Pros — Great views of the city. Very good buffet breakfast. Very nice bar and pool areas. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Good room service. Friendly staff. Cons — 1st bottle of water and in room coffee pouches are complimentary. All additional water and coffee for additional days must be purchased. Other hotels in the area provide new water bottles and coffee for each day of your stay. Only 1 restaurant in the hotel is open for dinner. Very good but quite expensive. Plenty of other really nice restaurants in the area, but not close enough to walk to. You must use local taxi or call Uber to go to any of them.

Everything is really nice but there service isn't so good. Showed up at 8 am for a room I had got and they told me won't be available to 3pm… This is suppose to be a 4 diamond but they can't even have the rooms ready so that kinda suck. Food is good they have a gym spa pool wich is great but I really think they need way better service. I wasn't the only one that had to wait for a room had a couple friends also that had same problem as me.

Algo de ruido durante toda la noche, como de aire acondicionado (aunque estaba apagado), o alguna maquinaria. El agua de la regadera fluctuaba constantemente poniéndose más caliente o fría de lo que quería. No limpiaron la cafetera después de que la use un dia, solo la acomodaron. Las instalaciones si están muy padres y cómodas. El trato en recepción muy atento, cordial y servicial.

Very good customer service would not say good excellent but best of all are its clean hallways and its excellent quality staff when I entered I impressed I had never seen the best working environment and excellent background music accompanied by their newly baked I couldn't find what I was looking for aswell that an old man who works there gave me the condoms he occupied.

It has a very favorable location, with two shopping squares nearby (The great square and Plaza del Sol) and with a very amazing view of the Matute Remus bridge that at night becomes spectacular. The service is very good from the staff and the rooms are very comfortable and I agreed to what is needed on a trip.

High level Hotel. Very good view in one of the most beautiful areas of the city.

One of the best hotels in the city. The service is excellent, the rooms have everything you need to have a pleasant holiday. Also, the pool area is very comfortable. The location is perfect, close to Lopez Mateos, Avenida Guadalupe and Calzada Lázaro Cárdenas. Highly recommended to come to Guadalajara.

To be of the Riu chain leaves a lot to be desired. Please don't misunderstand me. The place is gorgeous, central and most of the rooms have an amazing view.
The Probmema is the lack of maintenance.
Elevators that do not serve, shower with rust and in my room all the spotlights were short circuited by turning on a specific switch.

Nice hotel and probably the only better option if you are not in downtown Guadalajara. Rooms are well equipped and staff is helpful. Morning buffet is worth it and there are decent eating options in the hotel itself for lunch and dinner, not to mention local eateries which are 5 to 10 mins away from the hotel.

For years my family and I have stayed in different Riu hotels though Mexico. This was by far the worst experience ever. I wouldn't ever choose this hotel again had I not spoken with the Hotel Director from the Hotel during my stay. With a reservation for 2 executive rooms with crown level I would have expected a little bit more attention and helpfulness from the staff than what I got. 1. No one to welcome you or help with the luggage at the entrance. The front desk personel completely ignores the executive line letting the regular line finish and THEN they let the executive line pass. 2. No towel, no welcoming, no explanation of any perk of crown level was given by anyone. 3. Room has exactly same amenities than the regular rooms and no "good night service" at all for the first 3 nights of a 4 night stay 4. I told I wanted to pay for both rooms in advance, and for some reason the girl just charged me one room. Which made my sister be looked out of the room having to put her own card for insurance purposes in order to get in the room while I came back to the hotel a while later, only to be told it was my fault for not telling the receptionist to charge both at the same time. When clearly I told her I would pay the total of 2 rooms 5. In pool area we had to wait around 20 minutes to get a towel since the waiters and pool buttler we asked for the towels as per the security guard instructions were more busy charging drinks.

The RIU Hotel located in Lopez Mateos and Lázaro Cárdenas is a good place to go dancing every Friday night. They make Latin rhythms social in which they play a live group. The social they do next to the hotel bar, then the food and drink is very accessible when it comes to dancing. It's a great place to go and have fun on Friday night.

Visit for a professional event. The boardroom was in excellent condition and with good technology to give a good exposure. Excellent customer service.

Excellent rooms. Very spacious and the breakfast is excellent. A very good choice and central. Although not so cheap is the best in the city.

Great location. This hotel has all the ammenities you need, plus great service. Bar is a must, please don't forget to try the margaritas and dance during salsa lessons.

The event halls are large and clean. Very friendly staff. It has a good view, right in front of the Matute Remus Bridge which in the evenings has an illumination that makes it look even more. It is a place of easy access, located at the crossroads of 2 important avenues of the city with steps to overpass, which turns them into fast roads, so that the access from any place of the city is fast, even from the entrance by road and to the Airport. The quality of the events is excellent, the technical staff always on the slope and with an excellent deal.

It is one of the most beautiful hotels in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, very close/central to the historic center, monuments, squares or variety of restaurants.
It is a hotel with a modern image, very spacious and clean, ideal to perform as formal and casual events.
Inside you will find restaurants and bars of very good view, in quality of service and ingredients do not skimp.
A plus that the bar has theme nights to be visited daily and does not cause custom.
The rooms clean, spacious, made by trained staff, the mini bar which includes the super Full room to be complimentary and the breakfast you don't try all in one visit.
The hotel is worth the 5 stars, the best for my taste, not for something is always above 90% in occupancy.

Simply fenomenal. It is an extremely imposing property, luxury and sobriety combine. Delicious food and treatment, let's not even say. I was delighted.

Outstanding hotel with beautiful modern rooms on 40 floors. Is the tallest house in the area and provides great views over the city. Tuesdays Salsa, often live music (mariachi) in the lobby bar. In the rooms you don't get any of it, not even from traffic noise. Underground parking under the hotel. Protected outdoor pool on the first floor, huge breakfast room with terrace also on the first floor. Breakfast on Sundays until 13:00 pm — with childcare and live music.
In 10 minutes by car in the historical centre. In 20min in the industrial areas in the south. (La Tijera)
I would stay here again when I get to Guadalajara.

On my work trips to Guadalajara I stayed at another hotel of the chain inns but this hotel I really liked it a lot, it is really quite elegant, and the breakfast buffet is quite good if I would not say that excellent!
Although the billing you must do online they do so at the moment.

Colorful hotel with very bright and contemporary finishes, the room I was assigned is orange, the modernity is so much that you lose a little feeling in GDL, for my taste a little exaggerated and too ostentatious, the reception staff very nice and friendly, the price-quality ratio is very good, so I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Very big business hotel with all needed facilities. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The location is very good. Maybe a little bit crowded.

Was there to use the pool. Great music and food. However I found the music a bit too loud. But will go back to use the pool again!

Amazing view. The rooms are great. Very comfortable, and very clean. We hardly wanted to leave. Excellent location as well. Easy access to most of the city. The pool was good though it was pretty cold. Was disappointed to see it was not heated given the weather in Guadalajara. All the staff was also very friendly! We really enjoyed our stay!

Lousy elevator design and logistics. To move from parking to access there is only a small elevator. The elevators for the rest of the building are insufficient.

The restaurant that is where I have gone is decent. That if it closes half early to my way of seeing. Well you are very comfortable and if you are a guest ask you to go to the terrace.

Hotel well located with good atmosphere, without very attentive and the place is very nice, the only thing I did not like was that I got a room with double bed when I can single came. The restaurant is very good luxurious and the food is very good, there is plenty of food and no owners itself. You have restaurants very close if you like to know more places in Guadalajara, besides that the view is very nice.

A great hotel in one of the largest cities in Mexico, the Riu Plaza is the only Riu that is not on the beach at the moment, then they will be built more. Its architecture is imposing a multi-storey tower with shopping mall and the whole thing. It is located next to the emblematic Matute oars bridge.

5 star hotel with an excellent view of the city. It has an incredible vibe and an awesome staff. Will visit again if I have the chance.

Is a nice hotel the rooms have a very good view of the city but for example in my room there are some things that doesn't work well like the light but include a mini bar.

Well I think is the best hotel in Guadalajara, Is luxury and this has many events in the lobby and rooms there. That's a cool hotel also located in a good area.

Very good service. The location is great and the rooms have a great view above Guadalajara city. I can confidently say that the customer service is way above average when compared to other hotel chains in Mexico. The overall quality of the food is not great and that's a downside but the location of the hotel, cleanliness and benefits for the guests.

Very bad hotel, too much occupation for the facilities that you offer to the guest. He personal excellent but not there is sufficient to offer a service of hotel 5 star that say have, for my is a hotel 3 stars and very opaque.
And I say this not only for the hotel in Mazatlan, the Riu jalisco this in darkness. The Riu Guadalajara very pompous and everything and really leaves much to be desired.
Sera that the Spaniards believe that still need mirrors.

Ask for a high floor and you will not be disappointed. Probably the best breakfast buffet by far. They even have open salsa dancing classes and open to public dance's on Friday evenings. All in all a classy hotel with good contemporary taste.

Malaa strategy, for three hours ahead of arrival, charge the whole day. The justoo ees that charge you the %. But as they don't want to lose… plus an access card that anywhere has 300 replacement there charged her $1, 500… completely abusive in collections.

One of the best hotels near downtown Guadalajara. The rooms are spacious and have modern look that combines good color tones that make you feel peaceful. It located near the major arteries if the city so getting to were you need to go is not an issue. It everything you expect from a five star establishment. The place is very beautiful and we'll maintained the staff is superduper friendly an attentive to all your needs. The gym is probably of the best I have been in the pool is big and very clean. I travel for a living and this place is one of the best around dollar for dollar.

As great rooms, pool, food, only if booking several nights filled with you only once the servi-bar, and increasingly put less things and apart at the time of give me room, gave me a bed more small q we had not agreed, but excellent service…

Make arrangements from the floor without warning and leave rest. It calls one to order reports and hang him. It does not have a la carte, buffet-only restaurant.

Rooms are very contemporary with a lot of emphasis on the coordinating the decor. Food in the restaurant is amazing and at a very good price. They have events almost every night for those that like to be social. Very friendly to those that are non-Spanish speakers.

The hotel that all who visit GDL want to stay, it is beautiful in its entirety, rooms, lobby, bar, salons, food is (mostly) spectacular! Breakfast buffet is the most complete of Guadalajara, is expensive but very very rich, for my taste, the pool is very small, but takes all 10!

Nice location, actually the best location in te city, comfortable rooms, excelent service, but looks no so well decorated so it makes you feel you are not in a 5 star hotel.

I visited this hotel during a business trip and, wow man I have to say it is a pretty fancy one. Maybe the fanciest hotel I've stayed ever. I was lucky and has a room on the 19th floor. The room was large, two realy comfy beds (however, I just needed one). The bathroom is clean and modern as the rest of the room. Only thing is, sometimes you have to search your stuff because the house-keeping staff thought it might look better at a different place (other drawer or closet). All the employees are friendly and try to make your stay as nice as possible. The hotel has a bar, sure like almost every hotel and in this bar there are special events like Salsa evenings. There is a pool + bar and a Gym both nice and sufficient big to fulfill your holiday needs. But the thing which makes this hotel that nice is the breakfast. You have a breakfast buffee which allows you to eat all your meals at one time (breakfast, lunch and dinner) without eating one dish twice. Simply amazing. Next time Guadalajara. This is my place to stay. 100%.

Good hotel, probably the most modern of Guadalajara with good facilities and decor, buffet breakfast is varied and very good food, but all of this is going to shit when you have to deal with employees, overblown arrogance on the part of some daring to tell a guest "here is worth mothers the client, which sends am", hopefully to improve this aspect that left the positive that can have.

I like it because this father yiene tpdo and truth has good quality there only did I spend a week with my cousins parents and grandparents was very padrr I like excellent.

It's a very nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast bar is wonderful! The location is okay, not very walkable, but with many restaurants and shops about a mile or two away. The free Wi-Fi is very slow, too slow to support VOIP, and a wired connection is not available. A big negative was the elevators. The hotel has six for guests. Three serve the upper floors, three the lower floors. They really need about twice this many. During peak times there are long waits for an elevator. I experienced two elevator malfunctions. Once it stopped between floors for about 20 to 30 seconds. One morning I was running late, naturally. The elevator reversed direction at the first floor and went to the 23rd. It then started back down, the doors opening at random floors including the women-only floor.

An oasis in Guadalajara; this is a city hotel I could spend a lot of time in. The rooms are smartly designed with orange highlights and nice touches. The common areas are beautiful, grand, and flowing with creativity. A very impressive property. All of the basics worked fine; the only thing I can point out are the beds. They are unusually hard. The breakfast buffet is vast, and there is a nice 2nd floor patio where you can eat. 9/10.

You can walk to Lula bistro, by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Definitely try it out.

Be prepared to drive or take a taxi if you want to do anything outside hotel. Nothing to do about a mile plus in any directions. Very nice place.
