Review of El Cozumeleño Beach Resort 3*

This is not a RESORT! the only thing I can say nice is the photographer's in the lobby are great, well and the beach towels are good. I always want to post positive. This resort needs a new life! the towels are terrible, the bedding if you want to call it that, the beds are so uncomfortable, they do not have entertainment like they say. The seaweed is out of control and some even smelled/looked of sewage. The food is mediocre but the staff could care less if you are there. Seriously in Mexico and they only offered Jose and Hornito's tequila and that was IF they had any. The plumbing is a mess. We had 3 rooms and all had to have a plumber to shut off water, put on a new shower head etc. You can't FLUSH your toilet paper. They don't want to give you a bottle of water they want you to buy it at an all inclusive resort. No fridge in the room, the services offered are not part of the resort and they do not hold to what they tell you. I am not a pool girl but it was too cold and the hot tub was 78 degrees! The towels if you can get any in your room are paper thin and the bedding smells and looks chewed on! The safe is very small, they still use a room key, they say they have a disco and entertainment well if they show up it lasts about an hour. You can't find any sandy beach and the beach chairs are so worn down you can feel every bar they are made with. I have been to many resorts and on many cruises — pure disappointment! was actually ready to come home. Same food 6 days in a row, drinks are pure sugar and the napkins may as well have been toilet paper and would have been better than what they provided. The ONE dinning room is very nice but from there it is buffet! will NEVER recommend this place to anyone! All the work out equipment is broken and very dangerous, the massage was called deep tissue but it was finger tapping and I even asked multiple times for a REAL massage thru the waste of my hour. You don't want to stay at the resort just want to get a taxi and leave and go to town to get away. Every guest was complaining. I went to leave the internet world but IF you want Wi-Fi good luck! Maybe a few minutes in the lobby IF you are lucky. The NEWER part of the resort is a joke but we heard the older part the rooms were bigger. Don't really care about that just need a bed and a shower as you don't stay in your room when you are on a Caribbean vacation. I know you cannot believe what you read and I did read reviews and wanted to think they were just being picky — NOT! Well the 3 rooms we had and the 6 of us made the best of it and we made good memories, but this hotel needs a complete overhaul or a new owner or something.
