Excellent service, personalized attention.

Everything is beautiful in Hotel las Mariposas. Full of corners and beautiful details. But the attention of their hosts is priceless. Having the first coffee listening to stories of your voice, surrounded by a beautiful garden and the rumor of the Fountain, are part of my memories of that beautiful holiday. Thank you.

It's an amazing space I loved.

We stayed in this hotel and were very satisfied by the hospitality, and excellent service and warmth of its owners, apart from the hotel is enchanting, a very cozy place that I would definitely return to I highly recommend and collect your pot coffee with artisan bread.

A unique experience all excellent tried receptionists cleaning especially ECO FRIENDLY… it's perfect.

It is a good option to stay if you intend to visit the center of Oaxaca, a very colonial and quiet atmosphere, the cleanliness and treatment is nice and the staff who serve it is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Cozy place, nice and quiet in general. Ideal for long stays or a few days. If you are looking for a private space but also to meet new people, this is the place that has common areas where you can fraternise with other guests.

If you wish to stay in Oaxaca this is a site to consider seriemente. Very well located, not more than 10m. Of the center. Really quiet and very well taken care of. Filled with plants and flowers. A charming site and the attention has been unbeatable. A hotel Eco committed to 100%

Our stay here was amazing! Service: the staff here were very friendly, and helpful when deciding which tour to take. They assisted us with getting a taxi early in the morning allowing us to make it in time to our flight with less stress on our end. Location: From here we were able to reach multiple restaurants without having to take a taxi. Everything was within walking distance!

I've never seen a hotel like this! The team of Las Mariposas uses rainwater not only for the plants in the garden, but for washing the floor! They make "bricks" from plastic bottles, which will be used as building material for houses of poor families in Mexico! They collect milk packaging, which will be reused as insulation for the houses and support a lot of different projects! Incredible Teresa runs this hotel — she invested 35! years in it! There is so much work, energy and love in every detail. We stayed for 4 nights in a stidio apartment with a fully equipped kitchen — we felt very comfortable and homy. We enjoyed the beautiful garden and the peace and harmony of the place!

It has beautiful gardens and is very close to the Plaza de Santo Domingo, excellent choice to walk in the center of Oaxaca.

Simple but full of magic! Very clean, attended by its owners with great kindness and warmth, do not hesitate to stay in it!

It's a pleasant, simple, quiet, low-key hotel, in a convenient location, within walking distance of the museums, shops and restaurants in El Centro. Coffee and a baked good in the morning. Common tables where you can meet other travelers (and comfortable chairs where you can eat on your own). I was in an AirBnB on an earlier visit. I liked Mariposa more. I did wonder why, when I changed rooms, I was put in a low, dark room at a time when the hotel was practically empty. Guess I should have asked. Ask for a room on the second floor, not in the sunken courtyard.

Place destined for rest… Nice, quaint but no attractions… Get there in order to disconnect… The rooms are modest and encourage recycling, it's a green place.

On booking site it I chose “standard double room or twin room” and sent a private message asking for a twin room but there were no replies from the hotel. When I got here they led me to a double room. I asked if they had a twin room they got me a bigger twin room swiftly. The room is very spacious and cool with a very pretty view to the garden. Seems like this hotel is very eco-conscious which I find great. Despite all the great comments about the breakfast I haven’t got any chance to have breakfast here since the breakfast hour is sort of too short (8-9:30) and not ideal for not-so-early bird like me. The door to my room is squeaky and an old lady (I guess she’s the owner of this hotel since she is the one who lives in the apartment far inside the hotel) complained I was making noises! Why would she complain about one of HER squeaky doors to me instead of oiling it? Apart from the fussy old lady other staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Brilliant eco stay! Good location, spacious rooms, very eco friendly, good coffee and snacks in the morning, friendly hosts! Definitely a recommendation!

Clean. Nice attention. Close to everything.

The facilities are clean, with a homey touch with green areas and various fountains, plus you get coffee, milk and bread every morning. Good choice for people looking for a simple and cheap place. That yes for people who travel alone, if you go with company you have to book in advance because then there is no quota.

The staff are 100% attentive and provide a feeling of being welcomed into their home. The outdoor garden spaces, which are ample, are charming and peaceful. Noise has never been a problem there in spite of being only a block from El Parque Llano, which hosts live music for the Mezcal festival during the Guelaguetza. The hotel is an easy stroll from the heart of Oaxaca’s restaurants and tourist attractions. The positives by far outweigh negatives. If you are a persona who reads in bed, you might want one of those handy reading lights. You may also want to bring an extension cord or a multi — headed plug for your cell phone. In the big picture, these are small details. More than anything I could say, the popularity of Las Mariposas speaks the loudest. I think that you’ll enjoy your stay there.

It is a boutique hotel, the common spaces are comfortable and spacious. It includes a very basic breakfast (coffee and/or milk with bread). Rooms have no TV, no phone. It is close to the center and the ADO terminal.

Very good experience. The Eco friendly concept is very good. The Ambien is super quiet.

This hotel is a delight. The décor and ambience are extremely enjoyable. Your hosts are exceptionally friendly. They do not have restaurant service, but in the mornings they offer complimentary coffee and sweet bread to guests. Its location near the ex-convent of Santo Domingo and the tourist walker is excellent.

The place is amazing, its concepcto is unique, the cleanliness… All. Hotel staff, guest and vendors are outstanding. I have No more words to thank for the accommodation, the good treatment, the attentions they gave me and my friend. Mrs. Ma Teresa makes you feel welcome, like at home, as part of her family. I'm delighted with the place. I could give you 10 stars. Recommended 100%

Beautiful, cosy hotel in a nice, quiet part of town. Safe and hospitable.

Excellent choice of accommodation, spacious rooms, clean and very nice. Really rest in this place, is like getting to your house, super recommended if you want to visit Oaxaca, the hotel is super located 3 blocks from the temple of Santo Domingo. And the staff and especially the owners of the hotel is exceptional! I would go back a thousand times to this hotel.

Very helpful and friendly. Rooms seem very good value. Not expensive, but it certainly does not seem cheap at all. Set in a private sort of courtyard which means you feel safe and secluded, but not crammed in. Very clean and fresh.

Really nice! It's just like a retirement home, though! So if you're under the age of 70 you'll feel like a baby. You'll need a cane and reading glasses to fit in.

The room was really clean and nice. I loved coffee and Mexican bread for breakfast. At night, when everything was peace and quiet I saw some cockroaches in the garden, however, there was none inside the room.

Wonderful, friendly, economical, impeccably clean, 20 room B & B. With 2 beautiful inner courtyards. Well located. We, and many others, go every year. During winter you will be fortunate if they have space! 1.1 Km from the Zocalo (14 Min. )

Great place, great location, great people… Planned to stay 2 nights there and ended up staying 5! What else can I say? Totally recommend and will for sure stay there again when I'm back in Oaxaca!

Hotel Las Mariposas is very conveniently located near the Zocola. It has a nice homely environment and Ma Theresa is very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast could be better :-)

Besides the peaceful courtyards and sitting areas, and no TV in the room I had (a bonus where I'm concerned), the owners are very ecologically conscious. If you ask about their efforts they will be glad to show you! They serve excellent local coffee with a simple bread snd cereal breakfast, the hot water is good and hot, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. There are community refrigerators for people whose rooms don't have them, and anyone can use the kitchen area on the main patio. Also ask about their discount with local restaurants! The owners are also very kind — when I twisted my knee and it became inflamed they loaned me a cane, a knee brace and ice packs. They even let me take them with me to my homestay, no deposit on them, with the promise to return them.

A wonderful, relaxing setting, filled with little arts and crafts and tropical plants tucked away in random corners. Breakfasts were communal and fun where we shared talk of home and our favorite Oaxaca attractions. I only wish some of the smokers could have been persuaded to not have their late evening patio smoke, as it headed into our room, but in general a great place to stay and very convenient to downtown.

It is a good very quiet and very nice great place to enjoy either family or business…

Going to The Butterfly hotel in Oaxaca is an experience by it self. Every walkway, every room is magical and has a small story to tell. From Reading a book trough keeping and warming food you get from the Street, meeting someome interesting or even having a nap in a shadowy hammock, this place will allow you to do it while you recieve sti marvelous energy. From the beautiful hostess in the entrance to the warm owner, this place will make that Oaxaca stays in your heart. Without a question, the energy of this hotel will get trought your skin. I hope you can enjoy it as I did :) Go to the hotel las Mariposas in Oaxaca is a wonderful experience in itself. Every hallway, every room, every corner is magical and has a little story to tell you:read a book, hold food that you bought in the street, even to have a wonderful talk with someone you know there or sit back in a hammock in the shade, do it all while receiving the energy of the place. From the lovely receptionist to the owner, will make that Oaxaca is left in your heart. No doubt his energy is strained by your skin. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Excellent service and friendly, a pleasant experience, since it is a very quiet place to rest and apart is in a very central location, as well as by Mrs. Teresa hospitality and its rich and succulent coffee the best I've tried 100% recommended.!
