Delighted with the attention of the staff and with the facilities full of stories. A beautiful hotel.

Very nice facilities, but, lacks maintenance to the hotel, the staff very friendly and willing to help, excellent location and reasonable price.

It seems to be a good option but it is only appearance, it lacks a lot of maintenance the pipes are old, they smell bad, I had problems because the water from the shower instead of going to the drain came out through another drain, very good employees and they helped me but pessy experience and without air conditioning 😥 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

We stayed in the suite, according to the best and the truth is very sloppy, all of poor quality and all parapeted, the air conditioning does not serve, very bad service despite being friendly the people, and very expensive, the only advantage is that it is in good location but to everything else I put an X.

Our fourth time here. Not for its fancy amenities, it is quite rustic. But, for its historic charm. Price range is good, great location, lots to see and do in its historic district. I enjoy the century’s old architecture of this hotel. Book a room with a balcony
A stay here guarantees a feeling of being in the past. Sleeping with the sounds of horse hooves on the street with the horse drawn carriages going past the hotel, makes me imagine what life was like in 1610.
The Friday and Saturday night entertainment is a plus!
If all you seek are the same comforts of home. Stay home!

It's a classic and Nice hotel, it has around 400 Years, services, bar and restaurant are very good, rooms are spacious and confortable, but they have wooden floor, reason cause some parts are noise, high roofs so rooms are fresh, they have some couchs and conditioned air.

We have stayed here a couple of times on our last day before leaving the country. Location is very centric. Nice sites all around and hotel has a great history. Overall very nice.

The stay was acceptable but I have to say there were many drawbacks to the parking plus that in the room where I was staying the air conditioner was not enough for the city weather as it was a simple fan on the ceiling, it is also Important to add that the TV service is regular as it was a somewhat outdated TV but it proved useful to hang out, within the things that rebound is the decoration of the place that gives it a bohemian and stale touch besides that the location in the center D E The city is unbeatable, to these two points the rebound as something unparalleled and that give rise to a possible return…

Excellent place for a rich buffet type meal, with a pleasant atmosphere of pleasure and rest from one in the afternoon to seven in the afternoon every day, breakfasts from eight in the morning. Attended with care and kindness taking care of all the details for the diners. In Addition to beautiful rooms.

Weak Management, Large Rooms With No Air Conditioning & No Air Movement, Small Bathrooms, Old and Dilapidated bathroom faucets. Plus everyone else's comments. A/C is available for much more $. Great Location. The ceiling fan was quite but inadequate. The reciprocating fan was powerful and loud, reminding me of riding inside a turboprop: couldn't hear each other half of the time. We had to run it at night, which made sleeping difficult, even with ear plugs. Two or three English language channels (including HBO while they worked). Another dozen Spanish language channels. Ok Wi-Fi. Free water dispenser in the hallway. Nice beds and pillows. Definitely check SnapTravel, etc for better rates on-line than what the hotel is willing or able to offer. We were able to get a better, modern room with breakfast at Hotel Fenix, just a few blocks away, still in Centro, with A/C, amazing views, better management, Wi-Fi and clean, Large modern bathroom! Worth staying one night just to say "been there, done that".

As we paid for a room with jacuzzi and balcony to be comfortable and were given the worst, no windows, the jacuzzi did not work, the air conditioning also, a very dark room, the water pressure counted drops and the worst on one side there was a machinery that every 15 or 20 minutes ignited making a hellish noise that would not let sleep, when booking included breakfast and when you wanted to cash they washed their hands saying it was a page error, a very bad experience, zero recommended!

Very nice and the price amazing! Close to downtown and many places. The restaurant has authentic Mexican food and is cheap!

Excellent hotel, has a beautiful view of Guadalajara, has a colonial style, is one of the oldest in the city but that does not mean sloppy, is kept careful and with a very friendly staff always willing to help the guest.
The best thing about this hotel is the proximity to the downtown attractions, you can walk anywhere.

The hotel retains its old style from more than 345 years ago which I found to be exentious and magical upon my arrival!. I was a little surprised to see that the room that showed me the website at the time of booking was not the same one I was given when I arrived and checked in, however I could tolerate it. What makes me put 3 stars was the much need that makes them a good maintenance in the sanitary facilities, furniture and lighting. Its wooden furniture and bathrooms it seems that they have not put money in them long enough and frankly that type of maintenance is not expensive to perform it, because I dedicate myself to that and I know on average how much they would spend, the door of my bathroom stuck on the floor and the veneer was not worth. The focus outside my room (119) also did not serve, the varnish of the furniture and doors quite worn and the bathroom floor and walls stained with moisture. They are small details that would certainly make a big difference in the stay of your guests. If I would recommend it for your style attention of the staff and location, but it would be super helpful to attend those details :)

The hotel is very nice, it is in great location! It offers a tour of nearby places at very affordable prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived in the early morning and the person who received us, because we warned that we would be late, asked if there would be a place nearby to go for a bite to eat, told us that there would only be a place of burgers and I commanded to get us dinner. A very kind gesture. The rooms are very simple but the hotel is very nice. It's worth a lot.

A nice place, not luxurious but has the essentials to have a good stay. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The only thing I put in is in the restaurant area, the food prepares them with too much salt for my taste.

Excellent location, the hotel very nice, gives a feeling of great tranquility and with a terrace with a luxury night view. The only one but are the water pumps that are heard frequently, but from there on, excellent.

The ubication it's perfect just in the historic center, the rooms are cozy and de QP relationship are great.

Tsss I can tell you, very comfortable and the architecture makes you feel amazing, the treatment of all those who work there is great, besides being a few meters from downtown Guadalajara. On my next stay I want to be there.

A historic place but with poor service. Deteriorated facilities. However it is very well located in the heart of the historic center.

Originally, we were only going to stay one night. The place was very affordable and the staff both knowledgeable and nice. We had mariachi that night and some great mixed drinks at the bar. Rooms were on the small side but very clean. We booked an extra night there for the tours. Whenever we needed directions or where to get anything, they were more reliable than Google! When we did end up leaving they order a taxi for us as well.

She's an oldie but a goodie. You can tell it was renovated almost 40 years ago, and could use another renovation. But the fact that it's a 400 year old hotel makes it very accenting looking. I highly recommend staying here The Price is Right the location is perfect.

The restaurant is small but very nice clean quick service Ameno the breakfast very tasty and unbeatable prices well below any chain restaurant I will definitely return I recommend it widely a hidden gem in the historic center.

This is acceptable, like to spend 1 night or 2 max. The rooms apart from enpolvadas are in poor condition, furniture and even the toilets have complications. Makes a lot of heat (no Air conditioning) and fans are not enough, if you open the window you will eat the mosquitoes. In the bathroom I got to see cockroaches. With their advertising sells something that is not really. The only thing good is the location and the friendly staff. I would not recommend it the truth.

My husband and I just returned from a most enjoyable vacation in Guadalajara, staying at the beautiful Hotel Frances. I have read the reviews and wonder what people were expecting. We chose this hotel because of the history, the architecture and the location. And it delivered! It was centrally located… the history is everywhere you look… and the architecture is tremendous! The hotel staff… from the General Manager to the maintenance staff… are some of the most friendliest people we have ever met. This is not a luxury hotel. It is a "living/breathing"hotel. We met so many interesting people here. The people who wrote the prior reviews should have stayed at luxury hotels. We wanted to be where we could walk and meet with the people and we were not disappointed. We will definitely put this on our list of places to stay again.

Good price but keep your expectation low. Rustic. Lift doesn't work. Don't eat the the buffet it's processed fake food too high in salt etc and lacking quality. Good points — English! Valet parking. Fairly comfortable beds (good, not great) close to everything. Bathtub but. Enjoy GDL on a hostel budget.

The hotel is antique and gives you the history of Guadalajara. It is a great place to stay, yes some rooms t have only ceiling fans but open doors and windows and you'll be alright. Or upgrade to suite on third floor and you will have refrigerated air plus the views are to die for. The staff was awesome… Very friendly.

What can I say I loved the experience. Located in an old colonial hacienda downtown, it's the oldest hotel in town. Of course it comes with its charm. The interior is retro, the rooms are old style and the atmosphere very typical. It has an amazing roof terrace with view of the cathedral and a splendid bar/patio with Mariachi music almost every day. It might discourage some because it's quite noisy, but it's truly typical. Could improve a little the cleanliness and room decorations.

I was weeks ago with my dad and my sister and we deal with Pent House because they announce with kitchenette, but for surprise had not a utensil for cooking, not even a glass to drink water. And the hygiene truly disgusting: the sofa of the room broken and dirty, and not had nor changed the sheets and, the high, had hair pubic in them. The next day we ran there because it seemed to all be a stopover hotel.

It is an old building, that gives it a certain "charm". The time of waiting for recover the vehicle (because not has parking, but if valet parking) was excessive. The staff is somewhat indifferent.

The towels that I got were not clean, water comes out of the cancel that has in the shower, the key of lava hands does not shut properly and all the water drain, photos that announce your hotel is far from the reality, the space of the room is very small. The only thing salvageable is the location of the.

Very old and very hygienic. Book by a night and best return the key and I went to another hotel's popularity by the minerva. The photos that appear in the Web of Internet not are as them real look there very beautiful and clean modern… nothing that see with it. Reality.

In June, 2012 host me here by its history and separate so I had counted; Here is dead people many years ago and that frightened. As I don't believe what I have but experience it since I left here asking to run with the best of luck and see or hear something paranormal like. The early days of quiet until one night my mom ke was close to the window tells me"daughter already fall and take off of the balcony that you'll fall. "" and you answer. "I am lying" is very much scared and would can not sleep there but it went to my bed. On my last night there was resting would be like the 2 ' 30 am when I hear a noise in my cabesera and moves. " I scared both and are I enchino all my skin and my hair is me levanto. I stay immobile for a few seconds. I gave both panic that grip to my children, breast and to the 3 am call a taxi to the airport with tremendous storm.
That was my experience and not lie. There was no any tenant immediately from my room.
It was incredible and I feel privileged that happened that as much jente goes and does not pass anything and will be disappointed. Already very soon return and hopefully other ves I pass something so and although I panic I like haha.

He hotel has very good history and very nice the building, but the service is lousy, the receptionist very impolite seems that you is doing a please and them rooms leave much that wish, much dust and humidity, it cleaning not it make properly, them baths very old, with little water and almost never there is water hot, them basins parties, them knobs of it shower loose my great-great grandmother has a less old and TV with more channels than of you. Not is the recommend, it only "good" is is its location, but lousy service and rooms very very crappy.

The oldest hotel in Guadalajara. Hotel very economical for the area in which it is located, the rooms are well decorated, however the place is a little noisy, they let up a mariachi band to the roof, and this is heard all over the hotel.

Very clean, although is small the room is worth its cost, this super central and has all the basic services.

It is a comfortable place to just get to sleep, so I thought it best to gue its excellent location. Not very expensive but no breakfast included : (but there are studs in the back haha.

It's probably been 25 years that this place lucia in all its glory, today in day continues to maintain its colonial architecture made of carved wood, however it is sad to see that the place looks dingy because of the bad washing of tablecloths, the food offered by the restaurant firm are tasty, and I like the fact that someone serves and this way is more hygienic.

A very nice hotel with a restaurant attached very rich, but their Internet coverage is very poor, almost does not have electrical connectors and the nights are completely dark hallways.

The hotel has an excellent location and has all the charm of an old hotel. Including an elevator from centuries ago that is very slow, but that has its charm. The only bad thing is that it does not have parking and the valet parking is not efficient. Dependents are not sufficiently attentive. It is a problem if you go auto, as they will have to wait for the valet parking on a street where you cannot park or park in a public parking lot.

This hotel has the best Chilequiles. Make sure you get breakfast while you are here. Trust me.

It is a historical jewel of Guadalajara, and Mexico. A luxury and unparalleled comfort for rest and peace in the family, too bad it's over. I recommend the French Hotel that is central and is the starting point for many sites of interest in Guadalajara. It is an experience between the past, the present and the future because one wonders how it has happened to so many people, so much history of our country by this living monument of the Pearl of the West.

It is a beautiful hotel for its age apart from being the oldest in the city of Guadalajara I loved it and I will return. Very comfortable even though my brothers say frightening as it opened the single window :D so I'll come back to see what happens.

Definitely a legendary hotel. The elevator trips me out. Great service and great rooms great history. Best location for the price! It was noisy on the weekend, but they switched our rooms with no fees and no problems.
