This facility is only scored 3 because there were a few things we liked about the location such as the views. We, however will not return to the Raintree Regina Vacation Club location again, nor would we be recommending it to others travelers we share information with on a regular basis. We arrived after 3pm to a really great view of the hotel on the side of a rocky type of mountain side. The personnel were great at check in to the Raintree Vacation Club. The representative, Andrea, gave us decent information as to the "to do" type of activities in a small packet. She also invited us to a breakfast on Saturday before we were to depart. We found that we were offered $100 dollars, but received something called "RegiDollars" instead. The $100 RegiDollars was worth $87.33. RegiDollars is funny money. The house keeping services were okay most of the time, on at least two days, they forgot face towels. This is a 3 star operation. They did bring flowers to our room on the last day of our stay in the vacation club. We tried the Altura Grill which we enjoyed with our server Angel. He was professional and always patient with us while we were ordering and sampling the menu at random. We did not like the first Mexican buffet and thought it was just a bad day for this restaurant. No taco… no burrito… no enchiladas.? Wait… this is Mexican Buffet Night? Right? The next fiasco, was Grill Night Buffet. This was not good nor as anticipated and the service wasn't five star either. Both the chicken and the beef was undercooked. The barbecue sauce was simply pork and beans sauce with some of the beans sparsely located in the sauce. There was brown gravy served with the meat. Why? This Mexican Buffet Night and the Grill Buffet Night was awful and a complete waste of money. Scoring the restaurant alone, it would get only 1 star or 2 stars at the most for other efforts in meal side items presentation for the buffet. We did stop by the Mini Market to check out the facility. It is small and expensive to try and stock up for a few weeks at this location. In addition, they only have the very basic of items. The transportation operatiion of the front office was pretty good about moving us around the complex. We came to find that walking the area was a great workout. This workout was in lieu of the fact that this vacation club does not have a fitness center on site, but relies on the Westin's fitness center. The Transport vehicles only go as far as the main gate for the Weston and Raintree complex. The last quarter mile walk to the main street to catch a bus is on you. The bus rides are 12 pesos a piece. The adjacent beach is a spectacular for viewing and night sounds, but would literally kill anyone if entering the water for swimming or walking. There is a flag system in place for safety, but we weren't aware of that system.
