I must have been the only guest on business and not on holiday. The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The three restaurants were great and the beach and spa facilities lovely. I wish I was on holiday to enjoy the facilities. The staff were great and went over and above to make sure I was looked after. Will be back.

An incredible place to spend a holiday, relaxing and feeling like you’re in a magical world. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

Where to start … let's begin with the positive point thanks Mr pravesh for the service very kind man and also show a lot of dedication to his job … He was very attentive, helpful and friendly thanks for keeping our room clean and make us feel comfortable … a very well deserved man. For the other staff they were also helpful, nice and friendly now for the room. the bathroom is too small there is only a bath tub so needed to shower in it thus it causes a huge mess in the bathroom and also in the bedroom water splashes everywhere. poor entertainment there is no lambiance get bored easily … for the restaurant. There is not a good variety of cuisine there are similar food everyday the taste are not that good beachcomber need to improve on this please add some Indian cuisine change the theme everyday maybe someday Chinese, Italian, indian, mauritian frankly speaking I preferred to go to the nearby mall pay for lunch instead eating at their restaurant. the desert was delicious I enjoy this one.

This Hotel is just so special that’s why we have chosen it 3 times for our family holiday. The staff is incredible and always friendly and helpful. The food is perfect day in and day out with a huge variety everyday. The kids are cared for and all the amenities are close to the pools so you never have to go far for a drink or something to eat.

Best holiday… The hotel is just great, every corner of it is very beautiful, the garden is so lovely😍and impressive… the beach just WOW! We had a very nice holiday at the hotel. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The buffet is varied and good. The rooms are spacious and clean. Room service is well the fridge is always updated. But there is only at the same time a small problem. During this pandemic period, the control of the wearing of masks by customers during meals should be more rigorous. Given the number of managers who walk around the buffet this should be possible🥴 We find this unacceptable. Because we want to protect others as well as ourselves. There are rules posted at the entrance of the restaurant so you have to enforce them. In addition it is a lack of respect for the staff who wear the mask all day. We think that there you really have to put the holla! And quickly.

Have visited 4 Beachcomber hotels. As far I've choosen Canonnier for best service and also I've appreciated the Staff members. Excellent food and Clean room. Best one for Family Time.

Most useless and laziest service I have ever had. I’ve stayed at multiple hotels on the island and this is by far the worst. Local Mauritians constantly getting served in front of us despite waiting patiently. We booked all inclusive, it’s 4 star and then we get told we have to pay cash to play pool/snooker……why would you bring cash to a 4 star all inclusive hotel. Boat house only opens at 9am, staff arrived late. Can’t go paddle board early morning. Kids club opens at 9am, can’t leave your kids there till 10am. People unfriendly and unhelpful. Get told drinks are not all inclusive but the menu says they are. Know one knows anything. Speak to the manager and is just unhelpful and says he will take note but can’t help us right now. Disgrace.

I had spent our family holiday with children and grandchild here. The facility is very nice and well maintained. The room service is very nice and polite. The food in the restaurant very well, great and attractively constructed. The drinks service was good — but has air up.
Who did a great table service was Svetlana and Bradley. Congratulations to such good employees, who have simply noticed very positively in their way.
My daughter had her baby with her at the age of 10 months, but she fell ill after a week and got a real fever. Upon request for a doctor at the reception, he was in the room after half an hour. He was diagnosed with streptococcus and with the drugs handed over, the little one was clean again after 3 days and was able to play again and eat solid food again. Really great that there is a hotel doctor on the property!
What was a bit annoying were the stand salesmen — although if you stayed clear, who politely ask daily and leave you alone after a clear no.
We would go straight back to the facility. Even my daughter-in-law, who has to live gluten-free, had gluten-free bread. I was really surprised. Mr Nunkoo even had her prepare extra dessert, which was gluten-free. Tip — Top — pleasantly surprised.

Our stay at Le Canonnier was amazing! We came for our honeymoon and stayed for 3 nights. We did get the all inclusive package, which comes with some great perks! At the bar, ask for Gogi — he was so friendly, made the best drinks, and really made us feel welcome in Mauritius. The rest of the staff is great as well! Our room was beautiful, the views are amazing. We wish we could stay longer!

What a fabulous place, and the service was exceptional from all the team. We were a family of 6, aged from 12-80 years and there was something for everyone. The only issue were had was a lack of evening entertainment for our older 2 teenagers.

Welcome from real hosts and we felt pampered for the duration of the stay!

Perfect for couples and honeymooners. Lovely thatched roofs with winding pool and beautiful beach area. Watersports near by. Great restaurants and amenities. Refurbished rooms are stunning, although not particularly big. Well worth it! Definitely take the all-inclusive option, as paying individually would get expensive quickly.

Where do I start. We spilt our time between here and the sister Resort Troux Aux Biches.
Delighted to be picked up by Vansh an easy 1hr drive from the airport. Arrival and check in was seem-less and warm. Seated with refreshments and a large smile. … Our room was quickly designated, I loved the beach white interior. Great large bathroom
with a bath, a baby crib welcome macaroons and fruit a lovely lounge to spread out and a wonderful water view balcony. Remember to tip, us Australians are in tune. We made it in time for dinner, though our wriggly baby was eager to move after a big flight. A great variety of food at the buffet — I love buffets for children fast and easy. Also a great way to taste some local dishes you normally would be shy to order. Morning views were glorious! shades of pink peaking through the clouds and sparkling rays off the water. A dream. We explore the resort, with lots of little pockets to relax in uninterrupted.
A wonderful kiddies pool and large adults pool. Each morning I would notice the staff up and maintaining the property.
Lots of seating for breakfast and again a great selection for a picky bub. Staff are quick to help or even chat, I loved their friendliness.
The bar was gorgeous! I wanted to pack up the chairs and bring them home. Fantastic cocktails and sandwiches. A play in the kids club excites our bub with lovely staff a variety of activities. Want to hit the beach?

We stayed for the third time at the gunner! We are always as satisfied and every time we stay we make an incredible encounter. In particular, we wanted to thank the Adil (restaurant and entertainment manager) for their kindness and for all that they could do for us during this stay. The hotel is just beautiful, we will definitely return!

On the first day we were given room 123, arrived after the long journey very tired and entered the room I found a tremendous smell of mold.
I haven't slept all night
In fact, in the night I contacted my tour operator describing the problem.
It is impossible to leave the window door open in the night being on the ground floor… in an attempt to change the air.
As the problem was known
following the protests we were given room 531 on the first floor.
No smell of mold more dry and breezy room.
Both in the first room and in the second room you will find ants everywhere, even in the bed.
I found the relaxation area very nice with a decent pool and a beautiful palm garden.

I liked the beach, but beware of the stonefish, I risked to beat one… The holiday would have ended there.
There were 12 days with my 11-year-old daughter, I don't think it's a facility suitable for families with unique children, little chance of finding other children of the same age.

We just spent a few days in this hotel where everything went wonderfully well. A big thank you to Jayshree who was really great with us.
The setting is really idyllic and magical. Very nice beach equipped with deckchairs and parasols. A lot of charm with this little wild side (some rocks so presee little shoes special bathing).
The staff at the hotel are very careful throughout the day, which made our stay more than enjoyable!
Several restaurants that will appeal to the greatest number. We really eat it very well.
Close to Grand Baie to go for a stroll and shop. Do not hesitate to take the local bus, stop nearby.

This place is a place of dreams! You are treated upon arrival like royalty. The rooms are clean and beautiful and the beds amazing. The staff always polite and willing to help. The foods are just out of this world. Loads of different activities to do! On land and on to in the water. Amazing stay and will recommend it to anyone that wants a lovely vacation in Mauritius. Very friendly staff, great food, nice beaches. Many sports activities, however, due to high waves were often not possible to use (water skiing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, Standup paddle, kayak, sailing). 5km distance to the nearest shopping centre. Far away from the airport (approx. 1h journey time by taxi). Rooms are clean and well maintained. Good cocktails, wine expensive (1 bottle by 45 Euro). Most French-speaking guests. Overall very satisfied.

The hotel is friendly with a nice staff. A snag nevertheless on the main restaurant the Frangipani or the food is quickly repetitive. A show every night rather of good quality. I advise the family with children.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The hotel is HUGE but because everything is divided into small sections you don't really notice. The rooms are very nice and quite new. The staff is extremely friendly and helfull. The food and the drinks are amazing, very high standard for an all inclusive package. The main restaurant is big and a big noisy, however couples without children is typically seated at the pool away from "the worst of it". In addition to the buffet / main resturant there are several a la carte restaurants on the resort as well as wellness, message and various other activities. All in all, great hotel.

Hotel renovated, rooms very nice… but not very convenient. No place to lay and open the suitcases.
The buffet… you have to arrive early and hope that there is no party, style, New Year Chinese because there the poor staff is to the masses, overwhelmed and poorly organized… so much that we had to make dead end on the hot dish for lack of crowd around the different buffets! It's a shame, the buffet night was a mess. For the evening of Valentine's Day… ditto!

Me and my boyfriend, we decided to try it out with an all-inclusive package more package wedding be we got married lie I really ringrazare all the staff have organised everything to perfection grazzieee a lot to our sweet translator Giorgiette the wed planner Melani and Kevin have been flawless in everything from the flowers to the ceremony and the cake. The staff are very nice and super friendly always ready to satisfy every need grazieeee for the wonderful experience seemed to be the protagonists of a fairy tale… I could not ask for better…

Honeymoon in 2012 superb hotel. We had price the all inclusive formula. We have or enjoy the different restaurants of the hotel and all the different cocktails. The room was very nice. We liked the local and traditional dances and songs as well as the various activities offered by the hotel (archery, glass-bottomed boat, pedalo, Spa…). But the big highlight of this hotel is its staff (helpful, smiling and very professional)

Honeymoon in this paradise. The resort has just been renovated, the rooms are cozy and we were fortunate to have the sea view absolutely indescribable! There are 3 restaurants inside the complex, one with buffet (every day they propose different courses but always of quality), one is an Italian restaurant where all the staff speak Italian and the dishes are exquisite (recommended reservation, it is small and very frequented by customers), the last is the Navigator, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, absolutely our favorite: we had lunch and pancakes afternoon almost every day.
Near the swimming pools there is a bar that offers excellent cocktails (the Cannonier I think is to try), and if you are in all-inclusive you will often attend.
At the center of the resort you will find an amazing spa, you do not believe if you do not see it with your own eyes, it is built inside and around a tree!

I spend 18 days in this hotel, namely that I am an accustom of Mauritius (I've been around). I have a very good stay the geographical location of the hotel has no equal to Mauritius. For the rest I see lets discover.

An excellent spring restored very recently. … The duplex room sea view is just superb… the friendliness of the staff and young people at House Boat… Top.! water skiing, sailing, snorkelling… at discretion! The restaurant is perfect! cocktails at the bar… top too!
Nothing to say… otherwise we leave with regret this little paradise.

Very pleasant stay with a staff with little care… We had special attention as we were accompanied by our handicapped brother. Accessible for people with reduced mobility but it would be to provide access to the beach (through a sandy corridor piled up not to distort the site and the environment that is beautiful) to discover!

The beach is beautiful, the food is delicious and our room was very tidy, nicely decorated and spacious (with babybed). We would like to go back there immediately.

Absolutely loved our time at Canonnier. We decided to get married there, and was blown away by how well it was organised. Staff are all amazing and very friendly. Food is perfect and regular, you do walk away with a few extra kilo's around your waist when you leave. Would def. Go there again. Mauritius offers allot to do. So we will be back to explore more.

In principle, I have to say in advance that the hotel will be completely renovated in the coming months and that large parts will be rebuilt. That is why I do not want to go into detail about the current condition of the rooms. We chose this hotel because it offers suites with two actual bedrooms and two bathrooms, imho important when travelling to children. Most other hotels usually have a bedroom and the other bed is a pull-out couch. That's OK for one to two nights but not for longer. The hotel complex is fantastically beautiful and because it is located in the very north, you have sun on the beach all day long. The food and drinks in the restaurants are very OK and in the evening there are still performances at the bar such as live music or dancing, which are really good in quality. The staff (both at the reception and in the restaurants) are very friendly and anxious. There is (clearly) fluent English and French-German rather less so. The operation is sometimes a bit chaotic, although the staff really do not save, the order process often works a bit sluggishly. Until waiters become aware of one and the ordered drinks are then delivered, it is often a test of patience. A real shortcoming is the availability of beach loungers. There are objectively too few. When all the loungers are occupied, there is no longer any supply where you could pick up some if necessary. Then it's just wait.

Absolutely beautiful. The facilities at this resort is first class. The personnel seems to be a bit up tight, but if I look at the security I guess there is a reason for it. Worth a visit.

My first time in Mauritius and an impeccable hotel to stay at. The activities on offer cater for everyone from the adventurous to those looking to relax. The staff is very helpful and accommodating of questions and will assist in making changes to plans if the weather acts up. Definitely returning there soon! The only areas I'd flag are the Wi-Fi and occasionally rude staff members. But even those weren't enough to ruin a good trip and hotel.

The discrimination is real. Lovely setting but some of the staff have problems and are racist misogynists. Pretended that they could not speak English to me but then proceeded to serve the people behind me in line in English. Then said that I could not handle waterskiing because I'm "just a little girl". Worst experience.

Very nice hotel, well located with a private beach of quality. The restaurants (buffet or table service) are very good. Spaces "relaxing" and "bar" are perfect. The proposed activities are of high quality as well as the mini club (vibe pirate). Only downside, the rooms of which some (the DRC are very wet).

No swimming because the lagoon is too shallow.

Beautiful hotel plant directly at the sea. The Buffet is good, if there is better in Mauritius (then you pay more). Room with a Ping-Pong table. For snorkeling, the next season, not super-suitable.

Amazing honeymoon at the hotel. For starters the welcoming was really enjoyable. Perfect sea-view from the room. Calm, quiet and clean. The food was excellent. Beautiful beach easily accesible from the hotel. Wifi was available and free.

This property is very nice but there are just details to do: 1. The old village of more than 20 years. It has been "refreshed" recently, but no major changes. 2. It is not suitable for a honeymoon. There is no attention of the customer, the rooms are made the minimum necessary; 3. Small rooms. The standard rooms although a view of the sea, are small, there is no bidet and the shower is very awkward to do. 4. Food very mediocre. Although it is a structure beachcomber, is very mediocre, all-too spicy to hide The taste, choice, apparently a lot, but in reality it's the same stuff repeated at the other sauces. 5. Le Canonnier has 3 restaurants but… the first one is the buffet, which as I said before it is a little of quality and quantity after the 2 day tired; the second is the Navigator of the sea, very nice place, but in spite of said to be "a la carte" menu is a set menu that repeats without the possibility of choice, some dishes in the buffet arranged only in a better way in the pot; the third is the serenade, and is said to be Italian, but of Italian, here there is only the name. 6. The beach is not the best, full of pebbles, point, sea, not suitable to the bathroom. Went for honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Fantastic service. Amazing food and a wide selection to actor for any preference. Relaxing theme. Awesome cocktails. Great tanning beaches. More than enough activities on offer. Good walking distance from great market town. Only problem is going for dip in the see as its a tad rocky but managed just fine going in to cool off.

We stayed in a very comfortable Family Suite with a sea view. The cleanliness is good and the Service is top notch; we have never experienced such nice and attentive staff, absolutely authentic, of course. The entire facility (and the pool) is very tastefully decorated, extremely well maintained and can feel a home. Fantastically is how attentive and affectionate to a person is taken care of. Special thank you to the dedicated Kevin Narainsami at the front Desk, trying to our very individual needs! The Spa area is a dream and very knowledgeable people operated. The buffet in the morning and in the evening is varied, also the a la Carte Restaurant in a cute and a change. We very much enjoyed the subtle live music in the evening. We recommend "all incl. ", since you like to sit in the nice open on all sides Bar, coffee/tea lunch/afternoon, Aperitif/Degistif for dinner, and besides, The Cocktails are great and the selection size (normal price about 10 Euro). The tennis area is good, if you like you can learn archery, the pool tables are in perfect condition. The beach area is very well maintained, but since Mauritius is of volcanic origin, rocks on the beach, therefore, also the Volcano, and not only long and wide sandy beaches. The water sports offer is great (snorkeling, para-glide, water-skiing, ), but the diving base, we recommend (we made 3 dives).

A beautiful little hotel in a quiet area. The service is very good; the letter is somewhat sparse, and the wines are expensive, but all in all a great experience highly recommended. The only bad thing: the general custom of putting the music in the common areas, although at least it was nice and smooth. If you do not put background music, you only hear the sea and the wind.

This place is perfect for families because it has nice places for kids to swim. The hotel is nice and the staff is friendly. I would have rated it higher but after seeing a tray of food still outside our neighbors door for 3 days straight I decided to give this place a 3 star rating.

Really great place for an all inclusive getaway. Water activities were ok but could have had a wider selection. Very family friendly place and not meant for a romantic getaway due to a lot of little kids running and screaming around the pool and bar. Food at the buffet was decent but after two days the selection was repetitive. The hanmade ice cream was definitely the best part of the dinner buffet.

Been there for a team building activity by Abc Motors Co. Ltd, was very fun and staffs are very welcoming. Foods abundant and pool was so nice. I recommend this hotel to anyone planning to get good holiday. Thumbs up.

I liked how the grass was soft barefeet, clean white sand, clear sea, constant singing of birds, seemed a paradise.
Always smiling staff ready to fulfill your every desire, had a great meal and a show in the theatre every night!

The best holiday ever. I have been to Thailand, Bangkok and Phuket … but nothing can beat the wonderful service at Le Canonnier. I think I shall be returning to this wonderful place soon in 2016.

Sublime. We went there 5 years in a row. The staff is courteous, friendly, excellent cuisine with many specialities based on the theme, entertainment, pool, beautiful beaches. Heaven simply.

Hotel and room very clean. The service and food were absolutely top! The beaches are also clean. While bathing slippers are a must. For many top hotel a role model.

Rooms without the dots (painting) but lots of images in the hotel. What a pity. Lie on the beach and swimming pool without the possibility of storage, everything lay in the sand and was taken in the hotel room! No seating in the room for a third bed! No drying facilities for wet bikini or T-shirt on the balcony. Super fine dining us very nice.! Only small flaws to recommend otherwise. A good ALL inclusive package.
