Hutton Lodge

Clean, nice and nice location.

I am a little confused about the various Hutton hotels nomenclature but from the address and photos this is the apartment block we stayed at for three days though we booked it as Hutton Suites.
These apartments are located in Jalan Hutton, just before it becomes Lebuh Campbell, in the buffer zone around the core UNESCO heritage zone. The core zone is about 8 minutes walk away down Lebuh Campbell. The free CAT bus is just around the corner, in front of the Seven-Eleven, on Jalan Penang. The Seven-Eleven had an ATM we used. It is a really great location.
I chose Hutton Suites (or Hutton I) over Hutton II because it had two bedrooms and our upstairs apartment was spacious, modern and clean in retrofitted historic shop buildings. The two bedrooms (one with king size bed at the front and one with two single beds at the back) were separated by the living and kitchen which is good when travelling with older children or family. The beds and pillows were firm and comfortable. There were good reading lights in the bedrooms and accessible power charging points. There are two large flat screen TVs — one in the master bedroom and one in the lounge room. There is only one bathroom near the bedroom with the single beds but, again, very modern with a glass-door shower. The shower had fantastic water pressure and temperature range. Toiletries were supplied and there was a washer dryer with laundry detergent.

The lodge is very close to Penang Road. Convenient to tourist attractions and the different markets and restaurants; big and small ones. The lodge is a bit rundown with broken doors although my room is comfortable. I give the 3rd star for the convenience, the lodge itself deserves 2stars. It would be better if the maintenance of this "historical" bungalow is improved. A bit of repainting of the room doors or change the broken ones will be better. Shared shower rooms do not have shampoo and shower gel. You have to bring your own. Towel is provided but the towel need to be change to a newer ones. This lodge is very "old school" type of lodge.

Nice place to stay. All within reach esp food and eateries.
Friendly and helpful staff. No regrets, Will come back again. Reasonably priced. Clean.

A very nice and delightful place to stay, very near to alot of eateries especially in the morning, you can just walk across the street to Chowrasta morning wet market. And do ur grocery at Mydin, jump onto buses to the beach, or even call for grab to any food crt in Penang. Make alot of friends here. Would recommend!
Love their crtyard, can even make ur own coffee, wash ur clothes, spray clean ur car.

Phaps sud hv served better bfast. Scrambled eggs, hotdogs, baked beans.

As a hotelier I enjoy checking into boutique hotels. Gone are the times of having to check in and physically register at the counter, thanks to pin enabled security locks making the arrival experience convenient with no fuss. Hutton Central is equipped with modern technology, modern interior. The shell however has been restored to stay true to its heritage. You will find old tiles and large windows. Opposite the hotel is a vintage hair salon with a very welcoming owner. Just outside your doorstep you will find Six Wines — great place to unwind after a long day of exploring and eating. Good variety of wines and very approachable manager.
Location is fantastic. A walking distance to all that the heritage centre has to offer.
With modern facilities and up to date technology you don’t need help unless technology stops working. For the brief second it did, the facilities manager Kumaresh was present to help us reset the password. He was always reachable and always seemed to be just a stone throw away and ready to help. Great experience.

Not sure about it being a steak house? But it is guesthouse that suited my needs, at a reasonable price.

Fantastic with great staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and common shared bathroom was very clean too. Breakfast simple yet good to fill stomach. Would reccommend to all and would give a 5 star rating. Hope to be back and again and many thanks to all the staff over there for their kindness and hospitality.

There is Hutton Central I and II and check in can only be done at II. However the staff was nice enough to come to us at I for the check in procedure. I would say the service the hotel give is really good.
The hotel is well equipped with kitchen facilities, washing maching, shower facilities. Rooms and bed are huge which is really good for friends and families travelling in groups.
The TV though do not have much channels to choose from.
The hotel is walking distance to many iconic sites and famous eateries. Other than that you can just take grab which is easily available and affordable.
Also there is a bar located just below the room we are staying so it got really noisy during one of thw nights. The bar closes around 1~2am? And I assume it only opens on weekends as the rest of the night was quiet.

This was a great find for my boyfriends birthday. It was much nicer than most of the places we had stayed in the past but the price was not so drastically different. The location was excellent, close to chinatown and a big main road with loads of food options. Even a Nasi Candar place that is open 24/7, and a 7-eleven both 3 mins walk away. The intermittent beeping of the pedestrian crossing can be heard all night from the living room but as soon as you go to bed there is no sound at all. Modern building but still shutters and lovely traditional european style from the outside. The reception is actually 3 minutes walk at the Hutton Central II.
Has washing machine, stove top, big fridge/freezer, 2 bedrooms and lovely bathroom.
