Needs Repairs! My company made the reservations for me and they usually do a decent job. I have already contacted my company and we will not be sending anymore people to stay at this hotel in the future. The good parts of my stay: The front desk staff have been nothing but delightful since my first check in experience. (I found out later its because they have empathy for anyone staying here. ) The Breakfast that is included is actually a decent buffet selection of pastries, rolls, eggs, omelets, juices, coffee etc. Enough there for anyone to enjoy. The breakfast staff are delightful as well. Very accommodating! The views are amazing, ocean front, pool, small beach and amazing sunsets. Thats it. The bad parts of my stay: The Rooms: — Smelled of mildew and smoke. I changed rooms several times during this stay and but no matter where I went, every single room smells of musty mildew. — Air quality is horrible. I woke up every day with congestion that would alleviate after leaving the hotel every morning for work. It only developed at night when I slept there. You can actually get physically sick from staying here. I do not think they have ever changed their filters on the A/C units as mine was non-existent. — The furniture and the room in general is NOT RETRO. I wish people would stop posting about this online. It is very misleading. When you stay in a Retro hotel, it is upgraded with new (CLEAN) amenities that give a retro feel, but its not using the same moldy, musky furniture. It is stuck in the 1970's. They have not changed out the furniture, the beds, the sheets, the curtains, lamps, fixtures or anything since the 1970's. And the whole room smells like it. Absolutely disgusting. — The sliding glass doors are NOT sealed and do not close all the way. This leads to a host of all kinds of other problems that people have complained about ie. Ants, roaches, mosquitos, humidity in the rooms, smoke from other peoples balconies flowing right into your room. — There is water damage everywhere. Not just in the rooms. The carpets are disgusting as a result. The floor boards are damaged, the furniture is damaged, the walls are all cracking and flaking off, the paint is chipped and flaking off also. — The toilet button to flush would leak water every time you pressed it and was broken. — The Water Temperature is not consistent! PLEASE BEWARE: The shower temperature fluctuates all by itself. I was scalded several times by the shower automatically changing its own temperature. This can cause serious injury. If this hotel owner does nothing else to improve the conditions of it, at least FIX this problem. This is dangerous! — The beds are very very old. Rock hard and completely dilapidated. — Room service walked in on me several times without knocking. Not a big deal for me, but definitely might be a huge concern for others. — Lucien, the bartender, was not only rude, but refused to serve me because I was working in the lobby on my laptop. (It is The ONLY place to get reliable internet for work. ) What else am I suppose to do? He then held the whole experience against me the rest of my stay by purposely going to everyone sitting around me (who were locals) and asking them for their orders and completely ignoring me and my requests. I am a guest here right? I pay to be here, not to be harrassed and then Ostracized! When I finally ordered through another service staff, Lucien asked me if I could move to in front of the mens bathroom located down a dark corridor. Are you serious? I can put up with a dilapidated, out-dated hotel that needs a whole re-model, but to then slap your customers in the face with a bartender that goes out of his way to make your stay unpleasant, this is absurd. — The hallways are enclosed but they also have sliding glass doors with the same issues. They dont seal, there is water damage everywhere you look, the hallways smell of mildew and mold. — Theres NO Coffee maker — Theres NO Ice Machine — Theres NO Iron — Theres NO Microwave — Theres NO Refrigerator that works.
