Friendly Staff. Beautiful Room. Clean.

Staffs are plain unhelpful. Asking to get iron to my room is so difficult 😑. Was asked to just go to 1st floor to do ironing. Even passing by guest, the staffs don’t greet you. Very lame. Room 320 4/5-5/5. p. S only the bed n slippers was memorable.

Last minute change from Standard Room to Premier Room after noticed on the open concept bathroom with Standard Room. The Premier Room is clean, comfortable and cosy. Friendly staffs and good service.

Really noisy staff kidding around and laughing hysterically throughout. Is a very unpleasant experience especially when trying to enjoy quite time at the restaurant after checking out. Can hear them all the way inside. Very very unprofessional.

Theft at this hotel and hotel staff was unapologetic after stealing from our room.
Our stay here was alright until we noticed that our bag of chips (a whole bag with 6 large pack of chips and other snacks) was stolen from our room after housekeeping was done! Even though chips are not something super expensive, the fact that the whole bag was taken without consent from our room is definitely not right! We called frontdesk to inform them about this incident, and their housekeeping staff came to our room to return the chips to us and said "I kept them (the chips) in our pantry. " We did not receive any form of apology. When we were trying to bring this matter up to the frontdesk staff, she didn't bother apologizing on behalf of the hotel either, and did not have any intentions to want to look into this matter. It is not about them taking chips it is THEFT from a guest room and that is UNACCEPTABLE It is obvious that this hotel lacks quality in customer service. Another incident that further demonstrates this is when it was raining heavily and we asked to borrow an umbrella, all the staff told us was that there was no more umbrella available as they've been taken by other guests. The least they could do (knowing fully well that they have an open-air car park) was to offer to shield us to our car with whatever umbrella they have. I will not recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family after my stay here.

Very classic n vintage look hotel… staff is polite, friendly, fast check in and out. Room so clean, like the bed, pillow so much. House keeping so efficient n friendly in providing slipers n hand sanitizer to us. Will come back again each time visiting Ipoh Town again. — с Nadia Brian GoldRing.

The staff are really friendly and they try their best to accommodate our requests. Not to mention ALL the staff I came across were helpful and efficient. The hotel is one of a kind. Completely unique and "a must" for someone looking for an extraordinary experience.

Recently stayed there on the 8/9/19 rooms were not as advertised not up to standard. Furniture old and accient, not hygienic as it's old, dusty and has a musky smell very very disappointed and unacceptable.

Everything was fine. But the after service provide are really bad. Called
one of the Male staff about our lost item which the staff commit to called back. And yes, they did not call back! how rule that is. Well. If you are planning to stay here. Good Luck.

I won't say much except that all the positive reviews here are perfectly justified. Wonderful hotel, indeed and the designers have gone beyond. You will even forgive them being tucked away from the city centre (10-minute walk). Sweet and lovely Chinese lady serving at the restaurant. Her smile is contagious. The breakfast is not that great (I am a food lover so for me the choice was limited) but it can certainly get you started. What's more, Ipoh has lovely unique places for food so the modest breakfast may be a plus actually. Would definitely stay here again.

There’s a right way to do “hipster” and a wrong way. These people did it right. You’ll feel like you’re in a warehouse converted into a hotel—in other words, a unique experience. You’re also near the Old Town and the famous Nam Heong hawker stall. My only issue was with the Old Town restaurant next door. Avoid it. (August 2018)

Excellent interior, very unique interior design for every level of guest rooms. Price is reasonable ~USD100 for the most expensive suite room including breakfast. You can choose whether you want a continental breakfast or local breakfast. What made it even more amazing was the food at the hotel restaurant. The food was super tasty and drinks were very nice too. Highly recommended!

Unique ambience with friendly staff. Room slightly small but with great atmosphere. L Location ok with Grab around to meet transport needs. Lobby has a slightly musty smell though. Other than that, no complaints at all. Highly recommended.

I chose M Boutique Hotel because of the unique concept and good price compared to others in Ipoh. My parents and I had a wonderful time at the hotel. We stayed at a 3-person bedroom which was very well equipped. There were snacks, 3 regular and 1 large bottled mineral water, a few packets of white coffee and the usual room hotel supplies such as toothbrush and vanity kit. I especially liked the robes that were designed to look like denim, along with the trendy black and white room slippers. The deco was amazing and it was enjoyable spending the night in such a quirky and creative room. We also loved the well-designed bathroom, even though it's quite small but it has all the things you need such as hairdryer, a nice big sink, shower and toilet. The western breakfast provided by the hotel cafe was excellent, the buffet spread had just the right amount of selections made up of various delicious mini bites.

What a great hotel! We truly enjoyed our stay at M Boutique Hotel, such a nice and quirky place, it truly matches Ipoh as a city — hipster destination! The owners of the hotel have truly thought of every single detail at the hotel, nothing is left without the attention, so much detail and character for every single function! Our favourite part of the hotel was brick walls! It reminded us of an area called Shoreditch in London, so cool and industrial!
The staff was super friendly and smiley at all times, the check — in and check — out was super speedy and they even kept our luggage for the day on our last day before our departure!
We stayed on 2nd floor, in a Majestic themed room. The shower was super powerful and hot, great toiletries provided too. The bed was extremely comfortable, with lots of pillows — just exactly how we like it. We've also received complimentary water some delicious local nuts. The air-conditioning was very silent and always at a perfect temperature. We've also noticed that there were tea and coffee facilities, unfortunately we never got to use it but in my opinion, it's a great touch to the room!
Overall, what a fantastic experience at M Boutique Hotel. We are super grateful to Joey from Sales Team for arranging us a wonderful stay in Ipoh. We will be sure to come back! We wish this hotel best of luck with their business! Keep up the great work!

Perfect hotel for me. Nice experience of checking in by a profesional and friendly staff. Beautiful design from lobby up to the room. Room are small but comfortable as it is completed with everything a guest would ever need! Especially the thoughtfulness of providing a bottle of 1.5 litter mineral water. They offer 2 type of breakfast to choose from either old town white coffee or in a western restaurant. Reasonable price. Would definitely come again if happen to be in ipoh.

Love the hotel designs and decorations. Love the clean, comfortable and cosy room. Love the complimentary local snacks and the 2 small + 1 big bottle of waters provided for your stay; and Love the staff go extra miles to make our stay a memorable one. We check in on my husband birthday; they decorate the room with balloon and birthday card and the front desk team greet my husband Happy Birthday during check in and check out.

Nice atmosphere. Although the room that we stayed it was slightly small, the place is very comfortable and service is good. Self laundry and iron is available. There is also a gym which is well taken care of.

Loved the deco mood of the hotel. Very Tim Burton. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Downside to the rooms was lack of Soundproofing of the walls, could even hear our neighbor sneeze. Booked a premium double room. The room had everything in even for the small size. But then again it was a little too small for me. Special thanks to Miss Fong from the Myth bar, who was more than helpful to serve our breakfast. All in all would definitely come again.

Very surprising hotel.
Although the room interval is not big, but feel the designer and hotel lies in the quality requirements of very high!
Especially to the bed and pillow is quite satisfied, for the plank modified wardrobe and table is very satisfied ~ to get the room when found in the elevator next to, the heart is worried about whether the soundproofing is not good. Thankfully, the soundproofing is very good, a sleep to the dawn ~ strongly recommend this hotel!

The interior design is very nice and unique. The staff, specially John wick, are friendly. Rooms are well equipped. Bars and restaurants are available in in the hotel itself as well as across the street. It is a bit expensive for Ipoh and considering the size of rooms but generally it is a nice place to stay and experience for at least once.

Stayed here several times already. Very pleasant stay and breakfast choice includes food from Old Town White Coffee. The receptionist is very accommodating and responds to your requests in a prompt manner. Recommended for Ipoh weekend staycations. Plus point — near town!

A very nice hotel with rustic charm. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We loved it so much, we return the day after.

Room is cozy and easily access, but the breakfast is not fantastic. But there's shops outside the hotel that you can have your breakfast! A short walk away and you can have breakfast at coffeeshops. Overall a good decent hotel to stay if you're in town.

We stayed for two nights, the staff were friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the showers are awesome. Be sure to upgrade though, initially we booked a standard room but thought it best to upgrade as the standard room lacks a door to the toilet! The gym is small but nice, good enough for a basic workout. Our breakfast was included, I wasn't really keen on the buffet, the coffee was way too strong and the food on offer was nothing really special; noodles, ham sausages, curry laksa… They had watermelon and honeydew melon though which was sweet.

I like the way of this hotel manage their business. First of all I thought I am walk in the wrong place. It is boutique shop with integrate the reception counter in the middle of two restaurant. The decoration is so special for me. Pictures tell the thousand words. It's value of what you paid for.

Spend 1 night in the Premier (Adventure) room last Saturday. The interior of lobby is beautiful with all the lights on. Everything outside the room from reception, lift lobby, Myth cafe to room hallway is perfect. I would say it's definitely Instagram worthy. However, I was little bit disappointed with the room. In terms of size, it is too small. Or perhaps my expectation was simply high. The window panel is dirty, seemed like never do any cleaning for quite some time. The space above the working desk is dusty as well. Not forget to mention about the smelly pillow on the couch. The aircon is a bit noisy (perhaps in need of some maintenance? ). Wi-Fi is slow like none. Would suggest to increase the breakfast varieties and provide a covered carpark.

Nice boutique hotel in a quiet part of Ipoh. Some good food around this area in case you are hungry. Room assigned is tastefully done. Only comment is the room is a bit dark at the bed part of the room. Will definitely be back but will request for a room with window.

Well appointed rooms with thoughtful personal touches that embody their tagline "come as strangers, leave as friends". Located in the quiet part of old town Ipoh. However, the dusty airconditioning filter and bath towels (lint galore) provided did my sensitive sinus no favours. That would be my biggest gripe about this place. There are 3 food options within easy reach, i. E. Check In (meh), Old Town Grand (heavy on the flavour enhancers) and Myth. The free breakfast at Myth was fuss-free and sufficient for my appetite. Service was attentive and courteous. Browsed the menu for lunch and dinner but didn't try. From the looks of it, rather standard fare but knowing they are linked to Jose & Deli, I would expect nothing but flavourful morsels that satisfy a growling tummy.

Nice hotel, staff could be better trained for tourism and it is a little out of the centre but as Uber and grab as so cheap it doesn't really matter. Best thing was the bed and the pillows so comfy!

It was really a pleasant experience staying in a boutique hotel. Nicely planned and decorated interiors will let you have a totally unique experience. Although situated in the old town but definitely worth spending a night or two.

Hotel is suitable for a perfect weekend gateaway. The breakfast choice is ala carte either in the nearby oldtown white coffee for asian food or myth bar for western breakfast. The Wi-Fi was not stable. The room space is small hence wont be suitable for parents with baby.

This was my 1st stay and I'd like to share the following reviews:
**Positive points**
1) Unique interior deco — cosy and some pretty nifty/creative ideas throughout the hotel.
2) I liked the bathroom design, as well as, how the WC and shower areas were segregated. Also, I like the adequate space provided for toiletries in the shower.
3) Lounge/reading/computer area — fairly cosy
4) Quiet location, fairly convenient — in between both Ipoh's old and new town
5) My sink didn't drain well. Called for housekeeping but whilst waiting, I managed to enlist the help of a passing staff (nickname Zorro), who attended to it. Cheers!
6) Another credit goes to 'Tony stark' (all staff have nicknames) who provided me with a map and brief recommendations of nearby eateries. **Negative points**
1) Overall service was lukewarm — poor in relation to the hotel's theme. The defining factor between boutique and regular hotels (aside from its size/deco) is its service, and the ability of the staff to make you feel welcomed. I did not feel so and felt the warm hospitality lacking. Without revealing names, one female staff responded briefly and didn't bother to assist when I asked for recommended sightseeing.
2) I'd asked for a Queen sized bed but upon arrival, was informed (coldly) that only the twin beds were available. What's the point of advance reservations then? And here was my 1st contact of 'cool' service.

Loved the room deco. It's very cosy boutique hotel. But it's an expensive one too.

Interesting property located 1km away from the historical city centre. Very helpful staff. Good food, with two choices of restaurants, one western and one local. Gift shop available, gym, business centre and laundry room. Large room or connecting rooms for families also available.

Everything is awesome, good space and place for the price and awesome service with cool names like John Vick and Harry Potter. Location is a bit far out from city centre but wit Uber everything is easily accessible. The Huber promo code MBOUTIQUEFAMILY is only available for first time users though. Kudos and keep it up!

Quiant ambience, it's no wonder this is a favourite venue for wedding photography. Details in the room were delightful. Small yet tastefully decorated.

There's a unique charm in every nook and crany here that you can't find in other hotels. You'll be delighted and find yourself happily clicking away taking picture for memories.

This is a beautiful hotel which served as a real treat for backpackers on a budget! The décor is shabby chic; the interior designer did a great job. Although our room was v small and had no window, it was still amazing; the comfiest bed I've slept in for 3 months. It had all we might need; kettle, water, tea/coffee, snacks, toothbrush/toothpaste, etc. We ate in the restaurant, Myth, at night. It was slightly more expensive than other places but we really enjoyed the food; my boyfriend's steak was awesome. There was an issue with the bill in that we had been charged 10 MYR more for soup than was stated on the menu; when I pointed this out I was told this was for government tax, although this had already been added at the bottom of the bill. I asked about it again the following day and was refunded. We used the gym in the morning; it's well equipped but we couldn't get the air con to work so the treadmill was fairly torturous in the heat! Other highlights were the use of a washing machine and dryer for free, a big reception where we could chill out and wait for our taxi, an attached coffee shop. I've highlighted some negatives but overall it's great!

Smelly room, noisy hotel, outside town centre. I never give bad reviews, this is my first. A historical event! Our room smelled like an ashtray. It's supposed to be a non smoking place but not everyone is aware of that "so sorry" the manager said, and sprayed our room with aircleaner. Now our room smelled like a soapy ashtray. No window could be opened, no escaping this smell. Besides: on the other side of the road is a music café where upcoming artists are playing. Very loud to compensate the quality. If you MUST stay in this hotel, try to get a room at the back. But take my friendly advice and book another hotel.

M Boutique wowed me when I first open the lobby door (which was hard to find at night). The deco from lobby to my room is captivating — ornaments, cool lighting and graffiti on the walls. My room is 325 which is a single room and has no window BUT it is compact and comfortable. You got to stay here to experience it. Did I mention they have a gym, self-service washing, dryer service and ironing service?

Room was small with little to no outputs (only 1 but was placed at a very awkward area), alarm clock didn't work, furniture was a little dusty, toilet was extremely cramp. However, the bed was very comfortable.

This hotel is so different from others that I have ever been to. I especially love the interior. The lobby is beautifully decorated and the staff is so friendly. The room is so clean and comfortable. Overall I really enjoy my stay here and highly recommend it to anyone who want to find a place to stay in Ipoh.

Awesome decor, with retro style feel, especially like to chill in the old town coffee, or the bar/restaurant here (name I've forgotten sorry). Downside is it's a bit pricey, but once in a while is great!

My first stop for my northern Road trip last xmas. Very comfortable and retro deco. Hopefully my next trip to ipoh can stay there again and the Wi-Fi upgraded.
