Not to mention my mom is disabled and we were denied a wheelchair until check-in was okay.

Since I got there some of the staff was very rude and bossy. In the buffet they bring us the drinks in not a very good way.
They don't have parking lot you have to pay 65 pesos for a day and it's a block from the hotel.
My brother got sick there the food was any good.
The beach had too many rocks.
The pool the water was very cold.
In the bathroom of the room everytime I take a shower the bathroom was full of water everywhere.

No recomiendo el canto del sol, Si planeas pasar un buen rato en Puerto Vallarta no vengas aqui son muy buenos arruinando vacasiones.

Staff are good and very friendly rooms are kept clean it’s my first time here and I love it.

The service was good but the room was behind the buffet couldn’t see a thing and the cooking fans ran from 6 in the morning until 11 at night. They room was fine but the bathroom shower tiles are cracked and falling off.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at canto del sol. The staff are incredibly helpful and hard working — special thanks to Francisco at the luxury pool such a great guy!
It was my 40th birthday while I was away the staff in the mexican restaurant helped make my day!

Amazing staff and service. Provided an amazing atmosphere for our special wedding day. Their planner Ale is fantastic and did an amazing job. This all inclusive resort is highly recommended. The resort is kept very clean, including the pool. The security is great and location is very nice.

Fantastic all inclusive hotel for a great price! Food is good, staff is friendly, drinks are tasty… Pool is big and there is also a smaller one, close to the tenniscourt. Great shows in the evening, and Fiesta was amazing!

Very pleasant stay, excellent pool temperature, 3 pools 1 main and secondary for children very well separated and conditioned, sufficient beds. Drinks with good quality liquor, food in the restaurant varied and good taste, cleanliness in the rooms is very good, and the hotel is well maintained and maintained. The beach is small and with small stones but enough. I highly recommend it for the performance and price.

Had a lovely special family holiday we will always remember. Great hotel and resort, even better staff. Special thanks to Kevin and Ivan (entertainment team), Jose and Pablo (pool bar) and Antonio (Buffet). However star of the show is Jorge, the pool side waiter, simply a hard worker, great attitude and always smiling. Yes and we did see you slip into the pool, jump straight out and immediately continue serving the guest while sopping wet, only to change into dry clothes, when there was a slight lull in demand.

A definite home away from home feeling. This was my first resort ever to visit in Mexico. We were placed in a room close to the pool. They had lots of activities throughout the day (thank you Kevin! ) & all restaurants, bars and pool areas were nice and clean. The rooms could be updated but I very much enjoyed my stay here.

I really enjoyed my stay here. A very well maintained property. The staff was awesome and always went the extra mile. Food was tasty and drinks were quite good. Very good value overall. I will be back soon!

Agradables suites con cocineta, mesita y algunas habitaciones con balcón, excelente ubicación, dentro de una plaza comercial y con un pequeño acceso a la playa pública; sin embargo el mobiliario no es tan nuevo y la atención es bastante moderada, ni siquiera existe en recepción una persona físicamente que esté a tu disposición, siempre mandan llamar a alguien de su otro hotel que está en frente.

This was booked thru Westjet, end of season, April 8-15\18. Hotel only about half full so no line ups, no waiting for anything, and quiet. Hotel is "quaint". Could use some renovations soon as it is older but be careful not to lose the "charm". Nor really a 4 star. More a 3.5 star. Good value for dollar tho'. Close to transportation.

In general it was a good stay, but not excellent, although if I would recommend visiting the hotel, it is nice just a few details to improve, as truthful information at 100%, something more than empathy on the part of the bartenders, first place in the payment parking, and details That although they seem minor, if they make a difference in US tourists.

Not my favourite. Buffet and restaurants had good variety and food was tasty. Beach was very small and not clean. Lots of rocks and pebbles in the sand — crowded as well with lots of vendors constantly asking you to buy their goods. Not much to do on the resort. The room service was extremely slow with a very limited selection of food. Room was also small and uncomfortable. The resort was centrally located close to shopping, restaurants and not far from the downtown boardwalk (melacon).

It is at the entrance to Vallarta with access to the beach and very good atmosphere the rooms and the place is quiet even though it is in a busy city, including walking you can go years bars or clubs, the evenings are amazing from your beach and the breakwaters give a That special.

The Canto del Sol Hotel in Puerto Vallarta is an excellent place to all points of view: their buffet is very varied and the food is really good, the people are very friendly and know very well respect the privacy of holidaymakers. So I recommend it to all people who want to spend a very pleasant week. To confess, I think next year I will be there for two weeks!

Excellent facilities, good Food, although there is not much variety, in the bar like know serve well, but slow to serve you, has pool bar, the waiters are very friendly, in any area, my only complaint is at the reception, because the staff is not very friendly, out there it's all perfect… The cevichería is delicious, there are 2 swimming pools, has its own beach, but it is not very suitable for swimming, at least the 2 times I have gone I have not been able to do it… Is a smoke free hotel, so only in the area of beach can smoking, family-run hotel and very quiet at 11pm. Because this silence is definitely a good option for rest.

It was a pleasant experience, super clean hotel, the rooms comfortable, the facilities great would return without a doubt, however, stop to put us under pressure with what time-sharing was malisima experience and the only but that I put you to the hotel.

My review is specifically for TIME SHARE. Absolutely don't do it! Totally not worth it. Guest services treats you differently. They come up with random "rules" that you cannot find anywhere written. When confronted, the guest services agent says its internal and they can't show you. How am obligated to follow rules I am Not aware of, nor you can show me anywhere? The rooms are NOt necessarily as advertised. Again, when confronted they say "you should not assume anything" as if you were supposed to know that what is offered is not what you will receive. No disposition to help at all. I will definitely not be returning just based on this alone.

Very clean, non smoking but the food leaves really to be desired! (except in the morning, the omelet stand is a sure bet)
Even in Cuba which has a bad reputation for food, I ate better!
We ate outside most of the time because of this and it's a pity for an all inclusive…
But apart from that it was very correct as a base back to explore the area. We also rented jetskis on the beach right outside the hotel. Looking for there are a lot of possible activities as the hotel is well placed.

The staff is very friendly and caring. The buffet is quite small but there’s still something for everyone. Rooms are clean, no smoking policy throughout the resort except in a designated area. Very close to town and in walking distance of restaurants and shopping centres like Costco and Walmart and The Mega. The Christmas party night was amazing! Lots of food, gingerbread houses, candy, desserts, decorations, and performances!

Staff is friendly and service is great. No high pressure for time share buy in. No complaints about the food. Rooms are dated but clean. Pool bar is wonderful, but better if it was adults only. Beach is typical for Pacific Ocean. Overall good value for your money.

It is a hotel, to some extent economic, It is all inclusive or you can pay only the accommodation, it has nice facilities, at the moment they are improving some parts since it is a hotel with already a few years, but still it is comfortable is fully familiar as it has activities for all tastes, my four-star opinion.
But it still has a good location to get to various city points. L.

The attention of the hotel workers is very good, the facilities are good although they are not the most modern, but what if I liked very much are the plans that only include breakfast since you are in a commercially very active area of the area with urba Puerto vallarta and you have many different places to eat and very good seasoning.

I just got home from my first time there and it was amazing! The group of people I was there with were amazing, but I do have to say that the staff made it even more enjoyable! Our server by the pool George (Jorge) was amazing! The entertainment guys were so fun (Kevin, Ivan, and Sergio) and all the other staff were great too… everyone seemed to have a smile on their face. I can't wait to go back!

Less expensive than Canto del Sol, same staff. If you like adventure rather than staying in your hotel, this is the place. Quiet, clean and the pool is fabulous!

Probably our formula was the best choice: All inclusive stay at Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol. / at Canto del Sol accros the street you go to eat & have drinks & a la carte & entertainment day or evenings by the swimming pool or tennis court. At Villas Vallarta the price reflects the quality or vice versa The staff is very friendly & helpful. Rooms very clean… ours had a kitchenette & that was very helpful with coffeemaker & fridge, sink & stove. Loved to go at the swimming pool at Villas Vallarta at any time & to find places in the sun or in the shades. Accross the street at Canto del Sol it was really beautiful & everything (see prices if bought separately) but almost impossible to find a a place. All very busy all the time If you are looking for a pretty decent place to sleep Villas Vallarta is just perfect & for all inclusive packages (sleep at Villas Vallarta with Canto del Sol for activities) it is 2 times perfect. Love Puerto Vallarta for the hustle and bustle, music & people. We will come back next year. We will look to book far in advance to get the all inclusive package in the same formula. Like this you save a lot of money instead booking everything at Canto del Sol. OLA Not to forget. From the hotel Villas Vallarta you are on the beach accros the street at Canto del Sol in 30sec to 1 min if you are walking really slow Canto del Sol is on the beach At Canto del sol The restaurants a la carte are very good. The surf & turf one is located outside.

Staff is very good but the front desk is basically useless. Grounds are clean and well kept. Food was good, but not very good. Shows were good with variety (above school theater and you could see the talent of the danxers). As soon as you enter you get a hard sale for their vacation package and that will r.

Very beautiful resort with amazingly friendly staff. Room quality is the only issue I had (plugged sink, bathroom door not locking, no fan in the washroom, not enough plugins to charge two phones…) The issues weren't major and the rooms aren't important in the grand scheme of things. Very pleased with our experience here.

We spent 2 two weeks at your resort and had a fabulous time. The food at all of the restaurants was wonderful, and the service was outstanding. Special thanks to Sandra at the front desk who was able to upgrade our room to a Studio suite with a balcony. Also thank you Raul, you became such a good friend during our stay and we look forward to seeing you again on our next visit. Our housekeeper, Gloria was a real sweetheart, thank you for your service. Another of our favourite people was Sebastian who provided us with such great service at the Surf N Turf and became a great friend as well. We will definitely be returning to this resort.

We've been to Canto del Sol twice now. Our 2nd trip was every bit as good as the 1st, which was outstanding. The rooms are a bit dated but are kept very clean and comfortable. The cleaner made a cute bunny from a towel for us. The food is average but the service from the waiters was splendid. The pool and area are magnificent with activities every day. The bar outside by the pool has very attentive bartenders and waiting staff. A special shout out to Jorje for his always great service.

Just came home from Canto Del Sol and I was so sad to leave. The moment we stepped into the lobby we were in love. The place is beautiful, the staff incredibly hard working and friendly, the food awesome, the scenery breath taking, the sunsets unreal! Canto Del Sol is not big and new and flashy but it’s the best resort we have ever stayed at. It’s smaller and charming, the grounds and rooms are impeccably clean. The staff work around the clock to keep that place up. The entertainment through out the day is perfect… not too much and not too little.
The surrounding town is awesome to take a walk around and visit the local shops and foodie places. Mama Rita’s pizza is just outside and amazing!
We will definitely be coming back again and again!

Absolute peach of a place, right now sitting by the pool and there is a guy playing mellow sax over ambient beats, sums the place up. Anyone with negative comments on here must be somewhat spoilt (I read a review where someone said they couldn't find food, there are 5 or more eating places, food served from 7 am to midnight, they will bring food to you poolside, and drinks, remarkable). The service is first class, always over an above, the entertainment a great bonus and varied, facilities for kids great (active Kids club), can't recommend highly enough and cannot find fault with this place.

This hotel was TERRIBLE. They kicked out my parents and about 30 other people for “not paying” when they were paid in full. No notice, they had to pay a premium price to stay longer. They kicked out my parents who hardly speak English and don’t speak any Spanish. These guys are crooks. Worst part of Mexico. Stay AWAY from this place like it’s cancer. Do not trust anyone who works there, they’ll rob you blind and smile while doing it. Complaining to Mexican Tourism about these morons now. We’re owed thousands of dollars still that we probably won’t see.

Clean rooms, good service, good food. Drinks aren't watered down. Only complaints are that the beds are hard and we don't like timeshare pitch to get your towel cards! Other than that very happy with our all-inclusive stay.

My experience was that we were greeted very well upon arrival, in the reception were clear and quick with respect to the reservation. A bad point is that the valet parking is not included, when they said that if. Per night they charge you 60 pesos. The location of the hotel I think it's good, because that's still something removed from the malecon and downtown Puerto Vallarta, however it is also not on the shores of start bay. The rooms are very well distributed, with excellent space, are comfortable mattresses and pillows for sleeping. If you play balcony towards the interior of the hotel, you will have a nice view towards the area of the pool, the restaurants and the vegetation. The service has been good except the parking, and an error in the allocation of the room, however, outside there, the attention has been good. They will give you welcome, and give you two coupons to be able to dine more exclusively in one of the restaurants that require reservations. The buffet of all days, has been good, however a little boring and repetitive. The hotel is quite spacious and features tennis courts, gym (a bit small), two pools, good show at night, nice facilities, only a bit reduced your beach, with palapa and hammocks and clean it up a bit, but excellent views to the sea and the horizon.

It Is a nice place and especially very accessible and is on the beach and have Palapas and beach chairs and is a Oxxo on the corner and there is a market next to the hotel and there are massage therapy and relaxing at an affordable price to me cost me one for 450 pesos And there are for the tours of all kinds ♌

Nice hotel, good food, good shows but I never come back. There are not beaches only to see you can not go in. Coming from a far country I got a room to see a wall. Another guest from England said the same. What a bad room coming from England or Canada. Why not a room with view? seeing a wall I think this hotel is losing guests Needs more strategic marketing at the reception.

My family liked the beds, they were a bit firm for my taste. Food has improved since my last stay. Service is outstanding, they really work hard for the guests to have a super experience.

Great place. We have stayed there for the last few years. We like the included breakfast that allows us to find wonderful places for dinner rather than being tied to an all inclusive resort.

Zero recommended, the only restaurant of the hotel closes at 11:30am, only has breakfast, which is buffet with little variety and horrible seasoning, if you want eggs to taste you charge them separately. Nothing advisable to go with children, on the internet appears to have kitchenette, but you get to the room and do not have, in my case or close the balcony door. I Am pregnant and I was still sent to the bottom of the hotel, which was hard to go through the whole hotel to get to the room. The Hotel has no beach, you have to go to the hotel opposite (on the outside) which is from the same chain to access the beach. In General The staff of the hotel is friendly, however there is one that another person nothing accessible, being Q the room was for 2 adults and 1 child, we only got 2 towels for beach.

Expensive, few facilities, the worst buffet in which I have eaten, only has restaurant service in the mornings, some employees are not able to realuzar their function. For me it was a bad experience, until the parking lot they want to charge.

I came back after 15 years, excellent place for a family trip. The rooms are simple but clean. The restaurants serve very good quality food and the waiter service is punctual. In the pool it is quiet to rest and perfect to swim and stay awhile at the bar taking a drink. The animation during the day is very parent and they entertain you with many activities. I would definitely come back.

All of the staff are very helpful and very kind. The food is great and there is a great variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The rooms are well stocked and always kept up on. Extremely clean. The whole facility is cleaned and kept up on often.

Pity of hotel because despite having excellent facilities, offering rich food, being friendly and attentive on the part of the staff, you need to be a partner to give you the best rooms. The one that touched us smelled too much moisture and the furniture like couch, chairs and curtains were filthy and I consider it a bit unfair for what I paid for.

Everything was great because you can rest, you can work, you can go for a walk by beach or square to Malecón by nearby, you can have fun alone or accompanied and even retire to reflect a little in the chapel and pray with the director in communion with that of others Work making your stay very sincere and humane, excellent.

The staff here from the moment you enter treat you like family! They are awesome! The property is very well kept. Being beachfront was so cool to experience! If you've ever been somewhere and thought "where is my waiter/waitress, I need a drink! " That's not here… these guys are on point and always have your drinks full! Food was decent. Pooltime games and interactive staff was great. I would go again.

It is close to the airport, about 15 minutes. Make sure you plan ahead if you are arriving before noon of your check in day as your room may not be ready. The resort has a newer side on the ocean with lots happening but the older side across the street is being updated and has its own pool and drink hut. We stayed there and upgraded to a suite with fridge, microwave and small stove for cooking. We chose all inclusive but there are modified plans for breakfast only that are cheaper. The resort food is excellent and so is the staff. The resort is close to the main street and the public transit buses get you to most PV stops including Costco, Walmart and the Malacon. Banks exchange Canadian money at a decent rate. We would go back.

It's a good value hotel… the staff is really friendly. The only thing it's kind of old and some of the facilities need some maintainers… the location is the best thing. You can walk to different places even to downtown a nice food 20 minutes walk to the boardwalk. Ir you're looking to be outside the resort a couple of days it is a great option.

Had an excellent vacation at Canto del Sol! All of the staff were very nice, and there were plenty of activities to keep us entertained. The food was good; especially the surf and turf restaurant. The beach was beautiful and warm, but not the greatest for swimming, so we spent our swimming time in the pool at the swim-up bar. After checking out, they even let us keep our wristbands and enjoy the resort another two hours until our ride to the airport arrived. I would highly recommend this resort for a nice, relaxing getaway.

We are staying in a friends condo within Villas Vallarta complex and although I get the fact that we are not staying in the resort I am disappointed that they do not recognize the importance of the condos to their resort. They appear to treat the condo owners and their guests like we are criminals. They us d to allow condo people to use the pool but for some unknown reason they don't allow use of the pool. As I see it, the condos and the shops below invest a lot of money which allows a small resort like this one to stay alive year after year… a little good will (use of the pool) would make it a lot easier to refer travellers to the resort, just saying.

It is very good. Complies in good form it q one need in their holiday. For the price not what I know. I paid it with the agency discount. Thus q no is if the q costs. I stayed in a Studio double has all it necessary to pass it without any problem. Kitchen, utensils as well as iron dryer and others.

Very friendly staff, clean and quiet… very well. But not are 5 because to give you them cards of them towels you stuck with a talk to bind you to to a presentation of sales for a time shared…

Everything was of luxury, kindness, care and cleaning.

Stayed during a weekend getaway in Puerto Vallarta, mainly because of the attractive price and somehow “central” location. This is an old, run down hotel that feels and actually IS pretty insecure. Villas Vallarta works as part of “Canto del Sol” hotel that is located across the street. There is an open reception and very dark hallways that anybody can easily access from the street. After 6PM there’s no one in the Villas Vallarta building; security being almost inexistent and as we discovered later, there’s also no CCTV in any area of the hotel, leaving the property completely open to anybody to access from the street. It is important to mention that the surroundings of the hotel feel and look insecure. It is a place full of unoccupied commercial spaces, “massage” parlors and wine stores. During the last evening of our stay, we went out for dinner with some friends. The valet asked at which time do we expected to come back to the hotel, because they would need to park the car in another lot, adjacent to Canto del Sol Hotel. That evening, an iPhone and other effects, were robbed from our room. We discovered that the maid took one of our keycards (the spare one that we were not using) from inside the room that afternoon, after being called to clean the bathroom as the shower leaked and flooded the floor.

The Hotel is not so bad, the rooms are comfortable but access to them badly located, make you give all the way to the hotel and the service facilities are the first that are close to the lobby, the breakfast buffet the ludicrously-very, very nice but the receptionists instruct you evil, tell you that you can make use of the facilities of the Hotel Canto del Sol and accessing security staff treat you as plagued, too elitist, charge you the parking service and is not mentioned on his page, until you reach the hotel by car. The page shows images of the Canto del Sol Hotel; they sell you one thing to another, attention to that! Had ever treated me thereby as elitist as in this Hotel, I definitely do not recommend it.

Excelente atención del personal. Hay buena administración y sus trabajadores lo muestran. En comida hay la variedad básica de alimentos, en coherencia con lo que se paga. Una buena elección en estas fechas.

Location is great, food is amazing, staff are unbelievably accommodating and pleasant. The only complaint I have so far is the shower won't stay at a constant temperature. Some in my group complained the beds were too firm but the front desk will provide a mattress topper if you ask.

Loved the place. Great value for price food was great, booze flowed, pool was warm and clean and staff were always cleaning and painting only drawback was dated hotel rooms.

Okay the hotel the bad thing is that it has no beach; also the Wi-Fi not should cost.

The hotel was great, the rooms were great, the location was great as long as you stay on the grounds and the service was the best I have ever experienced.

I only visited one of the lounges. It was with a simple but beautiful montage. Clean and tidy. Food had good flavor and to correct temperature.

Villas Vallarta is a complex right next to Hotel Canto del Sol. As I understand, they are privately owned. I had the misfortune of staying at apartment F13 mezanine and It was a terrible experience. The place was disastrous, the owners, Gaby and Marcos, were very slow in fixing the many problems I encountered, and in some cases, they did not do anything at all. I do not know about the other apartments, but stay away from F13 mezanine, Gabi and Marcos. I could not chose less than one star!

I absolutely loved this place! It is a family oriented resort (in which kids are taken care of pretty much from 9 to 5). The staff was absolutely amazing, some of them remembered us despite hundreds of people passing by them everyday, the place was absolutely pristine clean and the food was very decent for an all inclusive. Their baristas were amazing and quick on their feet, the included kayaking was great fun and we were given quite a bit of freedom on where to go. The only downsides were the very small gym, only 3 cardio machines and no squat rack and the lack of power sockets in the room, it made for some creative powering of our electronic devices. Recommend for care free vacation!

Very bad hotel and lousy service would never recommend it if they have more options please chequenlas this hotel is not worth.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful and extremely friendly. All the staff spoke English so it was easy to communicate. We had a problem with our lock on our belcony and the hotel was quick to re locate us and make us comfortable. I would definitely go back and recommend. The only thing was the pool is very small but the beach is only a 5 min walk away.

Highly recommended, it is one of the most comfortable hotels and you'll find the deal of the most friendly. The bufett food in the mornings simply delicious. The closeness to the beach is the best.

The resort is extremely clean. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable a d there is enough room for all of your things. Thr food is excellent, there is something for everyone. You should absolutely visit this resort the next time you come to Mexico.

Good hotel although the rooms are a bit smallish. All give you an excellent tried and the food is good, very little variety but it is good food. The only thing I did not like is that it only gave me a pass to dine in the specialty restaurants.

I liked the food… the rooms were nice and cold the hotel was beautiful, and it was right by the ocean where you can swim in a clear clean beach. The service was good the staff were awesome except for while we were at the buffet it was hotter than hell and they make. The poor staff wear long sleeve shirts and dress pants and it is not air conditioned … I felt so sorry for the staff they work there butts off. My only other problem was they booked events that hotel guests couldn't attend and they were booked in a section where it restricted us from the beach and the patio rather than booking in a banquet room (they do have banquet rooms) and they did photo shoots and the asst manager told us we had to wait 5-10 minutes for our scheduled lunch which turned into an hour and a half which is a problem when you have plans and a schedule and worse off she then asked us to move in the pool side chairs we were waiting in so she could take pics there as well.

The staff at this hotel is very accommodating. The hotel is kept up beautifully. Wi-Fi connections are sometimes difficult to acquire, Spent a week here with my sisters during spring break and enjoyed the central location and easy access to transportation.

Very good attention, I recommend it.
