credits" can only be used for 3 different things (massage, wine and romantic dinner), but it's not enough money to actually pay for them. You still have to pay extra. Wouldn't go back. There are nicer places that are actually all inclusive and for much better rates.

Fun place to spend a week. The resort is well kept and the staff is friendly. The food is typical all inclusive resort food. If you expect a top notch steak then you should probably not go all inclusive. Stick with tacos and you will enjoy it.

My husband and I spent some time here for our honeymoon. This place is amazing and will literally make you feel like you're in paradise. The room was amazing every restaurant is great and you honestly get what you pay for! My husband and I were not disappointed. If you have the means to do Preferred Club I absolutely would. It was so worth it. From the room service that is 24/7 to the access to the restaurants, it is totally worth it! My husband and I stayed in the Presidential Suite! It was huge and absolutely beautiful! This is how I would decide what kind of room to get. 1. ) Discuss with whomever you're going with what you want to get out of the trip. If you are going to be on excursions and at the beach all day honestly, getting a cheaper room might be more financially better. 2. ) The Jacuzzi in the room is nice but there is a Jacuzzi literally right outside by the pool area. 3. ) Also, the ocean views are nice but just be mindful that while you may want to relax in your room or take a nap that there may be other people outside at the pool/listening to music dancing etc. My husband and I had an amazing time here! I would highly recommend this resort :) The staff were absolutely friendly! Every single person here :)

This place is very nice and very worth becoming a member of this resort. Out of a 10, I give them a 9. To be perfect as a 10, there can't be any flaws and everyplace has some kind of flaws. Ground is well kept/maintained by staff. Staff is friendly and it's almost always service with a smile. I highly recommend this resort chain to anyone who looking for a long term deal to become a member.

Great recommended place for people who want to enjoy an all-inclusive hotel the rooms are luxury as well as the restaurant, pool, beach, everything. The price is a little high but worth it.

The place is very nice and if you speak English you will have no problem at all, but if you do not go as the interesting as are the events presentations and so on will be in English their justification esq 90% of their guests are American, in particular is discrimination …

The staff here is phenomenal. "Sexy" Ross and Sophia from the entertainment staff are awesome. They have so much positive energy that makes you want to go and get involved in all the activities that go on during the days. 10/10 would definitely come back!

The beach of the best. Just watch out for motorbikes, kayaks and sailboats, which don't respect the space to swim.

Beautiful resort! All the staff are very friendly, high end liquor did not disappoint. Its very clean and neat resort. No excessive noise. The clubs in the resort are a great way to let loose. The food in all the restaurants was amazing. You will definitely gain weight while you are there!

First off, this is unlike anything we've done before. All inclusive 5 star resort. All drinks and food included. The service is excellent, anything you need. The employees really do go above and beyond to make sure you're having the best experience possible. There are 5 restaurants on site, and all are top notch. The dress code was a bit of a hassle, but that was more us and this being our first time. For the man, pretty much expect to wear long pants, closed shoes, and collared, usually long sleeve, for dinner plans. The location is good if you're looking to stay at the resort most of the time. If you're looking to do activities in Cancun, then expect to have to travel a little extra. This is a little out side the main hotel zone of cancun where everything is happening, but its nice in the fact that it's a bit more low key if that's what you're looking for. The rooms were awesome. We we're upgraded to a swim out room as it was our ten year anniversary. We got a mega king bid, I guess that's what you call it. It's pretty much 2 queens combined together. The place is fantastic.

If you're going to stay in Cancun, please stay here. When we arrived everything was absolutely fantastic. My wife got sick last night and we had to go to the hospital. Several members of the staff including the manager we're on the ball. We are back to our room and my wife is feeling better. I plan on writing a letter when I get home thanking Secrets for their care and assistance. We just got a call from the staff checking on us and asking what they can bring to help her. We can't thank them for enough for their urgency. Know that your visit will be everything you want it to be, but if you fall sick they jump to help in every way possible.

Secrets Playa Mujeres is an incredibly beautiful resort. Live entertainment is in the restaurants creating a lovely ambiance. The pool is vast with a swim up bar on hand. The beach is amazing. Sugar white sand with emerald green water. Paradise awaits anyone who stays here. The food has been very good. The entertainment is going on at all times. There is a sister resort Dreams right next door with an additional 10 restaurants and more bars. Be sure to check out the lazy river. Relax and enjoy!

Had a great time here. The pool was nice. The food was ok. Head phone DJ at night was really fun. The staff was really nice and helpful most of time. The place has no transportation to airport or airport pickup. You have to take a taxi or something else to get there. It is kind of far from fun places. When you want to go to see the scenery or have fun at Xparks, you waste lots of time on transportation. It should be 5 stars, but some employees made me feel like they are racist to Asians… which doesn’t make me feel good at all. Especially in Sushi bar, the waiter was rude to us, and we can literally feel he doesn’t have respect to his customers. Also, I never seen people (hotel staff) speaks so loud in a sushi place). At the last day in Secrets, I was trying to ask front desk if they can help me book a shuttle or taxi to airport, the front desk stuff told me to go to another table, when I went there, the staff told me I should go to the opposite table to ask for help, and the opposite table staff said they can’t help me… I hate when people pass the duck like this. I planed to rate a 3 star, but I remembered others’ good service at hotel worth a higher rate. Overall, it can be good place for you to go.

The rooms are very clean and nice. The food is unfortunately not very good. The staff are only superficially friendly, special requests are basically rejected and they pay attention like small policemen strictly to the observance of all rules — so you feel more like in the golden cage. There is also no shuttle to the city, so you are trapped here.

Had a great time here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good and drink it's available everywhere all the time. Rooms are clean and modern. And there are entertainment activities happening all day. Me and my wife had a blast during our stay.

It's the perfect resort course. Not very difficult, fairly wide open off most tees. Beautiful views and well maintained. Challenging enough from the tips for above — average golfers. Reasonably priced at $85 per round.

Like every other Secrets Resort I’ve been to, this one did not disappoint as well. Great staff, service, food and very clean, free Spanish classes! activities. Not to mention the views from my room, I had a master suite ocean front on the top floor and I’d say it was worth spending few extra bucks. I would definitely recommend using Secrets Resorts or any other of their branches offered by AMresorts to anyone who wants to really enjoy their vacation.

Great hotel. Clean, well kept grounds, fabulous service. I can honestly say everyone was so professional and so friendly. I would definitely return. We always do the PS and think it is worth the extra money. Nice beach. They do clean the beach every morning and they do a great job keeping sea weed off.

We had a great 6 days stay at Secret Playa Mujeres. Excellent service by the staff's and room service was amazing quick an easy. And our room was cleaned every day sometimes two times a day. Food was great, many restaurant to choose from only one I didn't like was the French Restaurant. We never got the chance to try out the Buffett for lunch (breakfast we did). Dream next door was great too. It's two resorts in one. Although we had a walk-in pool at our room we never used it, we did use the main pool every day was great time and weather. Everything was clean and on point. The beach was nice as well but we went only one day. We have no complain about this place, hopefully in near future we can visit again.

I didn't care for the lay-out. It was golf cart ride to rooms from front desk. A couple of the better resturants were also a golf cart ride away. Once we got to the building and floor it was a very very long walk to the room. The elevators worked some days and not others. Food was good and plentiful. Pools were nice. Beach was okay. It did have powdery sand but wasn't well appointed. I don't play golf so I cannot speak on it. The Spa was nothing extraordinary. They didn't offer sandals. After your massage you were not offered a robe. The weather was cold, windy and stormy during our stay with two exceptions. We had one pool day and the day we were leaving was beautiful. Overall I would not go back there.

Great place to vacation. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is great and the are plenty of options, from French and Italian, to sushi and hot dogs. The activities are great, whether it's tequila tasting or guacamole class, they are well put together and entertaining. We've been to 3 different secrets resorts and they are all excellent.

All in all not bad but they sell you the idea of ocean view when it is not. My room is a swim-out overlooking the sea and all I see is the pool and the view to me is about 2% of the view and if you are lucky. It's a tease. Better a high floor and forget about the swim-out. As far as the food is good and the drink too. But a lot of patience that things take and take a long time. The service is very friendly but it is neither fast nor even witty. We had a complaint regarding the lodging and the supposedly responsible person took 30 minutes to arrive and neither apologized. However, the Director general approached the next day to speak personally on the beach, which left me very happy. Don't miss the teppanyaki. And of course your delicious margaritas at any time of the day. Good Hotel, good food, nice rooms, slow service and the sea view is a fallacy. No one book swim out Ocean view.

Good, but not Great like other Secrets/Dreams resorts — although we would come back (we have been going to Secrets/Dreams one to three times a year for eight years). The rooms, beach and layout are great. The Wifi is good for email, poor for streaming. The 4g cell coverage is good to very good. We had room 1004 which included a private pool that faced the beach/ocean. We heard no construction, although there was a resort under construction just next door. The food is inconsistent, but acceptable. We found the Mexican, Italian, Japanese the best, but did not try the French. The customer service was friendly and mostly accommodating. However, at all other Secrets the customer service was outstanding (especially the way staff if you give them a decent tip at the beginning of the day — you'll want for nothing). There was pooling of water in the hallways after a brief rain. That was strange to see. The beach condition is outstanding and has two miles of open beach to walk if you don't want to walk through other resorts. Three points that took this from a potential 5 to a 3 star: 1. Our private pool was approaching hot tub temps. I called and they said maintenance would come look at it. They never came, so we didn't use our private pool. 2. General customer service — our mini bar wasn't stocked 3 of the 5 days, the wait service was a bit slow about half of the time, the general attentiveness wasn't at the level of the other many Secrets we've been to. 3.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. Very rich food, several specialty restaurants, small portions. The staff was very helpful and the staff were very friendly. As for drinks you have good quality liquors. The beach is spacious and very nice. The pools although not very large or extensive, you have everything to the
Hand.
Highly recommended place to enjoy with your partner.

Don't waste the money on the swim out. Didn't go anywhere. Room wise is perfect. Service is great! Resort is clean. Can't beat it for the price.

We had an ocean view room, however the room that was given to us was a partial. The room was also located just in front of construction/jackhammering. The ceiling fan wouldn’t go any faster than slow. We asked for a different room, which they were happy to do. The new room had an odor and wasn’t as clean. We kept the room because it did have a full ocean view. The jackhammering could still be heard, but they began covering up the sound with very loud music. There are many pool activities, and a lot of screaming and yelling. If you are looking for a peaceful resort, I wouldn’t say this is your place. We refused to pay for the upgraded package to the resort. I didn’t really know what all was included in that until today. We sat in a beach cabana, which then prompted someone to come over to make sure we were on the preferred list. We were not, and we were not to sit in the cabanas since we we not a preferred member. I didn’t notice this being a problem with anything else. The beach is well kept. Room service ran about 45 minutes. House keeping comes at any time of the day, and the doors don’t lock to where it keeps people out. So if you are napping, and you lock the door to where you think they can’t get in, think again. Everyone here is very nice. Incredibly so, in fact. They do push extras on you, as soon as you check in. They want to get you into a massage. They have a convenience store on site.

Wow! We will definitely be coming back to this resort in the future. When we arrived we were greeted with cold towels and champagne. From there we were taken to check in which was very simple. Our room was upgraded to one with a swim out pool which was absolutely amazing. The attention to detail is incredible… slippers, robes, sunblock, espresso machine. It is AMAZING here. No complaints on the food as of yet… it is day 3. We haven't had the chance to experience each restaurant yet however we have ate at the market cafe, the grill, and ordered room service and were pleased with all meals. The staff is unbelievably attentive, we went to the beach earlier today and set our items down on two loungers while we went to dio our feet in the ocean, when I looked back at our chairs and employee was bringing us towels. Earlier today we were in the lobby awaiting a ride to the city when a lady came and provided a fresh bottle of water when she noticed ours was near empty. It's unreal, you don't even have to ask and the staff is right there to assist you. Our room was thoroughly clean when We arrived and has been since as housekeeping returns daily. We love it here and don't think we will ever be ready to return home.

This place smelled so awful like old mold. Room was covered in ants. Even on the toilet all over coffee maker. Don't expect anything for the anniversary package you get 3 apples on a plate for your basket of fruit. The restaurants at dreams is the place to eat, one restaurant was decent on the secrets resort. Don't not stay longer then a couple of days because the hospitality runs out quick. DO NOT leave any personal articles out they will take anything not in safe & if you report something missing expect them to treat you like your nothing but a liar and will search your room with a gang of 3-4 gloved men going through all your personal articles of clothing and luggage ripping paintings off walls it was absolutely insane. For all the $$ you spend you think you would feel safe.

An amazing place to relax. We went on an anniversary trip, and it was perfect. Pretty quiet, chill. If you're looking for night life or a party atmosphere, keep looking. If you want a great relaxing place it's perfect.

Nice resort. Very friendly staff. Everyone is helpful. The pool is very large and nice. The food is great. Good selection of restaurants. My only recommendation is to have fun music playing by the pool throughout the day.

Firstly, and foremost I will start by saying that the staff here are stellar. They put on their best happy faces for their guests. They are never rude at least not on purpose. But to add to this, despite some having worked at this location since its opening, they are very difficult to converse with. They try, but unless you speak Spanish you are not going to hold lengthy conversations with them. The resort on first appearance is quite beautiful. It is a very unexpected Zen oasis on the tip of the Yucatan peninsula. The lobby is completely open – just a covered pavilion. We were greeted with cool, wet wash clothes handed to us with tongs and a glass of Champagne. Our bags were immediately tagged with our room number and as we were handed a receipt for them and were told we could expect them in our room after 4. We arrived sometime after noon. Once we checked in with the concierge we were advised on where we might like to have lunch. A golf cart escorted us to the rooms where 4 of the 7 restaurants were also attached. The room entered from an open hall and balconied facing a partial ocean view that had become recently blocked within the last 5 months by another resort the Alliance had built. Food and drink and service were abundant and for the most part very good. All a great show. We came for the relaxation of an all-inclusive resort and we did get that. The beach access in comparison to what the public could use was far better of course. The room and food was sufficient.

We had such a great experience with Secrets in Costa Rica on our honeymoon that when we decided to take another vacation we would hands down choose another Secrets resort. This was the second Secrets resort we've been to and we absolutely loved it. The service was incredible and the staff is soo friendly. The infinity pool is huge and has a swim-up bar. Since we were only here two full days we didn't do any excursions or beach activities, but watched and participated in the pool activities. The pool entertainers do a great job at getting guests involved in the activities. There are so many different food options, and each restaurant makes some of the best food I've ever had. There is also quite a bit to do at night including shows in the theater, a piano bar and a night club/late night bar with karaoke and a D. J. We did a room with a swim-out pool, but never used it because the main pool was so awesome. So I wouldn't recommend getting a non-ocean view swim-out pool room. I highly recommend this Secrets resort.

The food, the drinks, the service, the rooms… WOW! They are all about making sure you get enough and I'm talking top shelf in the liquor dept, 24hr room service no extra charge and a restocked mini fridge everyday (Hello)! I would go back any day. It took a little longer to get to this resort because it was a little isolated but it was newer than it's sister resort and the little perks here and there make you sit up and take notice. So super friendly here.

Great location with excellent food choices, try the hibachi grill if you go. It's also nice being able to use some the restaurants at the attached dreams. Good place for couples trying to get away and relax, I would not suggest it for younger people trying to party. Also, if the room rate seems really cheap it's probably because there is an active construction site right next door as of this time (May 2017). Avoid building number 3 if you prefer to not look at and hear a construction site.

Beautiful resort… leaving today, been here 5 days. We more than likely won't be back to this particular one. Although it's out by itself near the jungle area and the Nature is gorgeous / it's in a VERY windy area. The wind never stops and the water is often choppy so if your looking for a clear blue calm water / this isn't the one. The resort is large so service was lacking accept for a few excellent people we came across. The staff seems stressed and unhappy here. The staff took some pretty big tips to do some special things for us for a birthday and marriage proposal and then never did them. A week before the trip I called and emailed the wedding department several times to help with a marriage proposal and they never called me back and I have a feeling it was discrimination since it was same sex couple. So since we were on our own we scoped out the best spot in oceana Restauraunt — went early in the day and spoke with management — picked the perfect table and when we got there / we were told that we could not have the spot after all because "very VIP" people were coming so again… plan was ruined. They stuck us in a back corner with no view but we had them move us which they weren't happy about and seemed put out even though they were about to ruin a marriage proposal plan. There are no cabanas or hammocks to relax in on the grounds or the beach. If you don't get to the beach early you won't get an umbrella which was an issue for some with us that burn easily.

We just visited the resort earlier this month (April 2016) and had a great experience. From the start of the vacation with the arrival until the departure 5 days later we had excellent service. The room was nice and the view of the ocean was beautiful and was ready upon arrival. In the past, we have stayed at all inclusive resorts and have not had good luck with the quality of food. I was impressed with the quality of food and drinks at the resort. We ate at all of the restaurants and although we each had our favorite; neither of us had a bad meal. I would truly recommend this resort! Remember that when you go to take plenty of small bills for tipping. You tip at a restaurant when you go out for dinner when you are not on vacation so please remember to tip for good service while you are on vacation.

Excellent to go in pairs to pamper yourself.
