First time staying here! Great location, spacious rooms. I would stay again!

Great quiet little suite hotel just a block away from the beach, very close to some great dining in the romantic zone.

Great place to enjoy with family.

On the page it looks better than it is a very small narrow hotel the spaces the coffeemakers are lousy has no variety the buffet enters the water all over the rooms are very small and the shower is very uncomfortable the beach line is full of vendors.

This place is horrible a total sham! My mother went from July 2 2019 through July 9 2019. They covered up the ac so when my mom tried to turn it on nothing was coming out. My mom booked a room that was priced for 2 guests and capacity for 2 guests, the receptionist, Samantha was very rude to my mother and tried to tell her that my uncle could not stay because he was not on the reservation although the price she paid, the capacity was for 2 and it stated that on her receipt. Finally my mom called me I had to call the hotel from the US and speak to the manager, Eulid who was telling me a bunch of lies. They wouldn’t even let my mother’s other brother help her with her luggage! I have never stayed at a place where they “forbid” me to have a visitor (so long as they don’t stay if my room is at capacity). Needless to say out of the 7 days my mom only stayed 3, she and my other uncle from the US stayed with their brother who lives in a nearby town due to the horrible treatment and service! I will be reporting to the USA embassy department of tourists affairs because I don’t want any USA money to go to waste there, or anyone’s money at that! Stay away from this terrible place!

Best hotel I've been to so far. The view looks amazing in most likely, all the rooms. Although I found a bedbug in one of my rooms, the problem was quickly fixed. If you come stressed, they have massage therapy. And food is always nearby (you do have to pay). The beach is amazing and full of people and fun. It is really warm here, but you do have air conditioning. The staff are also kind. The only real problem I had was some jerks smoking next to my room and causing a raucous, and it took the staff about an hour to fix the problem. The pool always closes at around 10 PM. There are plenty of stores everywhere in the city too. Best place ever in general.

This hotel is in the heart of the romantic zone in down town Vallarta it's a more of a locals resort but it's very clean and accommodating the food is good they offer happy hour for every day from 1-4 they have a private beach. Best part everything is within walking distance of everything you can also Uber around.

Its a nice place to bring your family, relatives and friends. They are very friendly and very accommodating to all your needs. I would love to stay here again. The food is good and the staff are so attentive. If you are looking to relax then get the all inclusive so you dont need to think about what to eat after taking a dip in the pool or beach. But if you are a foodie, then you dont need to get the all inclusive — there’s always a taco stand or restaurant close nearby.

This was a beautiful resort with beautiful views, the all-inclusive plan is a must. Is only a limited amount of alcohol offered, but there's something in every genre for you to try. Food was average. A lot of locals use this hotel as well. It is fairly far into the state, so you are not near any touristy type areas, other than the boardwalk.

I stayed here for a week and I loved the hotel and the staff. My housekeeper was a sweetie. The hotel itself is older, but very charming. They were doing a bit of construction during my visit. I’m sure some would find this annoying, but I’m sure that it needs them — it is older. The hotel is in an amazing location. It’s close to everything in PV. Lots of great restaurants, attractions and spas for a relaxing massage. I had no issues w the staff or the hotel. Awesome pool area, comfy beds, nice soaps and shampoos. I would recommend to the hotel they put out coffee in the mornings. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel though.

Great location and very clean. Rooms were not exactly as portraid, they are a bit outdated and in some disarray, but that being said, they are very clean. Very cold A/C which is a huge plus. Overall, great, affordable place to stay. The common areas are pretty nice and it's central location is great. Pool area is great, service was good, we had a great time here.

The rooms were really cute authentic Mexican style. I loved the fact that checking into one hotel meant you had access to all three sister hotels including the one beach front with the infinity pool and bar. Would definitely book again.

Location! Location! Location! Great experience. We were fortunate that we stayed in this hotel for 4 days. Great location, clean, very friendly staff. It is not a new hotel but the facilities are very well maintened, rooms are quite big and every single person that works for the hotel will go out of their way to help and support you to make sure you have a great stay. The staff know their purpose, it seems they dont work for a hotel, they are proud to work for Playa Los Arcos Hotel. I talked to many different t staff and most of them are long timers, 10-18 years being part of the hotel, that tells you that they are happy and you can tell in the level of service they provide. Food was also another thing that caught my attention, great food. On Saturday night, they have a Mexican folklore night show that it's a must. This is the first out of many stays in Puerto Vallarta.

The service is great, not a huge luxury resort but family oriented. The pool and rooms are very clean. Wi-Fi included with stay and right on the beach front!

Stayed here in late April. The location was absolutely wonderful, right in the Zona Romantico and by the beach. The pool was large. Free Wi-Fi! Awesome service, all the staff were very helpful and bilingual (not that it was a problem for us). The front desk was fast and easy. Maid treated us very well. I loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I'm taking away a star because the beds were uncomfortable and it was hard to sleep, and the buffet food wasn't very good.

The service is amazing! Very well catered and kindly. Large rooms with very nice exterior view. Unfortunately the food is not of very good taste, the firm somewhat poor and some foods appear to be of low quality.

Lovely pool. Old hotel with some rooms updated. Mine was not. Friendly staff. Great if in PV and need a bargain in the heart of the Romantic Zone. Beachfront hotel with beach bar a d restaurant service. Short walk to lots of restaurants, galleries and shopping.

Magnificent place. I spent 6 days and all was excellent attention, the perfect pools just two steps from the beach. The great spacious room with sea view my kids were delighted, the restaurants lots of food variety. The breakfast is deliciously decorated by the trumpeter, it is very comfortable and not expensive. I will definitely go back and recommend it very widely. Thanks for the attention.

A good place to have breakfast or eat. They have a great variety of products, and the attention is very good. The waiters are very attentive and helpful and the prices are within the range I was wearing. Although it took a while to bring the food, it is understood because of the large amount of people in the restaurant. They have good music to accompany as it was live.

It is an excellent place in the romantic area of Vallarta, the rooms are comfortable, the facilities are always very clean, but the best is certainly the food, I really have no comparison, really if you want to enjoy a beautiful place, atmosphere and food has To come here.

The hotel is nice. However there are some disappointments. The rooms are very small. Also while we were there. There was construction it was extremely loud. The biggest disappointment was the service. The restaurant servers and the servers for the beach were very bad. They would never come around to take your order. And if you could manage to flag someone down to order. Sometimes you wouldn't get your order. They also were not friendly and didn't smile. I was at the restaurant and it took 15 minutes before someone asked if we wanted anything. And actually he said what do you want. Didn't smile and seemed annoyed we were there. The service was just plain bad. I might note that the service at the desk was always good the hot tub was normally cold. The pool towels were very nasty. Just dirty looking and ripped. Looked like shop towels. The TV did not work in the room. The location of the hotel was good. But just a lot if street noise. Over all it's a ok place to stay. Just some things need worked on.

Of the most traditional hotels in Puerto Vallarta! First-class facilities, very well-conditioned rooms and super well-maintained common areas. The prices are up to the level of what they offer and the service… They are all very friendly and willing to help you. I loved staying here!

My husband and I had s very nice dinner with a gorgeous sunset view. The food was very good as we're the drinks. Our service was on point as well. We will definitely go back again.

Rooms are small but clean. Service staff is pretty decent. Make sure you are getting all-inclusive if you want it because it is not standard — neither is the breakfast. Security makes you feel safe but reminder that you cannot bring any guests back to the hotel. Some rooms don't have windows that open, but the air conditioning works well.

The hotel is charming and clean. Staff is very accommodating and most seem interested in guest's enjoyment. The beach is gorgeous, many chairs available, the pools and hot tub are also nice when you're sick of the beach — nothing too fancy but always warm and inviting. The all-inclusive buffet food was not great. Breakfast was best meal of the day with traditional Mexican fare. Lunch just ok and dinner not good. We made dinner plans with many food choices nearby to explore. Overall this is the best location in town, but take or leave the all-inclusive. Great value for the cost and charmingly Mexican!

Worst hotel ever! Refused to give us the room we booked, a Superior Double Room. They claimed we had booked a Superior King Room, even though we had a copy of the reservation clearly stating a Superior Double Room. Then they said we checked in too late and they gave our room away. We checked in at 3:30pm, hardly late! They finally gave us a Junior Suite, but charged us and additional $120. The room was dark and dirty, in dire need of updating. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and the hot plate in the kitchenette did not work. To top it all off, the wine served at the restaurant and bar was unprintable. And the staff never apologized for not having the room we booked!

The legendary Hotel Playa Los Arcos. Located in the romantic area of the city. A place definitely to stay. Or to take food. Their restaurants. And activities. Very well organized. The new Year excellent places to party. And love it. No place to doubt I would recommend it.

Breakfast was average. Bacon was overcooked. Steak and eggs looked good. Burritos were small and boring. Pineapple juice came from a can. Service was slow. There was a poop in the toilet and pee in the urinal. I'd probably go back to try dinner sometime. Restaurant is Austrian food.

We have stayed here before and have always had a pleasant experience. Amazing views of the beach, sounds if night life and location make this one of our favorites. The staff is always friendly. Sleep in late, stay out late and enjoy the festivities downtown.

My stay in this place has been a very satisfying experience, from the service provided by the hotel to its closeness to the beach. A feeling of comfort with a safe, classic, romantic atmosphere, and a varied gastronomy (suitable). The service of the staff in the food area could improve but most are excellent. Warm rooms and beds in good quality but with a good quality cleaning service. Clean and safe pools. And a very good service in the bar area.

Staff is friendly. Food is good. Prices are reasonable. Great downtown location. Authentic Mexican hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

In the past 20 years they have gone from charming to pretentious. Their restaurant is one of the worst on the malecón. Your only option other than 'enjoying' their evening entertainment is to leave the property. I'm not sure what demographic they are aiming to attract. It seems pretty conservative and not any too LGBT friendly. They do not like Mexicans to enter the place. It's very out of place in Puerto Vallarta. 2 stars is being very generous.

Don't trust the pictures you see here, because to be honest this is not a 4 star hotel, not even 3. The rooms were not clean and the smell in the room was unbearable. The positive thing is location, first line from the ocean, with fascinating views.

Rooms are nicer than many in this area, though you are paying more. Beds are very comfortable and a/c works well. Some of the rooms don't have a good view. Pool is nice, though very crowded in season.

Nice rooms that are air conditioned. Right next to beach. Pools and bars on first floor and right next to the beach. Very close to the boardwalk. Good food around too.

I give this place a 3 tar because of Don Victor the bartender at the front bar. He would be the only reason I would go back. I was very disappointed on the rest of my stay. I got my room an hour late the day I arrived then my AC was out and I HAD TO PAY to get moved t another room. I must say they did move me to a ocean front but I had o pay extra on top of what I already had to pay for something they should have made up for. Staff didn't seem to care that they had messed up and just moved me. At the end I had a great time because of victor and that is the only reason I would go back. If he don't work there I would have given them a zero if I could because of the way the handled my stay.

I have stayed at Los Arcos twice now and am going to stay in January 2018. The rooms are traditional Mexican decor… nice! And the bathrooms were always cleaned everyday and well maintained…

Rooms are beautiful and clean. Staff is wonderful. The Windows need to be sealed better because the loud noise of the pool, construction, and music keep me from sleeping in on my vacation. The food needs to be better. This is an all included resort and I stopped eating there because I didn't like the food at all.

It is a preferred hotel everything is fantastic location and beach as your pool and services general, voveria to stay at the hotel.

The place is spacious, good rooms and all very kind.

We loved the culture and the employees! The room was small and you could hear all the music and street noise until 11 pm. After 11, it gets quiet. Beaches were kept really clean.

We found this place via Orbitz last week. Primarily picked this place because of the price but it was on the beach and it looked like it had character. It's the first time staying in Puerta Vallarta so I didn't have any reference on areas of PV to choose a hotel either. We arrived to find our reservation was cancelled by Orbitz, not sure how that happened as I haven't been able to reach them yet. However the hotel found me a room, so disaster averted. We love the character of the hotel and the staff is very nice. I have a car and the hotel has a valet service. Good thing because the Romantic Zone has limited parking on the streets. The rooms are small but clean. I had an oceanfront room with a great view of the city on one side and the beach on the other. Great location near everything downtown PV. I recommend Los Arcos if you want an authentic vacation here in PV.

We have been staying at Playa Los Arcos for many years. We love the character and amenities. Though the building is old, it is kept up well and is always comfortable. Right on Los Muertos Beach, the sound of the surf lulls us to sleep each night. Santiago and Emilio take care of the beach during the day. They will have lounges and umbrellas waiting for you if you ask. Tip them well. They deserve it!

Very good service and very comfortable and above all very clean. I don't have any complaint at all, I want to return soon.

The room they give us was like a "smurf house" way to small, the bathroom was a joke, I couldn't soap my feet without touching the walls. I reserved online and the pictures wasn't close to what I get, I paid for two nights but only stayed one, I asked for the view of the room they said I will have street view which is not to bad cause I didn't plan to stay in the room all the time, anyway, I couldn't handle the claustrophobic feeling, so I headed to the front desk and start complaining, they tried to give another room, I looked at it and it was a whole different scenario why they didn't do it at the beginning? The worst room I ever slept! One night and we leave.

It is very comfortable I would like to go back there very good service and all very clean I have no complaints.

Excellent service and very comfortable the only thing is that the bathrooms are very small but from there on out everything was perfect! I love the comfort of the rooms in a few words I come back to hosting.

We had our wedding there and they did awesome job. Rogelio our events person is the Greatest!

The staff was great, the food was great, the view was amazing, the locals are the kindest souls ever! And work so hard to please you! I loved everything about it. I really like the fact that it isn't in the city part of Puerto Vallarta; old Mexico is the only Mexico for me!

This review is for the spa, which I cannot recommend highly enough! I had a 50 minute relaxing message with Olivia. This was one of the most relaxing massages I've ever had and for only $33 pesos! Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and get a massage here.

Not I'll come back to ever in my life¡¡ All inclusive? At 9:40 pm there was no more light beer (if you wanted to can you had to pay for them) in law firms very, very simple (beans, rice, potato, egg and two stews) quesadillas take hours, the service pesimo¡ We were left without light in the restaurant (q is common area) the exits to the beach closed from 10 pm (had to be around the hotel) the rooms smell of humidity Terrible experience.

Hi excellent place for a family vacation. We had a pleasant experience at the hotel, the attention is first class, the food in the same way, and above all, the care is very good. Everything was luxury, the best thing was that I had the opportunity to see the whales, even though it was far away but I saw it, is an unforgettable experience, I recommend this place, greetings.

I was introduced to this place by a boyhood friend (we grew up in Chicago). He described it perfectly as "the Palmer House of Puerto Vallarta". Its the grand dame of the town with old world charm and service to match.

Very good. Good service and the buffet very rich.

It's on the beach the food is fine and has that 50's touch. Rooms are varied but ocean views are premium. Only surf spot in the Bay is directly in front. Close to Yalapa. I'm going back soon.

EXCELLENT! the best hotel, very rich food, very good service, very friendly waiters, rooms very comfortable and with everything you need have iron and, safe, hair dryer, towels, and the very large swimming pools, it is best that this opposite the beach and you can even ask for towels and chairs for the pool very nice okay cost I recommend apart this nice.

Checked into Playa Los Arcos, the lobby was nice and the lady at the front desk was friendly. Got to our room 223 with a pool and ocean view. Room was clean. Went to go get our bags that were at a friends condo but we could not get our door to close and lock. Told the front desk about this, they said the would have it fixed within a hour. Went for a walk, had a drink, two hours later they had not fixed the door. Asked for a room change and was told that they were sold out. I promptly asked to check out, I was then told they had rooms to show us. The first room barely fit a bed (I can't imagine spending any time in this room) and the second one did not have the view I paid extra for. After seeing the rooms and turning them down, I was then told that if I could put up with one of the rooms for a night they MIGHT have a nicer room tomorrow. I checked out with a full refund.

No Visitors. At any time. Not even yo' mama! This review applies to the Playa Los Arcos and also the Casa Dona Susana, as we stayed at both and they share the same management and food services. (as does the Los Arcos Suites) First off let me say that the food at Playa Los Arcos was very good. Their buffet had a superb array of food in a Mexican cuisine with a gentle amount of Americanization to appease the palate. And the serving staff and house-keeping staff were outstanding. Friendly, attentive and pleasant at all times. But. Their Hotel Wi-Fi is abysmal. It functions in some areas. Is non-existent in some rooms and mediocre in others. And trying to get on the Wi-Fi in the main dining area is an effort best avoided as it will only be frustrating. So if you are a technophile. This is not a good place to stay. And they have an “unwritten” Rule, that does not appear on their website, their booking information or on the House Rules and Regulations personally delivered upon check-in. Visitors are not allowed! At any time, anywhere on their property, by anyone. “not even yo' mama! ” So if you are a single male or female that may wish to engage with the locals. This is NOT the place to stay. If you are a business man who may need to see local clients. Then this is NOT the place to stay. If you are part of a group spread between hotels. Then this is NOT the place to stay, as others not registered will not be allowed to visit you.

They were the best vacation of my life and more if you go with being loved atu hand. Excellent food clean and wonderful hotel and beach in front. Hopefully and have chance to return air to puerto vallarta.

$100 and a watch were stollen from the room.

We stayed at the partner hotel Los Arcos and were very pleased. Our only negative comment would was that there was a bit of a musty smell in the room when we arrived. The front desk was extremely helpful and housekeeping was great. The balcony's were a social extravaganza. Within a few days, you knew (or didn't know at your preference) your neighbors and what was going on about town and when. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and lack of pomposity, the Los Arcos is a great choice.
