Room was clean. Plllows and bed are so comfortable! It was such a comfort.
Showers and toilet, though small, but wonderful!
A bit noisy from outside as opposite has food court and open singing.

Value for money… especially if you're using a car. Good location… Red Garden food court directly opposite… pity only opens 5 30pm till midnight… Blue Mansion also directly opposite. Local breakfast places however a little further…
Rooms spacious n comfy enough… no hot water at basin though…

Good standards, worth the price. One of the best hotels we been in penang.

Unfortunately loud at night and the windows don’t isolate the noise well.

Very nice hotel within walking distance of the old town of George Town. Staff at check in was very nice, as we booked on the wrong date and with an on refundable rate — but staff right away made it all work. Room was spacious and nice. The only downide: The windows are very small and the bathroom is very very small and has no AC.

Nice budget hotel for short stay. Need to cautious on the hot water in bathroom. Breakfast is good but almost same across all days. Staff are cooperative. Great historic building to explore uniqueness. Overall well maintained.

A newly renovated hotel formerly known as The Saratoga, it is a very good property located directly across the street from the Blue Mansion in Georgetown, Penang. It offers value for money and has been very smartly decorated with a distinctive Chinese flavour. Our welcome drink made with Soursop essence was so refreshing and cake and coffee we had during the evening was very good. One minor complaint that I did have was that the bed was a bit short. Otherwise, everything else considering the tariff that we paid for the room was very good. We would stay here again as it’s very well located.

A good hotel based on the price tier. Great location where you can just walk to a lot of tourist attractions and restaurants, all within walking distance. Maybe this is the only 3 star hotel that serves a welcome drinks.
The receptionist, the Malay girl are so friendly and has demonstrated a very good customer service etiquette. If the management are reading this, they should either promote her/give her some increments in salary/give some bonuses to her.
For the room, its clean & nicely design eventhough the building is quite old.
Breakfast — The buffet breakfast is nice with a few options, but you cant compare it with other 5 star hotels, its unfair to what youre paying at this hotel. Good seating place with nice music.
Cons — The F&B staff need to improve their services, they seems kinda reluctant in their job and the person seems annoyed when I request for scramble eggs, maybe the guys are from Philippines.
— During weekend or school holidays, in compound parking might be full as they dont have much of it. So if you come back late, you might need to park outside of the hotel.

When I arrived, I was impressed by the beautiful facade and stylish small lobby. However, no telephone in the room was a hassle, I had to physically go to reception for any request. No room service was available, and slippers were not provided unless requested. Breakfast choices were very very minimal, and my room’s view was just the wall of the next building. The kettle jug was not cleaned properly and there were a bunch of ants inside it. When I asked about room service, they simply gave me the restaurant’s mobile number, which explained the lack of a telephone in the room. I also had mosquito bites, which made the stay less comfortable. The hotel has potential but needs some improvements and fine tuning on the service side, this hotel could be much better.
PS: I felt over-charged during my stay for a standard room, Inclusive of breakfast for two. What surprised me was during my stay, I checked the rates through various booking platforms, and their per night was less than what I paid for a higher room category : (

This hotel is located at the edge of Georgetown & is within walking distance to explore the old town. It's cheap & easy to get e-hailing ride if you want to go further. There's a food court opposite the hotel offering lots of local food. The room is clean, spacious & comfortable. Buffet breakfast is provided, nothing mucg to shout about but you can get your morning coffee fix. The spread is basic but adequate. I wouldn't mind staying in this hotel whenever I'm back in Penang.

We were there in Feb and think it was newly opened. We got a pretty good deal. So being new, rooms, restaurant, lobby are clean and nice. Room is big and spacious, only lack space for luggage and hanging items. Breakfast is very limited though, wish they offer more variety. It was the same menus every day. When we arrived to check-in, the front desk staff noticed us but she was talking to another lady. We waited as we thought that she was also a guest. We stood there for a long time until the guard at the entrance came and inform that we were checking in. Apparently, the lady at the reception was the hotel manager or something. This should not have happened. The staff should inform the lady that there were guests wanting to check in. Neither of them apologize for making us wait. This was our issue with the hotel. F&B staff was friendly, we were given welcome drinks. Parking is very limited. Location is pretty convenient. Opposite of The Blue Mansion, nearby food court and laundry. I hope the reception staff will give more priority to guests, and the hotel manager should be more alert too.

This is a newly renovated small boutique hotel that took over an old hotel.
No swimming pool & gym.
Check-in is fast with welcome drink & afternoon tea voucher.
Welcome drinks is iced sour sop juice. Afternoon tea is refillable English tea & 2 pcs of snacks.
The one of only lift is partially renovated as you can spot the old lift ceiling.
Room is new and clean. However, the door has no manual lock from inside making it a bit unsafe as I did not spot any security guard around.
The front desk is manned 24/7 with English speaking staff who could recommend local attractions if asked.
Coming to the room, there is 2 small windows with blackout curtains and the room is facing behind with no views. It’s a blessing in disguise, as the rooms facing the front are subjected to loud live music performance happening every night from the Red Garden food court across the road from the hotel.
Bathroom with no window is extremely small comparable with Hong Kong hotel. However, water pressure is strong with hot water (remember to switch it on).
TV is large with many programs. Spilt air-con is cold & powerful. Lights are bright.
Shortcoming:
Not enough of power plug switches.
No night light leading bathroom. I have to use the LED lights & water heater light to be a very dimmed light to help to navigate in the darkness.
Nothing is in bar fridge. Although there is free coffee & bottled water.

Great location in downtown Georgetown but that has its drawback — too nearetsl crowded places where live music 🎶 can go on up till midnight (and slightly beyond during weekends) affecting guests who would like to have an early night. Breakfast starts at 7am — shud bring it earlier at least by 30mins if not an hour. Great rain shower in the bathroom. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating would seem fair.

A decent hotel providing nice view and accessible to city centre. Ample parking space provided and the decoration is very nice and giving a sense of warmth upon entering the premise. Thanks for the hospitality service provided during the stay.

Near to city, and very convinced. Friendly staff and fast check in. So impress about complimentary tea break and welcome drink. Room clean and tidy. Toilet clean.
Food:
Breakfast start 0730am. If possible better to start 0700am. Those fly back to home, they can take have a great breakfast before fly.
Room:
No mirror and no kettle. So difficult to comb hair and get ready inside the toilet, coz only one mirror inside the toilet. Cups and coffee packet have but no kettle to heat up hot water.
Hope our next visit, I expected some changes. Overall 3.5/5.

We had an amazing stay at The Leith and couldn't recommend it enough! While fairly new (so during the day there can be building work sounds but this never bothered us! ), it was a smooth experience throughout our time there and was in pristine condition. The rooms were spacious, stylish and clean and the beds were very comfortable as well. The staff were friendly and happy to help with any query we had and always had a smile to greet us when we got back 😊. Also the location is great with a food market opposite, and while not immediately next to the hustle and hustle (only a short 5 min walk away) this can be a good thing as it is quieter and feels more relaxing after a long day exploring the town. The only thing to note is that laundry isn't available on Sunday so keep in mind if you're planning to do any. Overall an amazing stay which was great value, and if I'm ever back in Georgetown I'll immediately book again!

Great location, responsive room service, clean and comfortable room, fast check in and out. It was an excellent stay. Room design is contemporary and I like it a lot. With beautiful lobby greeted you. It such a welcoming vibes.
It offers quiet surroundings for good rest. Although it was Ramadhan, breakfast was sent to room. Plus point ❤️ Ample car park provided too! Such a pleasant sat. Would definitely my place to stay!

We were casually looking for a hotel in Georgetown and saw this newly opened hotel. We decided to walk in and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is newly refurbished. We learned about their history from a board they have in the lobby. The room is comfortable and all the furnishings are new. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They have a restaurant that offers good food as well. Highly recommended as it is located in Georgetown, near eateries and must see museums and street arts.
