What an amazing experience! We were there for 4 nights. The staff is simply amazing! Not one thing I can think of as a negative! The restaurant is also great with super friendly and thoughtful staff. The bar is amazing. And it’s just soooo beautiful!

Sheer paradise, excellent attentive staff, variety of spots to enjoy the beach and snorkel. Few excursions and water sports available. Excellent accommodation whether it be over water bungalow or beach bungalow. You’re have either sunset or sunrise view. 5 stat.

The island itself and surrounding seas can only be described as paradise. Add to that the staff, who are all truly amazing and couldn't to enough to help and look after us and the you the makings of a holiday that will give you memories to last a lifetime!

Veligandu is an amazing place for vacation. The view from water villa was great. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The food was good (we are vegetarians, and had a variety of choices). Anyone who loves the beach, will love this place.

The best resort we have ever been to. Cannot fault one thing. The food is to die for, staff very attentive and everything is spot on.

Had our honeymoon from 16th till 20th.
resort was thoughtful after knowing it's our honeymoon, they actually decorated the bed and gave us champagne and some choc for 2 nights to our surprise.
amenities were also very well covered and unlike everytime we go to a hotel, they dont use "cheap" soap.
towels as well… … too long to write, but definitely will come back if theres a chance.

Loved it! All inclusive package is a must. Great snorkeling — lots of fish, sharks, sea turtles and manta rays. Staff are very friendly. Great place to relax regardless of the weather. Food is great. Negatives aren't even worth mentioning.

July is an absolutely wonderful time to visit Veligandu. Don't worry about weather forecast, the weather is sunny all the time :) Water Villa's with jacuzzi are a paradise. Staff is very humble and polite. The service is quick and food is delicious. Plane transfer has a lot of delays and Veligandu has their own time, which is 1 hour faster than Male. Would love to come back here! In all a stunning experience!

Fantastic island and my 3rd visit to the Maldives. The staff were lovely and the setting great. I just wish that they split the large restaurant into two places as feels busy and a little impersonal when compared to the rest of the island. The food is exceptional though as are the rooms. Please stop serving plastic straws all the time!

We stayed at Veligandu for 6 nights in June of this year (2018). Our overwater villa was clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom and wonderful private deck with steps down into the water. The breakfast lunch and dinner buffets were huge, with a wide variety of freshly prepared food and cuisines from multiple cultures. The bar had a great selection of drinks and light snacks like sandwiches and spring rolls. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We felt well taken care of from the time we arrived to the time we left. The Maldives are every bit as beautiful as you imagine and Veligandu is a great place to experience this unique tropical area.

Beautiful surroundings. Good accommodation. Was an adult only resort but no longer which is a pity. Hours are quite limited for dinner. Starts at 7.30pm. Snack selection is very limited with all inclusive package. Free wind surfing lesson was disappointing. The food is excellent. Snorkeling is amazing. Saw shark, turtles and amazing verify of fish. Also a giant moray eel as well as a Eagle ray. Staff are very friendly.

This is our 2nd time in Veligandu and probably not our last. It’s a small island with beach and water villas. We prefer the beach villa so you can walk onto the beach and sea if you like to. Our villa was on the west side with unlimited view of the sea and the sunset. The staff at Veligandu is friendly and attentive, the food is great, specially the wok corner. The island is clean, quiet, everything you need to relax. Thank you, Veligandu, for, again, a great vacation. We’ll be back.

Veligandu is a lovely place, with lovely staff and lovely sceenery. The first time I visited Maldives, it was an unforgettable experience. Regardless of the environment, the waiter, the food supply gave me the desired satisfaction. Free massage for 15 minutes

I have stayed at the resort almost 5 days and it was delightful. You have to get the sea plane from the velena international airport and it will took around 35 minutes to this blessed destination. At the reception you will welcomed by tasty fruit juice and smile. Rooms were specious, clean and calm. View was amazing. I heard that this was categorized as a "Adults Resort" since its not allowed for children, which make perfect place for romance. I enjoyed the resort and food very much, i'l definitely consider to come again for sure.

The perfect place to relax and unwind. All the staff always have a smile, and the food, taste and variety can hardly be overoffered! An island of peace and relaxation with great ambiance and great service!

We were on this dream island for the 2nd time. And as with the first time, the holiday begins with the arrival. Shoes off and let your soul dangle. Also at the 2nd time everything was great again. The warm welcome by Desiree and the drummers. The beautiful Jacuzzi water villa, the superior service that insanely delicious food and all, really all the staff always have a friendly smile… We would also like to praise the SPA and the diving centre. Both really top! I found the fun of diving thanks" Remo "and my wife was pampered in the SPA and was also very enthusiastic. Actually, we don't want to recommend this beautiful dream island, so that it remains our dream island, but we can't help but say, if Maldives, then only Veligandu! We'll be back…

Paradise is called Veligandu, with all its great staff. … the island is so great. You feel right at once. All but also really all have a smile on their lips. Great praise to those who make this spot a paradise. The food is top… it's worth every penny.

We visited Maldives for our honeymoon, and after reading many reviews on multiple sites, we decided to spend our time at Veligandu Resort. The resort is located approximately 20 minutes away from the airport by seaplane. Seaplane stopped flying before sunset and hence if you are flying in late, you may need to find a stay in a hotel near the airport. Veligandu contacted us directly few hours after I made the booking via Agoda. The arrangement was smooth and directions are easy to follow. All the staff at the resort are really very friendly. They are constantly smiling and asking how's our day whenever we walked past them — from the receptionists to the waiters and even gardeners! They can also speak in many languages and so you do not have to fear any language barrier. Our room was the Water Villa with Jacuzzi facing sunset. Water Villa is highly recommended. They are cleaned twice a day and maintained regularly. The view of Indian Ocean was so pacifying, and there are many marine life around the villa. During our stay, we spotted sharks, stingray, crabs and many other beautiful fishes around us. We snorkelled daily by just stepping out of the deck. For the Jacuzzi, it may be skipped unless you like to sit in a heated pool facing the wall or ocean (without much privacy). We stayed with a Full Board package, with 3 meals provided daily, excluding drinks because both my wife and I do not take alcohol.

Always happy to come back to Veligandu. Charming and lovely place to be. You will nice snorkelling spots just close to the Water Villa on the jetty side. Nice and relaxed staff. Just the perfect ingredients for a relaxed holiday.

When a place is worth it is right to review it well. And the Veligandu Vale! Staff helpful and friendly, ambience stately but not ' heavily ' luxurious. Restaurant with clear Asian flavors (read spicy dishes) buffet more than good with so many choices. Maldivian sea with a barrier a few tens of meters rich in fish (but dead coral). Very sorry to leave! Small nei: In the beautiful rooms on the water the furniture is not new; To get there you have to take the seaplane (which can bring as in my case to 4/5 hours of waiting, not because of the resort but that needs to be taken into account). However I would stay here again with my eyes closed!

The hotel and the surrounding area are top. But the transduction horror.
I booked a one-week trip to Veligandu Island Resort. After arriving on male on 04.10.2017 at 15:00, we have organized the 20 minute transfer that you described. This transfer was for us the bare horror. The flight could not be carried out according to the guide on site due to weather problems however, after a short shower between 16:00 and 16:30, it was normal flight operation again. Other guests could be transferred to the neighboring islands. The guide told us that no flights could take place and offered us an alternative to a hotel overnight in male or a crossing by speedboat. After some time, however, suddenly no hotel stay was possible on male. When asked if speedboats are safe to be over at night, this said no worries all quite harmless and pleasant and safe duration 1 hour. Unfortunately, the staff was also unavailable on site.  
Then the trip started at 18:45 at approx. Up to 3 m of swell the boat turned in the middle of the ride again, to take again guests from male. This horror ride then lasted about 22:15. Since my wife had extreme fears she was bewustlos during the ride and her blood pressure and her Bluzucker played crazy. We were scared to death. We haven't had a chance to eat my wife.

Dream Island! From the airport to the end of the stay they behaved extremely well, treated great!. The staff is very good and they form a great team.
The facilities can not be better cared for the truth that everything was very good! It is very worthwhile to take into account the Veligandu.
Watch out for the souvenir shop!

Velingandu is amazing! We stayed in one of the over water bungalows. The buffet was incredible — such a diverse range of freshly cooked foods and desserts. The beaches were picturesque. Went out on jet skis to one of the coral banks — totally worth it — we were surrounded by an overwhelming array of exotic fish. Staff were friendly. Cocktails on the house and very tasty. Fantastic holiday destination.

Everything is amazing. Moreover staff are so smiley and friendly. Thanks for everything… And meals are so delicious all of them.

Just got home only yesterday from our honeymoon. We really couldn't fault a thing. Our jacuzzi water villa 102 was amazing. Straight off our steps into the Indian ocean where we could see sharks, turtles, stingrays and many many other beautiful sea creatures. Sitting in dhonveli restaurant eating lunch watching dolphins play makes the amazing food seem even better. The buffet style food is a delight and so varied, with waiting staff that are so friendly and know your room number after one visit. We also had dinner on the beach which was another experience that was heavenly. Thundi bar is situated at the end of the island which makes viewing a sunset whilst sipping a drink or 2 just magical, again the staff are an absolute pleasure and even made a huge effort to get Man Utd Vs Tottenham on the TV for us to watch. From the time we arrived to leaving nothing was too much for any of the staff and I would like to thank each and every one of them for making our honeymoon in paradise more special than just the idyllic setting, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts xxx.

We stayed in Jacuzzi water villa. And the experience was just amazing. The property is also so well managed. Lots of trees all over the place. You feel like walking through Jurrasic Park. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. They provide free snorkelling and windsurfing sessions also. The Jacuzzi was awesome. Very relaxing. We could see beautiful fishes in the sea water just under our balcony. Through stairs in the balcony you can directly go to the sea whenever you want. It's a shallow water so till long distance. So it's very safe. We opted for Jet ski Snorkelling. Riding jet ski over a long distance in the mid of sea was awsome. And the view in snorkelling spot was breathtaking once in a life time. Bottom line, it was more more more and more than what was expected.

Great resort for perfect holidays, great diving possibilities with super dive buddies/guides. Absolutely to be recommended!

A Marvel a paradise, OWV open Walter Village with Jacuzzi, we pay for the all inclusive and it is worth it, there are small sharks and fish blanket a past of goldfish, the only regulation was when you get to male, which is the capital of the Republic of the Maldives, we were charged enough to fly on the seaplane due to overweight.

Absolutely amazing resort! Everything about this place was exactly what my wife and I imaged it would be; the amazing views, the friendly and well-spoken staff, the stylish rooms and after dinner entertainment all helped make our honeymoon perfect. I especially liked that the rooms would be made up multiple times a day, the staff never let the room mini bar go empty and ensured that any sand ridden bed linen was changed regularly. We would 100% come back to this resort again and highly recommend it to anyone considering an amazing holiday in the Maldives. Should you visit be sure to make a booking for the sunset cruise, it's truly breathtaking and gives a chance to potentially catch a sighting of some dolphins!

Wonderful courteous staff, an incredibly​ beautiful island, a good variety of excellent food, decent evening entertainment (not the main reason to be there) beautiful and incredible variety of fish to view while snorkeling directly from the beach, plenty of variety of drinks, both with alcohol and without and very comfortable rooms with great AC and beds. Access to a wonderful variety of water sports and easy to get to from the international airport in Male, Maldives. We had a wonderful time.

Absolutely worth it. It's a magnificent island no doubt, but the management's attention to detail and the attitude of the staff really take it to the next level. I spent 6 nights here and it was an absolute bliss. Easily one of the best trips of my life (and I have traveled a lot). Thank you Veligandu Island staff for make it extra special for me.

Peaceful, secluded resort with all the facilities right on the island. Excellent staff and good food. Resort has a well equipped sports centre too that teaches scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing amongst other sports.

It's a real no news no shoes resort, very relaxed and low key, untill you want something and then the staff are right there! The staff are very friendly.

Beautiful place to get away from the busy world. Rooms are very nice and comes with 2 life jackets. Amazing spread of food, but it would repeat after a week. I would recommend 7 days is a perfect period to be on the island. Please take the all inclusive package as liquor would be free otherwise it would be expensive to buy separately.

The island is the Paradise on earth. Everything is clean … the food is excellent. The staff first class and so helpful and accommodating. It's all perfect… would recommend to anyone.

A heaven on earth, very beautiful vegetation and very well cared for. Even with fully booked island very quiet, everywhere are available. The water villas are a dream the rooms very large and clean. The food is unique, admirable what a logistics behind needs.

Paradise. It seems to Me an amazing place, romantic and luxurious for a trip in couple. The water Village that they gave us seemed to me to film with direct sea access and total privacy. The. Rest… Like Robinson Crusoe in. The middle of the ocean. We did snorkeling and we saw a myriad of fish just metres from our staircase. This is one of those sites that if you can come. Bad… a little. Perhaps there is no evening entertainment at the. Use but for us the better.
