Hotel Mar Adentro Oh what a place… please read to the end. I know it's super long but worth reading. It can save you a lot of money and spare your vacation. The architecture design of this place is beyond magnificent. It's amazing how one can have such a vision for a design. It's like a place out of this world. But unfortunately that's where it all ends. We had paid an astronomical price to stay in this jewel for 5 nights expecting service that would worth the money we paid. When we got there we could not stop taking pictures of this fascinating property. However, our experience during those 5 nights was way below any expectation. I give management 0 out of 10. Everything offered by the hotel is priced as if it is an upscale hotel. However, the quality isn't even within any close proximity to being upscale. You get a beautiful room with a gorgeous view but that's about it. They have a tub on the terrace however it isn't jetted or maybe the jets do not work. So, it's just a bathtub which is very awkward. We tried the only restaurant on the property for dinner the night we arrived. What a horrible experience. The food was super pricy and of no quality. I don't mind paying a lot for fine food. However no fine food was served. They don't know anything about fine cooking. It was merely a presentation somewhat impressive but not the food. When my husband didn't like his food, they were offended. We got charged for the food he returned back to the kitchen. The manager came and was upset that we did not want to pay for the returned food. There were no apologies that the food was not to his liking and he gave us a lecture about how the food was good and it was basically our fault we didn't like it. He wanted to know our room number even though we paid cash for our outrageous bill. They were very rude, unfriendly and non courteous to say the least. Next day we requested to speak to the operation manager of the hotel but we were told by the front office that they were aware of our experience at the restaurant. Again no apologies. The next day we asked to see the manger again, we were told she was not available. Until we left she never even acknowledged our request to see her. Our second observation, this hotel is so far from Cabo San Lucas. If you're not familiar with where everything is, this hotel is in Cabo San Jose which is a 45 minutes drive to Cabo San Lucas. The beach in the area is deserted and water is not for swimming or any activities. We were told it was dangerous to even approach the water. Black flag is on all the time. The hotel is almost vacant. They told us 30 rooms were occupied out of more the 200 rooms. We could only see 4-6 people. I think they were the same people. No activities, no entertainment the place in my opinion is dead. Drinks are ridiculously priced (we paid $18 for a beer and $25 for a glass of local Mexican wine) We went out to dinner every night which there were very few options in the area as it is a very secluded area and in our opinion not set up for visitors. In short, I never went on a vacation and was counting the days to get back home. As for the architecture of this hotel, just go online and amuse yourself with the posted pictures of the property. I have to say to the architecture designer, great job but unfortunately you picked the wrong place to build your amazing creation To travelers we don not recommend this place because of poor management and far proximity from the main attraction of Cabo San Lucas. The hotel manager that we never had the pleasure to meet is Jeraldine Luna. If you decide to go to Hotel Mar Adentro, make sure she's not running this place before you make your booking. To be fair to the staff, I would like to thank our room attendants and the valet parking staff. They were excellent. Gracias Amigos.
