I first visited Pulau Kapas back in 1998, and again in 2011 and again in 2018. Sure the Island has changed a bit over these 20 years but it is still a lovely place to stay, peaceful and beautiful. KBC (Kapas Beach Resort) has not changed a lot (given the 20 years that have passed), relatively cheap accomodation under the trees on the beach in timber bugaloo huts. There is a resort if you want something a little better, but consider enjoying the natural charm of the Island. Getting there is easy, take a boat from Marang (harbour jetty terminal) for 30-40rm. The service is subject to weather conditions as they need to negotiate shallow sand bars at departure and the crossing over the open ocean can be rough in adverse weather, none the less, it only takes about 15 mins to traverse the 6klm over to Kapas. Be sure to make your return arrangements (day and time) in advance. We have hiked the river bed (dry when we visited) over to the east side of the island where a natural ocean plunge pool awaits after the hike over. Take plenty of drinking water with you as it can been arduous at times. Give the island a visit, you will be amazed at the pristine waters, live coral and island tranquility. Snorkel masks are available, although no fins are offered (this is to preserve the coral from mad tourists kicking wildy with little or no regard to the fragile ecosytem beneath). Evenings are amazing and if the sky is clear, the sunsets are absolutely beautiful.

It is so nice and serene. The boat fee is at RM40 back and forth, but you will get only RM30 if you booked online. The journey from jetty to the island only takes about 10-15 minutes only.

A paradise island. No Internet so to relax. Anyway there is a good signal with a mobile phone and data for those who need to be connected.

Less crowd, which is a good news for me. Fantastic beach and conveniently located near the jetty. However, proper maintenance and basic hospitality is definitely required to earn more stars.

Although there are a lot of islands round this part, once you've visited one you've visited them all. Still a pretty place though to chill and snorkel!

Kapas Island is just a 10 minute boat ride from Marang jetty. The sand is amazingly soft and the place is not too touristy. Hike some stairs to the other side of the island for better snorkeling. A great destination for a relaxing beach getaway!

Beautiful Island with great food served at JT Cafe always with fast service and a smile.

Snorkeling in the morning went bad, due to jellyfish. Hiking to Bukit Singa was cancelled due to the water level was still high at 9.30am.

Resort paling tkkan dilupakan. Aircond pun kejap ada kejap tkde. Pagi tengahari boleh la lgi. Ni dh malam nk tidur pun aircond buat hal lgi. Tikus lari lari dkt atas. Almari pun dh mcm apa. Tapi tk kisah la lawa ke tk cuma aircond tu kejap ada kejap tk. Then esok pagi nk balik air pulak tkde tu. Mana semua orang tk marah. Membazir byr. Haih.

I love. Mantap sekalii. Aq suka daerah itu.
