Tamarindo B&B

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Tamarindo. The property feels very safe and secure. The manager Sonya is a natural—she was so helpful with offering suggestions of what to do on the island, as well as taking care of our needs. The chef Hector was a delight. He made delicious breakfast every single morning. I highly recommend Tamarindo and definitely want to go back again.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel, we had a 5 star stay — we even decided to extend our stay by an extra day!
Sonya the manager was an exceptional host, so welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. And Hector's breakfasts were truly delicious!
The hotel itself was beautiful with lots of different spots to enjoy and relax in and the greenery making it feel like an oasis. Our room was really lovely, spacious and comfortable too.
It's in such a great location too, convenient for the ferry port, restaurants and shops.
Would love to stay here again!

Tamarindo is a truly beautiful B&B right in the heart of Cozumel’s Centro, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful oasis tucked into the middle of the city.
Sonya, our hostess, was absolutely incredible—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. We couldn’t have asked for a better host, and she made everyone feel so welcome and at home throughout our stay.
Hector was an outstanding chef, preparing traditional Mexican breakfasts each morning that were nothing short of amazing. It was such a treat to start each day with fresh, delicious food made with so much care.
We had booked almost the entire property for my brother’s wedding, and despite having a large group, the space never once felt crowded. The property easily managed to swallow us all up while still feeling open, relaxed, and spacious—perfect for both gathering together and finding quiet moments to unwind.
The facilities were immaculate. The central pool is stunning and quickly became a favorite gathering spot, surrounded by beautifully maintained rooms throughout the property. The rooftop jacuzzi, complete with sunbeds, was a huge hit with our group and offered the perfect place to relax and soak in the atmosphere.
Tamarindo is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. We couldn’t have imagined a better setting for such a special occasion, and we would return in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommended.

What an amazing place and amazing people. Sonya was the best hostess we could have ever had. She was there when we needed her and was so lovely. Nothing was ever too much. Hector the chef just is so passionate about what he does and it reflects in the food he prepares. They both made our holiday into more than we hoped. We stayed at Hotel Tamarindo for three nights during our Christmas holiday, and it truly became one of the highlights of our trip to Cozumel.
From the very beginning, Sonya made us feel incredibly welcome. She is warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Every day, she checked in with us about our plans and offered thoughtful recommendations for activities and dining. She always greeted us with a smile, and her care made the stay feel personal rather than transactional.
One of the absolute highlights was the daily chef-prepared Mexican breakfast. Each morning, the chef put so much care into introducing us to traditional Mexican dishes, always beautifully prepared. The fresh fruit cups were a perfect way to start the day, and we really appreciated how attentive he was—asking about dietary preferences and explaining the cultural background of the food. It made us feel like we were learning about Mexico through its cuisine.
Although Tamarindo is a boutique B&B, the level of service exceeded expectations. Housekeeping was done daily, and our room was always spotless and well cared for.
The welcome handbook deserves special mention! it’s extremely well put together, with detailed recommendations, local tips, and practical advice that made navigating Cozumel easy and stress-free.
We were honestly surprised to hear that the owner is considering selling the property.
If we return to Cozumel, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast in Cozumel for my birthday weekend back in September, and I'm still dreaming about it months later! It was absolutely wonderful from the hotel staff to the atmosphere to just about everything! We've visited Cozumel for dive trips plenty of times, but this particular hotel takes the crown home for being the loveliest, coziest, and frankly, perfect stay ever! Thank you Sonia and Hector!
In addition, the location was perfect for enjoying Cozumel, and the hospitality truly stood out — it felt personal and genuine, not just like another place to stay. It was exactly the kind of peaceful getaway I hoped for to celebrate my birthday. I highly recommend taking a yoga class with Sonia, as well!
I would HAPPILY stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cozumel, especially if you’re looking for a charming and lovely experience.

We planned to stay just two days and ended up staying a whole week — and that's perhaps the best testament we can give about Hotel Tamarindo in Cozumel.
From the first moment Sonia opened the gate for us, we felt she also opened her heart. This hotel doesn't feel like a hotel — it feels like home.
Every morning began with a special culinary treat from the house chef Hector, who made sure to surprise us with unique Mexican dishes, accompanied by fascinating explanations about the food.
Sonia was there for us for every request and question, with a smile and genuine willingness to help. I started my mornings in the stunning meditation and yoga room, and we ended our evenings in the rooftop jacuzzi or by the pool, with a cold bottle of wine served to us as a gift.
The location is excellent — just a 10-minute walk from the pier and close to authentic local restaurants.
We hope to return to Tamarindo soon. A place like this is unforgettable.

This was my favourite hotel that I’ve ever stayed at anywhere. My husband and I came to Cozumel to go diving. There’s a fresh water wash station in Tamarindo that was perfect for rinsing our gear off post dive. We stayed in a deluxe room which was the perfect amount of space for us — big balcony overlooking the pool and gardens, and a large bathroom with beautiful tiling. When we weren’t diving the pool was a great place to relax, as was the the jacuzzi on the roof. Tamarindo is very clean, quiet, safe, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Sonya greeted us when we arrived and gave us great recommendations for sight seeing, shopping, and eating. She also set up a car reservation for us and transport to and from the airport. Hector, the chef, prepared beautiful and delicious breakfasts each morning. Because we had morning dives, we often didn’t eat lunch until 3pm — so we really appreciated having such nutritious, sustaining, and energizing breakfasts. Finally, the shared kitchen was perfect for preparing snacks and storing food throughout the day.

This is an absolut dream to stay at Tamarindos B&B.
When you walk into that door there is a calm, warmhearted vibe we loved it!
The breakfast made by Hector was absolutly delicous, everyday something newly made with love! We absolutly enjoyed the breakfast so much!
And Sonya is an amazing Host! She is always aviable for questions and helped us with everything we needed. All the recommendations were amazing from the B&B.
Also the Yogaroom that we could use was lovely!
If we ever come back to Cozumel we would definitly come back to Tamarindo! 💛🐠

Sonya made us feel at home! She was so responsive and friendly. Hector made the most delicious authentic Mexican breakfasts. The property was clean, absolutely beautiful and the pool was amazing. We had such a great time with them and can’t wait to come back!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Tamarindo for the first week of our honeymoon and it was absolutely lovely. Sonya, the host, was warm, welcoming and always available. We came to the island to dive, so we often left early and missed the normal breakfast window — she made sure we had fruit, yogurt, granola, and coffee ready for us at 6am so we could still grab a bite before heading to the boats. Such a wonderful experience, we will absolutely be back again!

I cannot find words to praise this place highly enough. Sonya is an amazing host, extremely friendly but professional with it. The chef, Hector, creates fabulous Mexican breakfasts, and he made sure to give us something different every day for the week we were staying. He also took care of my dietary needs (soy and gluten allergies) very thoughtfully. Delicious! The rooms are excellent too and the location is convenient, being a ten minute walk from the centre and the seafront. We are already planning our return. Thank you Sonya and Hector!

A truly incredible experience. Tamarindo is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle from the periodic crowds closer to the terminals. Our host, Sonya, is a bright light of a person and truly made us feel at home. The room was simple (just like we wanted! ) and very clean, and the grounds itself are lovingly manicured. The chef, Hector (I believe, forgive me! ), was sooo nice, and even made us a custom vegan dish. For the mornings we had early dives, Sonya left us delicious fruit/granola combos as a grab and go, very thoughtful! We were also very fortunate to have taken a private yoga session with Sonya who is a very talented yogi, highly recommended!
The pool, patios and honor bar are well maintained and very refreshing to hang out in after a day full of travels. Tamarindo gave us an amazing stay and we would highly recommend checking it out as an alternative to those behemoth resorts!

We just stayed here for the second time and we can't say enough about this wonderful place. The rooms are generous and tastefully decorated, we had a huge bathroom and our own balcony with a table and hammock. Hector served us amazing home-cooked breakfasts every morning and on the days we were diving early, Sonya left us a delicious fruit bowls in the fridge and made sure the coffee was brewed. We also treated ourselves to a personal chef's dinner one night, created with passion by Hector. This place really is an oasis and made our stay in Cozumel very special.

My wife and I agree these are the best accommodations we've ever stayed at. Typically we get out and go when traveling but Tamarindo was so peaceful we just wanted to stay and linger. Sonya and Hector are both terrific and their personal touch really makes the experience. While we were there in March 2025 we witnessed a real estate agent affixing her sign to the side of the building and she indicated it was for sale. I truly hope the new (eventual) owners honor the establishment as it exists today and continue building on its stellar reputation. We plan to be back!

This place is amazing and one of a kind. From the tasteful artwork to the perfect layout, this place has so much character. Sonya and Hector have made it even better with their warm and welcoming spirits. Tamarino is secure and secluded yet only a few blocks from the Main Street. Hector provides breakfast every morning and Sonya can schedule you anything from laundry to a massage in the yoga room. The pool is heated and great for anyone but it is also perfect for divers testing their equipment. The hot tub is located on the rooftop and it’s even more amazing at night. Words can not completely describe the experience you get when you stay here. We will be back!

This place is beyond extraordinary. It's literally a tropical paradise filled with warm, kind staff, delicious Mexican breakfast every morning, amazing heated pool, a LITERAL roof top hot tub with a bar. Seriously, I'm not joking. The breakfast is not to be underestimated — it is the best start of any day that you've ever had. It's a quiet environment in a friendly neighborhood with easy access to all the tourist attractions but also some room to breathe. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive in finding food and attractions and fun day trips to make the visit to Cozumel delightful and memorable. 12 out of 10, just go here and delight in all that it is.
